wow.. completly disagree 10000%.. its only because of modding and new maps, that i still even play Dayz. vanilla dayz and Cherna, are simply WAYYYYYYYY to played out and boring now. new maps and new ideas on dayz are what keep it fresh and keep people playing without fresh thinking the game (SA) would die off quickly).

OR, Rocket is smart enuf to understand that having a server side option for 3rd person (yes/no), is the easiest way to move forward. no dev time taken up at all for a "feature" that has been in Arma and its sequels since the intial game. if enuf people truely want a 1st person expereince they will play on those servers, but i suspect very few players do. which is why thre are currently few servers set that way. but thats ok, i know you guys will continue to beat the drum that 5% of the player base is right, and 95% are wrong, and should GTFO.

^^^this guy gets it ^^^. and the biggest reason why you dont see many 1st person servers is cuz most people dont care for it.. people go were they like to play. if 1st person only was the way to go, theres be tons of servers and 3rd person servers would be few n far between, but it isnt that way for a reason.

the transaltion of the above posts reads as : " play my way or GTFO".. thxfully the above poster isnt the game dev. dayz and the upcoming Sa are both sandboxs, and not simple CoD fps games. theres plenty of room for plenty of options for play style, just cuz you like 1 thing deosnt mean everyone else has to. get over yourself, your simply not that important. your just 1 voice in a sea of voices

i only ever play dayz in 3rd person.. remove the ability, you remove my coins from the table. as has been said millions of times, if you dont like 3rd person, dont play there..simple. but plz stop trying to tell others people HOW to play. /endthread.

people still play origins ?? hmmm, like most mods it was a flavour of the week, now gone n forgotten. just move on. ps dayz Unleashed is amazing, i suggest trying it, and forgetting about origins.

this is EXACTLY why all games that have pvp and PVE mixed have rules.. if you dont have rules, the game will degenerate down into its simpliest form..it just will.. without Rocket changing his mind on having "no rules" the game will never return from its current KoS issues. there are lots of MMO's that have excellent PVE/PVP mixs he should be looking at.

no kidding.. i wonder how many people would even still be playing dayz (in any form) if it werent for new mods/maps. i know i'd be looooong gone if i were only able to play vanilla Dayz on Cherno.

i always have had music on...first couple of months it was at default lvls. now i run it at low-barely audible, but still there.. i could care less about giving up some "advantage" by striping the game of atmosphere..

so your suggestion is to basicly play Dayz as a single player expereince, cuz right now basicly EVERY encounter with another player results in bullets being exchanged not words or items or anything else.. news flash but playing the game with the idea of hiding or NEVER exposing yourself to any other players is the same as having a single player dayz version.. no thanks..there are those of us who desp. want dayz to go back to how it first was.. were players actualy conversed, and did other things then simply pressing "fire" everytime they see someone. sure there was PVP, as there should be, but usualy it was in high lvl areas such as army bases/AFs and such.. not simply running along the beach or along some abondonded fire road and suddenly taking fire from 1000m away from some freshie killer... /lame

exactly, until Rocket changes his mind about "no rules", KoS will be all Dayz SA can be.. there is simply no turning back the clock to when dayz was fresh. it truely suks but KoS is going to be the same problem it is now in the mod, or even worse due to the influx of players when alpha finaly (if ever) drops.

how bout you tell him to stop fricken feature creepin, and just release whats build, and let the true alpha phase begin.. at the rate hes never satisfied with whats there, he'll never green light a alpha release.

dayz Unleashed currently.. the roving packs of AI (that kos everythign they see) makes for a excellent addition to an already outstanding new map aswell.. kudos to the devs on this mod.. /clap

i predict most KoS baddies wont have the nuts to admit they KoS on the poll.. most will lie and say how they would take the player interaction option, when in fact its true it rarely if ever happens anymore.. FWIW, i still never kill players..but i def. am well well past the point were i care about my character anymore.. now i just login and leeroy jenkins until im dead, cuz sadly the dayz community is dead and reduced to CoD fest... real godam shame tbh.

go to the beach and kill freshies with flashlites of course.. that is endgame dayZ..

because if i wanted to stare at a completly black screen id just leave my monitor turned off.. NO sale on dayz Night.. i simply either wont play on anything other then 24/7 day or when the server gets darkish, i log off to another.. /endthread. sorry but theres nothing fun about complete black..

remember when dayZ mattered ??? the ever slipping release of a Alpha of SA is seriously starting to smell of vapor-ware.. will i buy it when it comes out ? sure i will, but im so far past the excited/shaky cant wait phase by now..

yup rite about the same time as CoD KoS became the norm.. weird how that happened huh...
