  1. I'm currently at work. I'll play around again tonight and update my findings here. If it helps, I have just recently begun playing again after about 4 months (Obviously there have been changes since). The last time I played I never had this issue, but I recall it happening to my buddy. I am on the same PC (same parts) and the same internet connection.
  2. As I stated in my last post. I did move away and came back which worked on one grocery store, I did the same on a 2nd store and had no luck. There is absolutely 0 loot and it remains that way for over an hour after I leave the area. There are usually 1-2 zombies around, but I can walk right up to them. Sometime they react, but I can't take damage from them. (may or may not be related) This used to happen to a friend of mine 4-6mths ago(no loot/zombies), we would be unable to see each other despite being in identical locations. As we ran one player would randomly appear, then shortly thereafter reappear.
  3. I found one last night. The character holds it like he's strangling a small animal.

Maybe the ability to craft jerseys, or funny hats. Both of those are great indicators of identity.
  5. I've read in a couple of places that, like you said, it has to do with not syncing. I have a perfect internet connection, in the past rebooting everything from the PC to the Router+Modem did the trick, but last night it didn't seem to work across 5 different servers. I took someone's advice of running around and outside the spawn radius for a few and trying again. This worked for 1 of 2 stores in Berezino; on a loop back in I noticed a lot more zombies than I had before. I spent maybe 5 minutes a good ways off. However, when I approached the 2nd store I noticed no zombies and/or loot in the store. This really confused me as I assumed I was synced just 10 minutes prior. I was never able to get zombies or loot to spawn over the next hour of farming in that area. Is there a possible bug/issue that affects syncing per building? It seems too location specific to be server based.
  6. This has been happening frequently to me, I just started playing again after a good 6 month break. It used to happen to a buddy of mine, but never me. Good observation on the screen blackout; maybe it has to do with alt tabbing?
  7. Meat pie, I noticed the exact same thing as I recently came back. What you'll realize is that you're playing on a custom server where they have tweaked various settings. Apparently this is a new feature for those of us who played in the earlier days. ;) If you're like me you'll use those servers for some damn good stress relief. It's always hard to not go back to the original survival sandbox.
  8. If (I do) you are playing in 3rd person it's nearly impossible to pickup a xbow bolt. Swap to 1st person and give that a go. Rather than pressing "G" to move items over, I find it easier to press the middle mouse button down in order to just pick it up immediately.
  9. God forbid you don't enjoy the game the way this guy does, you're doing it wrong apparently.
  10. Sitting in my office as I see a roach crawling across the floor. Reminded me of my time playing DayZ. Poor guy was crawling around looking for food and/or water when all of a sudden my M107 (right shoe) ended his lonely journey across the carpet. Better luck in your next life sucker.
  11. yoouuuuu, have a snack in your trousers
  12. "Respawn" was patched out. Could be abused and could overburden servers.
  13. Misleading thread title. Thought this was an idea to take old sports cars and restore them so we can run over zombies with class.
  14. You forgot about the boobs part.
  15. I like this idea as well, but what happens when someone attracts 80% of the zombies in Elektro with a shot and runs off into the woods to easily lose them? All of a sudden Elektro becomes a ghost town! Then again I'm not to familiar with the spawn mechanics, guess if they quickly respawned in the city that would solve THAT problem.
  16. I think this idea focuses too much on how you (or a group of players) feels the game should be played. Personally, I enjoy gearing up and going on the hunt for other players. I still enjoy the survival aspect of the game because it takes time and effort to gear up, and the threat of zombies, starvation, temp, etc. are always a factor. I think you could create positive and negative incentives like this, but ultimately if I pay $30 for a game to survive long enough to go play some PvP that's what I plan to do. It seems the real dilemma is creating a sandbox game that offers a perfectly balanced scheme of options.
  17. Wow, is that animated over the top of a legit water color? If so I'm curious how many paintings you did, and if it's all computer generated... I'm still impressed.
  18. Maybe they could randomly show up to your campfires and instruct you on how to properly extinguish the fire.
  19. Damn dude... Why don't you go back and litter their campsite with empty cans while you're at it. People these days... Also, now you can go apologize. http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/54336-tent-question/
  20. Perhaps you're actually playing Skyrim and you've turned into a vampire. Common problem.
  21. Stash your shit, go box with a zombie, start running.
