My friend and I, both very well equiped with military gear, have been alive for a while now. Survivng off of the land, looting miltary bases and the such. But all good things must come to an end. Here we are, searching hangers when he runs in, pursued by a single zombie, i aim and i shoot. Fuck. Blood begins pouring from my friend, i missed the shot... "Bandage yourself! I am so sorry!" "I'm out of bandages," he says, dropping to the floor. We are on chatting out of game so for the next 5 minutes i sit there apologizing, he laughs it off and tells me to take the sniper from his body and protect it. But i have a better idea! Or so i thought... Running into the woods i try to pitch a tent, my plan, to put all my stuff in the tent, then loot his body so we both have all our gear and we havent lost anything. Now we all know the pain tents bring, i spend a good 5 minutes or so trying to pitch it, with no success. When suddenly out of the corner of my eye i see a crashed chopper! Yay, i may be able to to make up for what i have done my presenting my friend with a brand new shiny gun! Not a good idea, i crouch up to the chopper, take aim and fire, taking out numerous zombies, suddenly more come, from the hills. I'm getting to the end of my magazine when all the zombies around the chopper respawn, "shit," i think to myself. I start bleeding, as i try and kill the zombies assaulting me my blood ticks down, before i know its down to 6k and still dropping, then the final hit comes. I go down with a broken leg and still shooting, am consumed by the infected as they begin consuming my body. With no bandages and no morphine, im already dead. Never the less it has been an enjoyable run and we are already back into it, as i type this my friend is legging it from Elektro to an airfield. This is the happiness and sadness that DayZ brings and it is an unrivalled experience. tl;dr I murdered my friend and died. EDIT: You can NEVER have enough bandages. The simplest things are the most usefull.

Are map markers server specific? I logged out last night with about 2 markers on my map, log in today and there is around 5 new markers around devils castle that were not there before. Whats the go with this? Not an issue, just curious.

So me and my friend logged on today in the building just south of the North West Airfield, we planned to loot NWA and so we logged into a fairly low populated server. Now keeping in mind we had average gear, nothing special. I was rocking a CZ550 and M1014, plenty of ammo, food, water, and all the tools to survive in the wild. My partner had the same except an AKM instead of my CZ. Anyhow we logged into the barracks (not sure of exact name) and we hear flies, semi freaking out as we know someone could be near. No, instead we experience on our happiest Day Z moments to date! A dead survivor in the hallway, complete with Coyote Backpack, M4A1 holo with shitloads of ammo, M16A2, M1911 x2, NVG, military flashlight and an M107! So yeah just sharing the awesome loot we stumbled upon, best we have found by far, now time to play extra sneaky so we dont lose it :P

So after logging out a few hours ago i have logged back on, i spawned on an island, broken leg, no items. Different server and i hae started at drakon with nothing and its saying its my first day? It's frustrating because now i have nothing, not going to cry and quit, just wondering if this has happened to anyone else/solutions?

So after playing Day Z for roughly a week now i've become a bandit, i don't give people a chance anymore, if i see you i will kill you, anything to ensure my survival. At the beggining i was a survivor, looting Cherno and Elektro screaming "friendly!" whenever i came across someone, only to find out that was only getting me killed. At the moment i dont have amazing gear, me and my friend play together and we have agreed to adopt the shoot on sight mentality. So last night we were on a low populated US server, 6 people including ourselves, we are well away from any big cities and we come across a barn, "Shit!" my friend says, "there is someone in the barn" We talk in game to him and he says that he needs some morphine, he wont shoot, We enter and i say, if you try anything we will kill you, he faces away from us in prone and says, "Give me morphine, there is no way i could kill you guys." So i walk up behind him and tell him its going to be ok, my friend is coming to give him morphine now, then i unload two shotgun slugs to his head. tl;dr I'm an asshole and just wanted to share the beggining of my banditry.

I know, it is an absolute asshole move. Me and my friend feel that we have died to often to people when giving them help, and considering this is our best run yet we didnt want to take chances.
