UK 901 Private Hive Server - 24HR Daylight / 120 Vehicles / Custom Loadout
Rifle Eyez replied to nathanrogue's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
I'm interested, may sign up :) -
Sup, I've finally had it with all the hacking, scripting etc. It's literally pointless to play public now and after watching a few youtubers on private hives it looks like a ton of fun. Any recommendations for a UK player? And active servers? I'm not looking to invest time in some kids private hive with like 4 regular players - looking for something with a ton of action and activity. If it's a sign up/password deal, can you point me in the right direction to speak to the admin or something? Thanks!

One tip I've found successful is personally is don't be too stationary or static, especially if you're not 100% on where the guy is. Sure, cover is awesome when you can get it, but don't underestimate the power of mobility. I've killed so many people who make the mistake of proning or crouching at the wrong moments and simply running out of their line of sight and around them for a easy kill.

Snipers aren't a problem. People should stop moaning.
Rifle Eyez replied to andrewmont's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Snipers aren't my issue. A majority of them suck. Not ''stereotyping'' but I guarentee most of them are the consolefags/codfags who bought into the day-z hype and just wanna pvp, so the skill level is non existant half the time. But, If you're truely bothered, join a low pop till you're out the coastal area. I feel more pity for them though, like when I'm a new spawn literally fresh of the beach and they hit me it's like...good job guy. Not even rage, just...what was the point? -
...I've just lost 5 FN fals with night vision, 3 as50s, 4 m107s, enough ammo to last a lifetime and 5 nvgs, 20+ ghillies, 7 gps, 7 rangefinders, and more. If not - i'm done with dayz. bawwww.

Are any servers safe anymore? If so, can anyone recommend a semi-safe one from personal experience? EU/UK. I'm experiencing hackers in 90% of servers I join at least. If i've not been insta killed, teleported or bumped into a god mode guy in a hour it's a miracle. A IRL friend of mine, who had a server, used a map hack + other tools himself to monitor everyone. Never spawned gear, killed anyone etc. He said literally 95%+ of servers he joined over a week period had hackers or hacker activity. He said on a majority of 20+ pop servers you'd spot guys teleporting 50m from other players, killing them, then teleporting to the next dude. Not sure what you'd get out of that, the mentality is beyond me. Anyway, before I rant...server recomendations please?
-
Fixed? Hell, double the running speed. With the complete lack of vehicles and horders/teleporters hiding them in one corner of the map it's needed. Sometimes I don't have 5 hours to spend running on day-z when I only have a couple hours to actually play and enjoy the game. Sometimes it's like a strange version of a track and field game the amount of time spent running..

Hello Steve Borsuk.

1. Watch. Then move on. 2. Murder, instantly. Or, depending on server numbers and what gun I had, avoid. Only because that scenario is eerily familiar. I was in Electro fire station and could hear a dude running around on the roof. I called him out on it, and heard him fall off the roof and break his leg. I peeked outside the front doors, and he's there knocked out. I got back inside and told him to crawl in - he starts spamming his gun at zombies so I help him finish them off and offer to go get some morphine in exchange for a transfusion. Off I go - hospital has none inside, so check the back. Jackpot. Get to the front door, and make sure I say over direct ''it's me, morphine''. wait. nothing. walk in, ''you are dead''. now, he could figured I was a bandit, or it could have been a different guy - who knows. if i'd murdered him and moved on, i'd have been alive regardless. at that point my KoS mentality doubled lol. 3. not sure. depends totally on if I needed to be somewhere or was planning to play for a long time. I'm mixed up. Sometimes i'll be a ass, and outright murder people for no reason at all. Other times I'll go out my way to help, then get shot because of it.

do tents ''re appear'' cuz...
Rifle Eyez replied to Rifle Eyez's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Same, I'm doing a finance diploma then my AAT accounting qualification. And I hate 9 to 5 work haha - so once I get home I just wanna chill. Not rage at hackers, then rage at my old defence against hackers, back up gear, completely disappearing! was the icing on the fat dayz rage...cake. i came on here cuz i was sure I read they return on a reset, but wanted some clarity in between my rages. i'm from uk too - newcastle. my family are all down south though. i had a mic till i stood on my headset, so i'm using seinnheisers. ordered a zalman clip on mic but it never came - waiting on amazon. my new mouse came, with the mic on the same delivery note, but nothing. in game im in kamenka - fully geared. m4 cco sd, m9sd, and as50 in my coyote. stocked with ammo, hit another tent camp on the outskirts of the map along the west. have around 15 camps marked on different servers - ms paint colour coded too haha. nerd. looking for people to play with - the two dudes i met are rarely on. one has a bad alt f4 habit everytime someone shoots within a 300m radius and the other is a bit immature and can't aim. i'm not insanely good, but i'm good enough and played since june. i like to record too... have a few great fraps'd clips =) -

Dude, I'm 24 haha. I haven't so much as seen my parents in 6 years, qq, so I'm deeply sorry if I came across as a pre-pubesant. Thing is, at the time I was furious as it was my only defence against the non stop hacker onslaught - at least I had some gear to fall back on, especially as I play solo 90% of the time. I'm struggling to think of a analogy to explain but it's easy to see why somebody may be pissed at what happened. If you have any empathy and perspective, you'd understand why I raged. It's like would you keep picking up a single player game, a RPG perhaps, that just kept knocking you back to the start? See, I suck at analogies. I had spent hours gametime creating that camp, and it's all that kept me playing as I couldn't be bothered to keep re-looting with the sheer amount of hackers. If you have a life, you'd understand. I work hard during the day, and use day-z too chill on. Not spend 90% of my time running back to my dead body as yet again im insta-killed or a dude teleports 20m in front of me. I'm totally okay with being outplayed and killed legit, just to add. And my bad, they had re-spawned when I joined a couple weeks later. All the stuff in the bags had gone however. -
Yeah, private hive for me too I think. How do I go about joining one? Any popular ones - I don't wanna be on some ultra hardcore arma 2 vet pvp server with squads of 4+ when I'm solo haha.
-
See, I'm keen to join a private hive but the only thing that is off putting is carrying gear over if I do ever hop back on public or another private hive. Also, public is nice for just meeting up with buddies or joining a new group of players - private hives you're limited to just that specific server. Also, because I'm presuming it's a tight knit on a private hive, rather than 1000's of players, I'd miss the anon-factor. if you do anything to piss of the admin or a squad your life can become very difficult. How do I go about getting on one? It's the lesser of two evils easily.
-
Haha, so true though. While day-z is a addictive game, with intense pvp action in between constant hacks...fuck, I spend 85% of gameplay just running. That running sound is forever embedded in my head now. Nothing better than having 2 hours to play, spawning in, running to a city, getting a bit of loot, running to stary, loot the tents. Running to the airfield...insta killed or teleported. Then back to running again.

Battleye ban : reason gamehack #71? ( ban on one server : de 03 )
Rifle Eyez replied to PuTBap's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Unfortunately gamehack 71 relates to using certain scripting tools which battleye has just clamped down on. You will be globally banned soon - there's been a huge ban wave recently and I literally had about a 35 man server lose 50% of players because of ''gamehack 71'' and 73 I believe. -
If you just got banned, battleye is rolling out global bans for everyone using ''certain'' hacks. My friend whom I mentioned previously who became disillusioned with all the hacking and hacked himself has just been banned. I literally think 50% of the population has just been banned, the servers look so empty and it kept coming up ''blah blah has been global banned'', finally.

To anyone thinking of hacking
Rifle Eyez replied to iOldWorld1's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
tl:dr hackers ruin the game for themselves too. novel time, but hey it's friday and i'm bored at work with a hour to kill. I can't speak from first hand experience hacking myself but a good (online) friend of mine I speak to and play with on Skype actually had enough of the hacking after spending in his word ''days and literally hours per day on end gearing up to lose it all to a 14 yr old codfag'' and started scripting himself (nothing like teleporting servers, or using it to grief however). I'm guessing this is how it's got so bad - people can't get to grips with the nature of the game (perma death) and either get angry at hackers or suck at the game and decide to hack. Either way stinks imo. Anyway, long story short he can now spawn in any vehicle, weapon and item - regardless of if they're in day-z or not, just arma. He can teleport himself, see where others are and so on. Problem is, he doesn't even WANT to play anymore. Same issue I have when using mods/using console commands on single player games. I had more fun on Skyrim on the Xbox, than I do on PC, just because mods can break the feel of the game and having the ability to spawn in anything or change anything with one button press. It just breaks the immersion of game. So not only do hackers ruin the game for everyone (and believe me, I can't play for more than 2 hours without insta-dying or my friend saying ''some dude just teleported 30m from us'' or ''all the vehicles are in one spot'' or ''theres about 15 tents full of duped items'') but it also ruins the game for themselves. Thats the sad part imo. Day-Z could be a truly epic and groundbreaking experience if played as intended (nothing gets my adrenaline rushing like it) and the hackers ruin it for themselves. The buzz you get from stalking someone who has full gear (as50, nvgs etc) while you have low tier weapons is insane. It's so satisfying getting the kill after spending 20 minutes deciding what to do and getting all that gear as a reward is awesome. It's actually a rush. But spawning in full gear with the click of a button and teleporting 20m from unsuspecting players and killing them...I can't work out how in any possible way that is satisfying or even enjoyable. -
Now, I know the subject has been recycled 1000 times and every thread that mentions it is being locked (which, I agree is fair enough) but I'm curious about something. After visiting these forums myself, how do hackers, scripters, or whatever the in name is these days so openly share and discuss hacks on hugely active forums with no punishment whatsoever? Even selling obviously stolen cd-keys which is highly illegal is allowed seemingly to take place on massive forums - which can be found with a simple google search and registered on and downloaded in 2 minutes. Hell, they even detail exactly how said hacks and bypasses work - why isn't this being slammed shut at the source? These are 16 year old script kids or basement dwellers - not exactly cyber terrorists. It's like the worlds dumbest criminals but NOTHING is being done. Maybe i'm missing something but I can't work it out in my naivete. I could understand the epidemic more if it was invite only boards or personal hacks and bypasses used by a small number of people, but these boards have 100's if not 1000's of views and posts, seemingly unregulated and easily accessed. I refuse to believe there is no action that can be taken however i'm ready to be proven wrong. Thanks.
-
I guess - the problem is dayz's nature of not respawning with full gear and players coming across from console to catch the hype and sucking. I guarentee a majority of the hackers couldnt accept the toughness of the game and then realized they could grief legit players easily due to the fact you dont respawn with full gear. I refuse to believe that more cannot be done with how public the hacks are, but i guess thats because i see the true potential of the game and sick of every game including a hack - be it spawned in gear, teleporting to straight nuking a server. I guess i can just pity the people who buy 5. Cd keys and brag about global bans
-
Haha dude im not saying that the CIA should be monitoring the situation and half the worlds law enforcement budget should be spent on arresting script kiddies. Certainly the selling of cd keys that are stolen is a criminal offense - especially when dudes openly brag about it. And on the hacking side its merely curiosity how not just in dayz but other games its out of hand but nothing can be done despite the exact methods being shared and detailed with 1000s.
-
I agree in principle that the internet is hard to regulate but this isnt the tor network or some other elaborate proxy chain in the deep internet - its basic forums with 1000s of members openly promoting hacking and selling cd keys I understand legally there probably isnt the resources to take action, or even the will too (theres probably loopholes) but even for anti cheat software - a knowledgeable person can pick apart a bypass which is posted as soon as its released
-
anyone noticed or come across the hackers teleporting directly next to or less than 30m from you? I've just seen a blatant example of it so thought i'd clog up the bandwidth of this site as that is the point after all. the occasion that just happened and made me decide to post was I was tracking a dude from cherno > stary, and was about 700m away on elevated land with my rangefinders. I literally saw a dude spawn in open fields, about 50m from a forest i'd seen a dude walk into. curious, i watched make a beeline for the wooded area the dude ran into then shots and ''blah blah was killed''. needless to say i alt f4'd instantly. i've noticed this a few times, and on another forum a dude ''counter hacked'' and said watching players and their locations was like ping pong, at least 1 or 2 people minimum per server teleporting 1000's of metres across map every 5 minutes next to or in the general area of others and running straight at them. also 90% of servers the vehicles were all spawned in one location, and at least 1 player had hacked in gear out of 40 servers, even on low pop. i know it's another qq thread, so for all the trolls and smartasses have fun telling me ''we all know its in the game, leave if you want, nobody cares, etc etc'' i feel sorry for the hackers in a strange way, how do you get any pleasure out of it? weird...also it's making me question the standalone, i appreciate we don't pay for this but i give it 2 weeks till it's overrun with hackers.
-
The 1 thing you need from the DayZ Standalone.
Rifle Eyez replied to gambles's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
One thing - damn thats tough. Assuming that the hacking situation is dealt with (or cut down 99%), then I agree with your first post. Zombie spawning. More emphasis on the zombies - rather than the afterthought that they are. I wish you could clear areas, or find ghost towns. The spawning and zombie behavior is understandably poor, but it is a mod after all and one that wasn't originally intended to feature zombies (to my knowledge). But then I could list a ton of misc things. Like more vehicles. And more ''random'' things. Think boss type zombies, bow/arrows, horseys, random ''ufo/bigfoot'' type easter eggs like I always wish gta had. Ability to write notes, use radios, safe zones for trade, better clan features - pretty much everything i've heard war-z or the standalone having. I'll go now cuz i'm going off on a tangent xD -
First gun you ever found in DayZ?
Rifle Eyez replied to edandrew95's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I remember it vividly. Was a CZ 500 from one of those long farm type buildings but not the barns with 2 staircases. I can't remember where I'd spawned, but it was near a train platform. Maybe Kormovo/Karmenka or Balota - think it was somewhere near there. Was within 10 minutes of spawning and never had a issue finding a gun since - not sure why others have so much trouble with it. I remember spotting something crawling and actually thought it was a real player and tried to make contact but it was just a crawling zombie haha. -
Shoot on sight vs The No.1 rule of DayZ
Rifle Eyez replied to Red_Sky's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Being realistic here the whole reason 95%+ of players gear up isn't too ''survive'', it's to go PVP other players regardless of if you admit it or not. Otherwise, why not just spend your time in serious low pop servers sitting in the middle of the woods for hours, then occasionally heading down to a supermarket/small town for some supplies. I don't mean straight deathmatching in cherno/electro however, but realistically once you've farmed loot and got fully geared, m4 cco sd, as50, ghillie, nvg's whatever what ELSE do you do then? I actually believe PvP is one of the most interesting parts of day-z, seeing as there's literally nothing else to do. Compared to straight PvP deathmatch games the manner in which you get into the engagement is the interesting part. It's not insta-spawn like cod, or you get all your gear back, and the map being as it is you can approach every situation differently. From 1000m away with a as50, ghillied up and in a forest overlooking a field or from 20m away ambushing a few dudes with a silenced m4. PvP is what makes day-z exciting imo. The potential to be ambushed or sniped on your next step is what keeps a majority of players playing imo. Otherwise you'd have no fear, no adrenaline rush, nothing. Then it's just a extremely poor sandbox mod with a bad variety of zombies and few enterable buildings. Hell, without PvP Just Cause 2 is a better game. And I don't purposely hunt ''new'' spawns on the coast, if anything i've been known to give them basic gear just to make their day haha. but you bet i'm nailing everyone else I come across. Although I will say I usually do try and team up or call friendly first, i wouldn't play with a dude for a hour then just kill him.
