Biggest bunch of poofters the world has ever seen

OP can have all my beans solely for thread title. And for thread getting 3 pages. And for Alex Kidd reference. -
Poll re Telepathic/Psychic exploit. Please read the example before answering question!
Chiron replied to JerFeelgood's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I agree with this being an exploit. I mean, I'm not worried too much about it because there's very little you can do. It does remove a bit of realism from a pretty full on game (i.e. dead players telling their team mates what happened) but getting rid of that would probably be difficult/impossible and have ramifications. I mean a lot of shooters like CoD or CS:S don't allow dead team mates to speak to alive ones, but you can't really implement this type of thing into DayZ (as people can just use TeamSpeak, Skype, etc.) So yes, it's an exploit and can ruin experiences, but it's not going anywhere and it's not getting 'fixed'. That's just the nature of PVP gaming and the online experience. -
Just to make things clear - weapons nerf is not a DayZ patch.

[POLL] KOS because i have to, oh rly?

Fear + survival, but probably worth noting that I never fire first. That's Hans job. -
This is kind of a round-about way of saying how hacking is the main issue atm. If there weren't unfair, nonsensical instances like this, no one would 'need' to alt+f4.

I almost made it!!!!!! Running Ducks, i need a clan

My favourite part was where OPs balls fell off. This game is waaaaay too realistic. -
You made an account... for this?

So how long have all you folk survived, as in days (it says 'Day ##' at the bottom when you connect)? Curious to see how long people survive and what you do in that time. I've probably only hit about 10 or so, wandering the forests.

It's a symbol. That means shock... I 'unno. Maybe it's like a metaphorical way of saying that you've 'snapped'/freaking out.

NEW WORLD ORDER Electro Church Shootout US 650
Chiron replied to ReyDeLaLuna's topic in DayZ Mod Gallery
Dat story. Nice. I'm jealous of not being there for this. This game brings out the best (best?) of the gaming world and offers some of the most engulfing situations a video game can. -

I was talking about the real one...

Hypothetical situation, though I wouldn't be at all surprised if it has happened before. You stumble across a lone survivor literally sitting beside a burning campfire in the middle of some backwater Chernasus forest. As you approach, if he sees you, he asks to you come and chat a while. How would you honestly react to this situation? If you've run into a similar situation, please share.

If only.

I found one unbelievably easy - in fact, it's the only pack I've had aside from the Coyote Patrol. No clue about where I found it though, I didn't know place names back then. Kept it for a few solid weeks, too.
-
Anyone printed off a big map of Chernasus for off monitor referencing? I found some food ones, but nothing over about 2200px x 2200px. Not sure how large I'd be able to print that off without it being unreadable. I basically want something nice nad big, maybe A2 or A1, to lay out on a white board and mark my own locations with magnets etc. Just for the hell of it - fully aware that the google-esque, scalable maps online are much more useful. Thoughts or suggestions on images to use? Or any thoughts on easy ways to put together the lovely definition google-esque map?

What if he had no beans?

I like that attitude, as morbid as that may be. I guess it's kinda like putting a human face to the person, even if they end up taking you out. KOS bandits and snipers just feel like bots or programmed parts of the game.

So, I've been playing a while and I don't see how to get better...
Chiron replied to VikingBerserker's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I agree in principle, but the field definitely isn't dominated by the clans. It's a big world. I think patience is the key. -
Hey, nice. Rough dimensions on that? (sorry, didn't see them on the webpage)

I'm no expert, still pretty new myself, but I learnt well enough in the first day or so that going inland is what it's all about. Spawn, get some basics, then head North - the coast is just for short term, PVP blood baths. Once you head North into the wild, scout out towns carefully and just search everywhere you can. It'll be more deserted up there, but still be wary of who's around. Don't hit up the NWAF (North West Air Field) until you're really keen, as it's nearly always occupied by someone looking for sniper kills. But there, and other places up North, are where you'll find the good gear. Find a tent, find somewhere isolated and not often traveled by, and then try setting up your 'base' with a tent stocked with the essentials. It all takes time, luck and, usually, a few sets of boots working together. Goodluck. -

Eggs-actly what I was looking for - cheers, big ears! -
I don't know how to feel...

My friend, you are a gentleman and a scholar. Please, have all my beans! Thanks so much, that's exactly what I'm after. I'll print it out at the largest size I can afford/manage, and getting it laminated afterwards was definitely on the cards. Excellent stuff.
-
Definitely. In fact, if you die from 'natural' causes and weren't in one of the popular zones, it's likely you can sprint back and restock fully before someone else grabs your stuff.
