    Graphic Issue

i updated to 1.7.2.5 and 95583....still having the artifacts pop up at balota airfield, green mountain, NW airfield and berizo today (yea i travelled around a bit :P) flushing didn't really do the trick for me, after 6, 7 times it becomes better for a short while but they pop up again after like 5-10 mins. my graphics card is a Geforce GTX580 with latest drivers from nvidia
  2. Yes, can't login to my usual server FR191, updated to latest patch, but can't login to any server at all

    More vehicles. Mostly cars

kinda agree with triscuit, only seen a vehicle once and it was a fresh spawn, meaning someone lost his little red car...took it for a ride and then left it...came back next day and it was gone, probably stashed some place deep into the woods now. so instead of asking for more vehicles, go into the woods and try to find those vehicles and either steal them or blow them up. i definately like the idea of having to maintain a car with replacing parts after some time.

    Rant about you veterans

that Kamenka episode is probably some 12 year old, as practically nobody goes to Kamenka, there is nothing there...feel sorry for you but everyone has these kind of stories....would suggest that if you want to gear up to choose a lower population server, less chance of running into people.
  5. i can honestly say i've never duped an item and currently i'm running around with a L85 AWS2 and a Bison silenced submachine gun and cameo clothing. How did i manage to get that? I guess by getting really lucky, the last 3 days we ran into a helicopter crash each day and found some really nice weapons. The cameo clothing I found in a deer stand i believe. so it isn't because of duping or hacking but my travelling the map and hitting as many deer stands, supermarkets,....as possible.

    Crafting

ok, just spewing some thoughts, not sure if they are even a possibility but here it goes: you could give everyone on the server the chance to collect some sort of resources to build a camp with some specialty buildings that require additional or harder to find resources. for example: wooden planks and bricks to make a building. in order to make wooden planks, you would need a hatchet, saw. for making bricks you would need a shovel to dig up clay and an oven to make those bricks etc. Those tools would all need to be found in the open world and some of the resources could be relocated every few days - like today there is a clay pit on location x, the next day it is on another random location. This would force players to venture into the world and always scout for those spots in order to maintain their buildings. Buildings would also decay over time, so maintaining them is needed and you are forced to either stock some extra resources or go out regularly to collect more. Specialty buildings could be: agriculture for food, tailor for specialty clothing (different cameo outfits for example, or different backpacks in different colors), armory for ammo and weapons (the rarer the weapon the more components or parts needed) All the resources needed to run these buildings would come from the open world (agriculture would need seeds, plenty of water, fertilizer - all found in the open world and with different % spawns like fertilizer only to be found in farms with a 15% spawn chance...you get the picture) the camp could be instanced, on a separate server, linked to your account id instead of your character, meaning if your character dies and you start a new one, you can still access your camp (as long as the maintenance was paid). Camps could also be clan owned - with an access list based on account ids of the members of the clan.
  9. oh hell no...no raids, dungeons, "bosses", rare loot that drops bosses...there are plenty of other online games out there that do just that. and in the middle of a zombie apocalypse, playing house seems so wrong to me :P
  10. i would suggest to play on a lower pop server till you know where you can find the gear you need (supermarkets, deer stands, orange houses, barns) especially barns are good for finding starter primary weapons like a double barreled shotgun or winchester...the shotgun is pretty useless but the winchester is a really nice starter weapon.

    DayZ Standalone Confirmed

i'm happy for the whole team behind Dayz mod...hope they can make a hell of a game out of it that will keep be hooked for a long long time.

    Full release - Map discussion

a larger map with even bigger cities (especially liked the idea of a subway and skyscrapers), varied terrain (mountains with snow terrain perhaps which would require more clothing than normal on your character perhaps?), more enterable buildings and more varied building types (not just black and orange houses and stores :P) Most important for me is however to stay true to the feeling of an open, WIDE world, where you actually loose time to travel from place to another and have to think where you go before you start running off blindly. As for the setting: doesn't really matter to me, nice topic btw.

How do i loose the chasing zombies?

I can confirm the running downhill...was running down a steep hill with 2 of them after me, all of a sudden they were in front of me, seemed to be like falling down and dieing cause of it...I was like "WTF...cool"

Where to find the good stuff ?

look for helicopter crashes i would say...a friend & i found 2 days in a row a crashed helicopter, first one "only" had abundant medical supplies but the 2nd one had a L85A2 AWS (NV and thermal scope), an FN FAL and a M249 SAW with 3 ammo boxes each box containing 200 bullets, so we were pretty exctatic after that, certainely because i was still running around with a hatchet. If you play solo i can imagine those helicopter crash site can be a challenge due to the number of zombies and the fast respawn rate but they are definately worth it.
