    Stuck with version 1.62

Ok, cool glad you guys got it fixed. I downloaded DayZ Commander because I could not get SixUpdater to work for me. DZC fixed my problem too.

    Loading Screen - Steam

I am facing the same issue. It logs into the server. I get a split second of sound, then it goes to a all black loading screen with gold letters. I only get this problem though when I'm in full screen mode. If I load in windowed mode there is not problem. After in the game I can't change from windowed to full screen using Alt+enter. Any suggestions?

    Stuck with version 1.62

I am facing the same issue. I thought it was a build number but it's only 4 digits, however it does look cut off.

    2 issues I need fixed

I am facing the same problem. I was concerned that it has to do with my horrible internet connection. I am currently overseas and using a slow satelite connection, My ping has been around 600. Horrible I know but I just wanted to see how the game was since I'm stuck at my location. The first server I connected to BattleEye booted me for having too high of a ping. I decided to try non-battleEye servers and when ever I connect I get the loading screen that never goes anywhere. I waited for 1 hour and nothing. I have to close the game with task manager. I too would love any help on the issue. Thanks.
  5. I've read a bit about creating the server, and it is possible. Most likely all will be lost every time the server shuts down because it's not linked to the "hive", however that is only a minor hiccup in my opinion. Getting to play is most important. Everything I have found though talks about a seperate CD key required, and hosting a game that you play your self. I guess I can set up a whole new computer and buy the game for it, and set up a new Steam account for that computer. I just hoped others had some experience with it that I could draw from.

    Installing DayZ: A2:CO

That's an idea. I didn't know if the download from Steam can be copied and pasted like that. I know they would need the CD Key on their own but wasn't sure if Steam would recognize if they didn't download it. Unfortunately no one I know has downloaded Arrowhead, so I'll have to spend the next week downloading it as well. Thanks for the quick reply though.
  7. I am currently deployed overseas and stuck using a satelite internet connection running a reported 28kb/s connection (I see 25kb/s at best, and average 10kb/s) with this poor internet I was considering buying a second copy and creating a LAN server to play on, along with my fellow deployed members. I have Steam and the current version of the game I play was purchased and downloaded through that. If I wanted to get a second copy would I need a new steam account? Can I create a server off the internet even if I'm using Steam to play the game? I'm not a fan of steam because so many of us don't have any internet and often steam requires access to the internet. I try to install and prepare all my games prior to deploying but I found out about DayZ only recently and don't want to wait to play, even if it's just on our own server. Most recent games won't allow you to create your own servers, and with arma II being an excption it can easily become one of the most popular games played overseas. We used to have LAN games of Battlefield through the moral drive. Great time killer and a lot of fun when playing against other units. Thanks for any feedback and suggestions.
  8. I am currently deployed and have a very weak satelite internet connection. After a full week of downloading I was able to get ARMA 2 from steam. I purchased Arma 2:Combined Ops, but have yet to download Operation Arrowhead. As my internet speed is approximately 25kb/s at best (often it's around 10kb/s) I was hoping that the downloading of Op Arrowhead was not essential and just the CD key was needed. I played Arma II off-line this morning with no difficulty. I've downloaded the Six-Installer, current Arma2 update Beta, and the DayZ zip files. I have not installed any of the files yet to prevent any problems if I do in fact need OA installed. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks.
