The Golden Tent - Most Epic Loot Finds

Are you kidding me? They're pretty damn quiet, they use the same ammo as the M4/M16s, the stagnag, and according to dayzdb they're audible range is only 80m. Yeah, I know dayzdb isn't super accurate, but still. I wouldn't have passed those up man :(

    Flush help

So I'm stuck playing on a laptop (which is actually pretty damn good) but I don't have a numpad. I wasn't really having any problems with the graphical artifacts until yesterday. Any way I can flush without having the numpad - sign?
  3. I think you guys probably killed OP with all those beans. Internal organ failure due to the high amounts of sodium? Sounds legit.
  4. I was on the east hospital roof in Cherno and I saw some guy trying to loot the tents. He was out of direct com range so I just kept watching him. He got closer, still didn't see me, and I typed friendly in chat. He starts spinning around freaking out and I stay all cool. He eventually sees me, takes a shot and misses and I type in chat again "Woah bro, I'm friendly." He says his bad, goes on his way. I eventually climb down and creep toward the tents since it seems like he hasn't touched the medical loot and I need supplies. I ask if he's still there and if he would give me a transfusion. 15 minutes later, I'm on Skype with like 4 guys total and we're having a jolly good time.

    Train... Hear me out

Takes an assload to repair it, but could could take a long ass time to damage it to the point where it's immobile. Maybe runs through fuel super fast too, but has a big tank. Requires a lot of effort to get it moving, but when it does it's a good way for large amounts of people to travel relatively fast and safe. Uncontrollable train whistle could also help balance it. Don't even try to complain about how it'd be a prime sniper target. That's like bitching about campers in any major area, i.e. Cherno/Elektro, NWAF, ect.. Snipers gon' snipe, that doesn't mean anything.
  6. Great freaking idea bro, beans given.

    Cyric's Forum PvP Guide

I just about shit my pants when the Imminent TKO link led to the Guile Theme. Props to you good sir.
  8. I'm still a little disappointed in a way that he didn't kill me. I honestly don't know how he could have missed so many times. I'm still thankful I'm alive of course, but I should have been dead haha.
  9. ...not being a noob. I'm not a bandit myself, nor am I bashing on it. I love the aspect that it gives Day Z. But, for real, some kids need to learn how to aim. I was on a server earlier with the side chat enabled and everyone was having a jolly time, no f*cks given, and me and two dudes I met were crawling around Elektro at night. We survived like 3 big zombie hoards and finally the guy that was leading us broke his leg and we had no morphine left. I volunteered to go back to the hospital by myself while the other dude covered him. Mind you, I'm at like 6k blood with a hatchet and a revolver and all our chat has been on the side channel. I get to the hospital, bust in with my axe, have to drop my revolver in order to pull my flashlight out to see what the hell I'm doing. I start looting a medical box when I get shot. I whip around, see two more muzzle flashes from a bandit standing outside of the hospital window firing a revolver at me. I duck behind the wall, wait, and see him go behind the corner of the building. As I'm bandaging myself I'm like "Wtf bro?" No response. As I'm about to tell him how lucky he was I didn't have my revolver in hand he starts creeping around the corner again. I go prone, crawl up to the window and wait. He gets just out of my hatchet range, sees me, then starts firing. I start scooting left and right, I roll a couple times, all the while he's firing at me. I get up when he finally reloads and go in for the axe kill. I've only recently started playing in third person so my aim isn't that great, so I keep missing. He fires off a whole new clip at me before I finally take him out. I bandage up real quick with like 200 blood left and loot his meds as well as his camo clothing. Rest in pieces "uni". Ironically, as I was bandaging up after I killed him, both my teammates decided to kill themselves to respawn. I survived a literal hail of gunfire for them, murdered a dude with my axe, and what have I got to show for it? Camo clothes.
  10. If they're that prepared that they have bear traps and sandbags, wouldn't you think that maybe they have multiple snipers? Not to mention that they're most likely well coordinated? Yeah, you guys made a legitamate attack on them, but if two people can coordinate an attack well enough to take on a full encampment, how do you expect a whole camp to retaliate? Also, any estimate on when the server will be back up? I've been checking the server list and I have not seen anything for US 1038.
  11. IRL Information Name: Ben Age: 19 Location: Washington (state) Timezone: PST (GMT -8) Do you meet ALL the requirements? If not, which ones are you missing and why?: I will typically meet them all, though I can't always guarantee I'll be on 3 times a week as I have a job and am a full time student. I'm also a bit of a night owl and I tend to play on out of country servers to be able to play during in game day time. I define banditry as killing others simply to steal their items or on a whim, which I do not do. When I encounter other players I will typically just wait and see what they do. If they haven't seen me, I'll generally watch what they do and avoid them if possible. If they see me and are not hostile, I'll avoid them. If they are, I'll retaliate. Game Information IGN: Bairhanz Steam ID (if applicable): redvirusx (I never log in through steam) Desired group role (Medic, sniper, spotter, etc): I'm open to anything, though I have limited experience with ArmA II so I can't say I'd be a very proficient sniper Why you would like to join? What interested you about us? (min. 4 sentences): I've been playing DayZ for about two weeks now and I've been loving every minute of it, even the moments where I die or am murdered as it's all really exhilerating. While I do have a couple friends that I typically try to play with whenever I can, they are not always available and I'd love to be in the company of more people with similar outlooks as I am. From what it looks like GMS is fair and friendly and has a lot to offer in terms of a community. I'd love to be able to be a part of that as surviving my by myself or even a companion isn't the same as a large group. What skills / perks can you offer to [GMS]?: Like I said before, I don't have a ton of experience with ArmA II, although I haven't really had any problems with fire fights. I feel my main strengths would be helping scavange supplies and provide aid when I can.

    Winchester 1866

Probably one of the best weapons in the game imo. Rated low for recoil, low for noise, and it 1 shots zombies and it whoops players asses. Not to mention it has some pretty great range. Only reason I'd ever choose another gun is for the fire rate for zombies mobs or other players.
  13. My favorite route has been to sneak across the south end of Cherno into the supermarket, hopefully grab a majority of the tools I need (watch, compass, map, binocs, ect...) and some food and stuff, then head through some residential house, the church, then the firestation. Usually by then I'll have a decent amount of gear and I can book it into the woods. My longest life though I had gotten an axe from a farm and pulled some straight up Solid Snake shit through Balota, got into the airfield, raided it, then raided the deer stands at the military camp south of it, then went err'where after that until I finally got shot looting a hospital.

    Anyone actually play at night?

I feel like throwing the gamma way up is pretty cheap, but maybe I'll try it. Does it still work in the wilderness or indoors?
  15. From the general emptiness of a lot of the US servers at night when I can usually play, it seems to be that no one ever plays at night. I can't really justify it without NVGs (which I have yet to ever find) unless you're in a city with a bunch of chem lights or flares, both of which would make it dangerous since they attract zombies. I don't think the inactivty at night is wrong or should be changed, I'm just curious to how many people actually play at night without NVGs. Any tips?
