If the bandit skins are still in the standalone I'm going to be pissed.
electroban replied to electroban's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Seriously what is with people L2 Read. I ask the player you got food? he replies "not for you" implying he DOES have food just not for me, and they call me mental? No the morality system as it is doesn't encourage anything it just makes me choose between having a bandit skin and my character still being alive, or not having a bandit skin and it dying. -

Go ask mummy and daddy what you should do when you got no food at all and the only thing you can eat is human flesh or die. Ask em what u shud do. Mummy and Daddy prepares you for this world were living in, not a post apocalyptic zombie world. -

Yeah that's right, but we all have the potential to be bandits and good guys when we want to be. I just disagree on getting a set of clothes forced upon me for merely surviving in a post apocalyptic world. It's not what the game's about. -

OK Consider this as a hypothetical situation, say the game is rebalanced A LOT. You're in the woods, there's no food ANYWHERE. Your food is blinking and you're bleeding out from the starvation. You see another player, whose just say got an axe where as you have a shotgun. You be the nice guy, you ask over Direct "Hey man you got any food?" The other player replies "Not for you bitch". I want my character to survive, so i shoot the player in the face and I prize his beans out of his cold dead hands. Oh no but what's this? a skin has been forced on your character, how the hell did that get there. Morality system is bullshit, everyone knows it. It's there to stop the rampant amount of coastal banditry. And it didn't work to begin with. So why bother? It's just seems counter intuitive to what this game is. -

LOL In a real life zombie apocalypse we're all going to look like shit though! We'll all look like fucking bums, that's why I take the bearded old man lol. -

That's the point though I'm not asking to replace the bandit skins with something else, my my topic is centralised around getting rid of the bandit skin! trying to impose a morality system within a simulation of a zombie apocalypse game is ridiculous. If it ain't broke don't fix it. -

Yeah well there is, you get close and u say hi via direct chat, if he doesnt say anything you should probably run away. A lot of people seem to think the end game of Day Z should be one big flower circle. They just need to really hit hard on the resources and make you have to kill to survive. Not just kill to have fun. -

Not a tag no, when would that ever really happen? I mean you can tell the friends that you meet with or the people your with that you saw a killing but that's all you can do. -

"Legitimatley concerned for what he make the topic for" Can see I'm chatting with some real smart characters here. I made this topic to get across my opinion on how forcing a morality system on a simulation of a zombie apocalypse is stupid and immersion breaking, which people obviously agree with. Yeah I used some comedic statements, to illustrate how truly lawless and brutal a zombie apocalypse should be. I'm sorry if ideas of Cannibalism and a bit of raping might scare some of the less educated dim witted posters. But it's all themes that would hold true to the realism of an actual apocalypse. Unlike having your clothes taken off you randomly and being redressed by some invisible force if you do something "wrong" Thats the point man, there is no Wrong or Right anymore, its a zombie apocolypse!!! It's why other players are referred to as Survivor not "your new best friend" -

Things that would give me away in the game are there too, like me shooting someone in the face whilst u watched me from afar. What I don't want is an invisible morality system that dresses me whenever I do something bad? Whats the point. What's the next step in this method? If i sit around a super market and eat all the beans for days on end, the system will give me a fatty character? -

As to what you say here on killing Bambi's at the coast, I made a previous thread on this forums about changing the player spawns so not everyone starts on the coast reducing the Cherno/Elektro deathmatch meta. And there are ways to not avoid everyone etc, you can shout out in direct chat to ascertain if a player is friendly or not. -

Oh my god bro it's like you have a learning disability or something, I was trying to say I would eat a mans legs within the context of a zombie apocolypse, are you what threatened or something? Let me be clear im not going to find you and eat your legs OK? Let me be clear were in a Zombie Apocolypse game general discussion, with themes like, survival banditry, and murder being discussed, and within that SUBJECT CONTEXT, i bought up eating a mans legs to survive. Ok? Yes i am being serious, if i was starving and i saw you, i would eat your corpse in a situation such as a zombie apoclolypse. Ok? -

No I personally wouldn't instinctively shoot the first person I saw, but it depends how I want to play it. I should have the freedom to be nice or be a marauding killer, if I so choose without having some trashy skin put on my body randomly. I think there's better ways to discourage certain behaviours that's for sure, but don't wrap a towel round my head? -

No troll, the thing that upsets me the most is not having the option and it being forced on me, obviously if you had been fukt to read the thread you would of gleemed that before you put your "input" into it. -

Only unable to do it untill you can do it. Rocket probably wouldn't allow cannibalism cos he doesn't have the balls to implement it. I can't imagine it'd be that hard to implement either. I'm just using an example in terms of realism in game, that eating a corpse is more realistic than randomly getting clothes put on you against your will. -

electroban replied to electroban's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
No it doesn't there's loads of fiction around Apocolypses Zombies or not that go into the idea of cannibalism to survive. Didn't you ever see that plane movie where they got stuck up some mountain and had to eat each other to survive? what about the movie / book The Road, in which big gangs were just roaming everywhere to find humans to eat. Don't underestimate the instinct to survive. I would eat you if I had to. If it was eat your corpse, and survive, or just die, then i'd eat your corpse. -

I didn't actually say anything about it being a good idea did I. L2Read. If they rewarded everyone a ghillie suit for KOSing u may as well call the world were on the planet kasheek or whatever chewies homeworld is -

electroban replied to electroban's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
What do you mean to make up for it? There shouldn't be a punishment for killing someone in a setting like that. Why should there be? I don't generally KOS but I do when I'm low on a lot of supplies on Namalsk. And to be honest pal, cannibalising a human corpse in the DayZ game is more realistic than getting a skin suddenly put onto you randomly. I mean if it's starve to death or eat someones leg, then why not. I get that maybe its you having a problem getting around the idea its the zombie apocolypse. -

cos that would be a reward as opposed to being forced to look like a jihadist. -

You seem to be purposefully ignoring the point I'm making in favour of going off in non-specific tangents which is a clear sign you got fuck all left to say. -

electroban replied to electroban's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yeah I agree, maybe if you have done alot of murderering you can have a bit of blood spatter on you if its close ranged, but too be honest everyone should have the same basic clothes. Bandit skins are just the games way of holding the bad players hand and telling them to avoid X player or shoot on sight. -

electroban replied to electroban's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I think people are just like not really getting the fact that, in a game that's meant to try and be a simulation of a zombie apocolypse, it's pretty fuktarded that because i kill someone the clothes that i'm wearing are getting automatically changed? How does that fit in with the immersion exactly. -
If the bandit skins are still in the standalone I'm going to be pissed.
electroban replied to electroban's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The only people that would know, are the people that saw me do it. In a real life zombie apocolypse If I lead someone into a shed and stab them to death with a shank, and no one saw me do it, then no one would know, yet if I did that in this game, I would be wearing a bandit skin, lord knows how i got them, maybe a godhand came down and dressed me up?. And it's not about morals it's about shades of grey. -

electroban replied to electroban's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yeah the point I'm trying to make is this game shouldn't have any kind of moral compass at all? Leave that shit to mass effect and dragon age. -

that and the lack of zombies and easily aquireable firearms, and the need to scavenge for food. You'd eat someone if you had to.
