How to value a player's life

your items and position are the value. You don't want to die if you are high up on the map because it took you a long time to get there. You also don't want to die if you have good gear. Besides, putting a 30 minute timer will make people not want to play it. The game is realistic enough.
  3. We've all played a lot of dayZ and we each have our own experiences to share from it. Some can bring up good ideas about survival tactics. Here are some of my suggestions / tutorials: Storage: The maximum amount of storage your character can have is 55 not including your primary weapon. 6 from the best pants, 6 from the best chest piece, 8 from a vest, and 35 from the biggest backpack. But is that the most you can carry? The answer is no. One thing I noticed is that all backpacks take up the same amount of space in your inventory, for example, a small Taloon backpack takes up as much room as a 35 slot hunting backpack. Every backpack takes up 25 slots. If you think about it, this means that you can put a 35-slot backpack inside of another 35-slot backpack, and you'll have an extra 10 slots! There is only one problem to this tactic, and that is accessing the gear inside. Placing items into your inner backpack is simple, you just drag and drop whatever you want into the backpack. However, to see what's inside, you need to drag your inner backpack onto the ground, and then access it. You might think, well thats not that big of a problem. Well it kind of is right now. Most servers are still laggy right now so it takes anywhere from one second to a minute for stuff to appear on the ground. And you don't want to be sitting around waiting for your backpack to appear when someone comes near you. So how can this be used then? Well, remember your hotbar, 1 - 10. You can place items from your inner backpack, into your hotbar, and then you wont have to drop your inner backpack to access the gear. All you'll have to do is press whatever button you assigned and you have access to that item easily. That being said, i reccomend only placing USABLE items inside your inner backpack. so don't put single cans of food in there. Here are things that would be useful inside an inner backpack: - weapons - medkits - ammo boxes - yellow carrying cases - water bottle / canteen (because it's reusable) - tools TLDR, Put backpack inside backpack. Use Hotbar. Blood! There has been a lot of confusion over blood bags recently. And There aren't many good tutorials on youtube or the wiki. So hopefully here I can teach you the proper way to use blood bags. So first of all there are 2 ways to get blood back instantly. One is using a blood bag, the other is using a saline bag. What is the difference? Well, remember the old blood bag from dayz mod? The saline bag works almost exactly like that. The only difference is that you might have to find an IV start kit, but sometimes Saline bags spawn with those attatched. So when you find a saline bag, it already has fluid inside of it. YOU DON'T NEED TO FILL IT. A blood bag, however, you DO need to fill it. If your saline bag already has an IV attacthed (you'll know this if it says saline bag with IV, and if its a 2-slot item) all you have to do is put it in your hand, and scroll-wheel on your friend, and it'll say give saline or something like that. If you find a saline bag, but it doesn't have an IV attatched, you'll need to find an IV start kit before you use it. to combine the saline bag and the IV, all you need to do is drag them on top of each other. and it'll give you the option to "create". This makes a 2-slot saline bag with IV. Blood is a little more complicated, but blood bag kits are more common. You will typically find blood bag kits inside a red healthkit. Inside you will also find an IV start kit. to withdraw blood, you don't need the IV start kit. To withdraw blood, all you need to do is have the blood bag kit in your hand, and withdraw blood from your friend. This will destroy the blood bag kit item, and replace it with a blood bag. To put the blood back into your friend, you drag your IV start kit onto the blood bag, and it will create blood bag with IV, a 2-slot item. To administer the blood, just put it in your hands and scroll wheel on your friend. An option called, "give blood" will appear. Blood Compatibility: You can only give blood to people who are compatible with your blood type. To find out your blood type you need a blood test kit. Those are one time use, meaning when you use it, it'll tell you your blood type in the chat, and then it'll disappear. To use it, you right click on the item, and "collect sample". To figure out if you and your friend are compatible, you'll need 2 test kits. Once you figure out your blood types use this to see if you are compatible: http://dayz.gamepedia.com/Blood_type I do not know how accurate this is. I am not the one who wrote it, but it seems legit. TLDR, put it in your hand and scroll-wheel, saline bags are better. Please feel free to post any advanced tips or tutorials you have found.
