I can't wait to see if they can get zombies and loot to spawn all at once or at least from distances that you never notice it compared to the 200m in the game currently. It'll make the game world feel much more engaging and populated if there are just hundreds of zombies at all times throughout the map. Maybe have it be a mixture. We know the servers right now can handle a good couple hundred spawn zombies, so maybe have a minimum at all times in certain areas, with random spawns throughout the world itself, and then as more people come to certain areas, more zombies begin to spawn. That way you never know if a place as people or not in it.
  2. I'd certainly keep playing, but I think it should just be left up to server options like it is now. Theres no reason not to do it this way. To me, ARMA just doesn't have that great of a first person experience. I can play first person all the time in other games, but I found third person to be so much better, especially on long distance runs.
  3. Not too big of a deal really lol Though I think it does allow for some silly knockoff brand names for replacements lol
  4. I would give anything to have a simple jump button in this game lol Vaulting is hardly realistic and so poorly done in this game. If they at least brought in the quick vault that is a plugin that people use, that would be nicer, but I don't see what is unrealistic about jumping. Yeah it could be abused by bunny hoppers, but I think that could be altered in some way with a simple stamina system. The more you jump, the less your able to with each one till your now sluggish from doing so and become an easier target, punishing people who jump too much. There are ways around it, especially if your bringing in realism. Though looking at those animation replacement videos, those would be a really big step in making the game better I think if they want to keep the context sensitive jumping a thing. I think its annoying, but I could work with it if I didn't have to stop at every knee high fence to get over it lol For the cover system, I'd probably say I could do with or without it, but better maneuverability in the standalone is a must.

Its really fantastic to see them finally released. I know its not done with, but I really hope they can beat this.

    DayZ 2017 New Release

The mod came out last year lol It isn't going to keep changing its name every year lol
  7. Its still a possibility though. I'm not against it as much right now after hearing they removed the hour limit. It isn't quite as bad then only being able to eat every 5 minutes.
  8. I think making it so you can't instant blood bag would be a good idea, maybe making someone have to wait 5 to 10 minutes, that way they can't just do it in the middle of a fight, they either need to retreat or find a safe location and get someone to try and cover them. Something as simple as that, would change the mechanics of it pretty heavily in the PVP aspect.

Does sidechat ruin anyone elses game?

I like it at times, but some servers allow for global voice chat and that bothers me. I can see the text as bothersome, especially when people don't shut the hell up, but I'm more against people voicing as that should be left to direct chat stuff.
  10. Yeah I'm of the crowd that 1 to 800 is a little ridiculous. I think it should be a minimum of 200 at least, so it is still a reasonable way to get blood for people who aren't teamed up. And only one piece of meat in an hour? I understand the meat spam to heal, I use it all the time, but it seems like too long of a wait. Especially with what the minimum could be if they don't set it higher, there's no telling how long it would take to recover from it. You eat a piece of meat, get the lowball of 10 or 20, well damn, gotta wait an hour to see if I can hit the blood lottery! Even at a minimum of 200 to 800 every half hour, that would still require people at very low health to want to find some help with a blood bag unless they want to stare into blinding de-saturation for hours and to be left at a real disadvantage lol Meat needs fixing to take out the ease, but this seems abit too far. I know its an always sliding scale right now, so just putting my two cents out there. *EDIT* And reading the other thread, it looks like they took out the hour limiter and just made it so you can only eat ever 5 minutes, which seems pretty fine to me for the most part.
  11. That all sounds really fantastic, the biggest thing being the inventory. It was kind of a confusing nightmare and still proves to be problematic, but to hear it being rebuilt and to have loot look more like loot and less just piles on the floor really has me excited and that wasn't even all that was brought up! I'm really looking forward to playing this!
  12. Bloodsuckers definitely add some real danger to the map. Everyone knows zombies aren't remotely a threat in anyway, there's no disputing that. Bloodsuckers have issues that need to be fixed, such as lower frequency, less invisibility, but I like having them in the game, cause they are something to worry about for once, even if you can lose them on stairs lol

So I found a mutant heart...

Oh cool, they are adding in artifacts to Namalsk also. In STALKER which all of that extra stuff comes from, artifacts give you bonuses to things. Carry more, more stamina, less radiation, etc...I didn't know they had them in the mod which is cool. I'd kill to be invisible to Bloodsuckers since they aren't done right yet lol
  14. The bloodsuckers need to be really changed. Are they just always invisible? I never see them till I hear the tell-tale signs, which aren't the same as what they should be (When running they have heavy breathing so you know they are rushing at you, they don't have this right now), they are generally too silent most of the time and are supposed to be much louder generally, and they need to not be completely invisible. They need to be only partially invisible or have an outline, since it's damn near impossible to spot their eyes. Being a longtime STALKER player, they just aren't right yet. I also question their aggro abilities. I was sneaking up to a base, proning for a good minute or so, trying to get around some zombies, next thing I know, I got a bloodsucker on me and I have to run away after getting hit. I know I didn't aggro it before I went prone, cause it would've been on me right away, which means it must've seen me while proned, but I don't know where it came from.
  15. Well I was going for the idea that zombies would be better faster for the most part, just not at full super zombie speed. I think that they could just be under your speed, so that they at least can stay with you and if you make a mistake, your in trouble, but I think a mixture of fast and then less than that would be good. That way you can get some sprinters, and then some that can be quick in towns and get the jump on you, with slower ones being the ones you miss amid the action. It's at least better than shamblers where you can just easily outrun them all with no issues and really the discussion is about how to make the zombies better. You fix the slope, tree, and building glitches, vary the speeds of the zombies, and then add more of them. Thats a big change right there. And I think the gear idea should be added in also, where if you have a larger pack with more gear and weapons, you'll be slower than someone with a smaller pack and lighter gear. That's something that would really add to the games realism. You would have to use camps or vehicles more to store your extra gear or you go fully decked out with all the ammo, food, guns, and gear you need, but you are sluggish, as you should be.
  16. I personally see little danger in shamblers. If you are trapped in a small place with one exit, 50 zombies on you might get scary, but to me it makes more sense to have zombies of varying speed. Not full blown sprinters like the infected in 28 Days Later, but could be rather speedy if need be, maybe more like Dead Island, where zombies can hurry abit if need be, and then randomly there will be sprinters who are newly infected along with those that crawl around and can go unseen. Roaming hordes would be cool though, basically design them like chopper spawns, where in many locations around the map, you could just suddenly run into a group of like 10 or 20 of them.
  17. So zombies are now suddenly silent? Kind of a silly idea. The white blob thing isn't an issue either, as I barely pay attention to them and mostly only do if I am out in the woods and needing to keep an eye out for an animal.
  18. For me, I want to be able to outrun zombies, their normal speed being less than your run speed, maybe inbetween that and your standing slow walk, and there be alot more of them. This way way they'll be getting some speed at you inside buildings, and be very intimidating. I certainly don't want shamblers as they are not intimidating, even in a large group. Maybe even vary their speed abit. Some are faster, hoppers are slower, crawlers are slowest and then zombies just have varying speeds in general so everything is stilted and you don't know what to expect. And yeah, zombies need randomized spawns and to not give away when people are near, so maybe have it be that there are a few zombies in most locations at all times, with more starting to spawn as you get near or just have the zombies always out. Is it a limitation of the game to keep them spawned to save on map resources or something? Maybe at most, just make all high profile loot locations like the cities and airfields have zombies 24/7.
  19. Purely for DayZ. I actually have issues with the ARMA 2 engine and the mechanics they utilize, but the potential of DayZ keeps me very invested in the game.
  20. Yeah .73 isn't out on DayZ Commander yet, so we are still on .72. If they've fixed it so now that there is proper warning and headsup for the EVR to give people a chance, I'm good with that.
  21. I didn't see even close to 5 minutes when I played. What I saw was I was at the Sebjan Warehouse tower that is just outside the walls, when someone told me it was coming. Next thing I know, the EVR hits and as I try to run, this all being in about a minute at best, where I'm then knocked down and killed, cause I had low blood. I had no way of hiding in that amount of time. There's no warning or build up that I saw like there should be with it like it is in STALKER. I'd like to see it have a proper buildup for it. You get the warning weather signs, maybe the good 'ole air raid siren, things start to get abit hazey and you get between 5 to 10 minutes to get to safety. I like the mechanic, I just think it's too quick on a map that is way too big. I get more time in actual STALKER for finding a place, and on those small maps, I'm never more than a minute or two away from a safe spot.

    Hackers any better?

Just play on private servers more. You are less likely to find them there, but really, nothing in particular has changed to combat them other than since then, the game is out of that initial hype phase, so less people are playing.

    Did Namalsk get it right?

Yeah I would say they need to tone back the gun spawn rates as there are tons and maybe add in alittle more food. I like the gun variety and new additions, there are just too many. Also the Blowouts don't really work how they are right now and need to be tweaked. Something that will either instantly kill you or instantly do heavy damage do you, is kinda stupid. It needs to give off at least a 5 or 10 minute warning before it hits so people have a chance to get into a building and then do less damage.
  24. Well got hit with my first blowout. Yeah, that shit needs to be patched pretty quick. With it doing apparently half your health, your dead if your below 6000 health and there isn't any warning to it. In STALKER it worked cause there was a warning. You get the air raid siren, then you had a couple minutes to get somewhere. In this, it's just a BAM, and then in less than a minute, your either dead or severely wounded. That is dumb. I'm cool with Bloodsuckers, only having come across one so far, though their roar needs to be more common and making breathing noises like it does in STALKER when they run so you can actually find the fucker, especially since it's pretty much completely invisible. They are stealthy, but not THAT stealthy lol

    So we found a Bambi..

Yeah it's a really stupid nickname for new spawns lol
