A large part of me is ecstatic about Day Z being a standalone game. A small, financially aware part of me is bummed because i'm gonna have to buy another game.

Try hopping on one of the Non-Hive Servers, the characters you make on those servers are specific to that server only and are in no way connected to the character you make on a normal server. Bit of a warning though, Non-Hive servers attract alot of hackers/scripters.

Question: If you are running through the woods and a frickin TANK comes rolling up to you....is that a VALID excuse to ALT - F4?

I assume you bought the game on Steam? 1. Go into your Steam Library 2. Right click ARMA 2 3. Got to Properties and select Local Files 4. Click on Verify Integrity of Game Cache 5. Do the same for ARMA 2: OA 6. Try joining a server. I hope this helps you. B)

Sorry to Ressurect this topic but I just had one of these! Im crouch running around the wall of the NW Airfield, expecting to get shot as soon as I pop my head into the perimeter.. When suddenly, I hear a MOTORCYCLE! I immediatly sh*t a brick and hit the deck, it gets closer....and closer... Then suddenly, I spot a guy in a Guillie Suit on a bike...and he DROVE RIGHT BY ME! I pop 5 DMR shots at him and he falls like a sack of potatoes. I deal with the zombies it had attracted and walk over to him to inspect my goodies when suddenly *pop pop* OH SH*T! I hit the deck and I spot a guy near the gate popping shots at me. AAAAAND....They ALL miss! I Proceed to put a bullet in his skull. I run into the woods,lose the zombies and watch the bodies for a bit. I hear the third member of their gang hop on the cycle and sped off like a bat out of hell. I collect my goodies, hide the bodies, and get the hell out of there. Safe to say I felt like I was gonna vomit my heart. In hindsight I should have taken a screenie for proof before hiding the bodies but I was panicked lol. Hope you enjoyed reading.

Well, Rocket also said he wanted to implement a Suicide Option inwhich your character would go through a suicide animation with a sidearm but is afraid of the political backlash of CNN and such. So, i'm not sure if he would be cool with adding killable children. (They also sound like a huge pain in the ass to keep around.) Well, this point has been made before but I agree. If this game had no Friendly Fire and everyone was on the same side it would get boring very quickly. Sneaking up to a town, constantly thinking your head could explode at anytime is part of the fun. People crying about dieing should think of this game in the same light as they would play Dark Souls. You ARE going to die, when you die is yet to be determined.

Yeah, I sometimes find it irritating that every zombie is trained in the art of Mike Tyson's Punch Out. But, more annoying than that is getting hit once at 12000 healh and breaking a bone. That makes me hit the roof.
