    New RCON Tool

    So here is the deal. I have been working on an RCON tool, but so many have been springing up and I'm not sure I should continue. I am going to outline my plans and see if anyone would still be interested in yet another one being available. 1.) Multiple server support. - You can add infinite number of servers and each one can have its own settings and be managed independantly all from teh same interface. - You will select which server you want to manage and the GUI will change all the tabs for the info for that server. 2.) Logging of everything. - Parsing of all the logs (scripts and RPT (as long as it's around)) and making them easier to read and logging them. - Parsing chat log of all kinds. - Player history (including name changes) 3.) Active player list view - This will allow for GUID based amining. You can use this to allow members of your clan to kick/message/ ect... without them needing teh RCON password. They can just type !kick 1 <reason> in chat and it will determine based on their name/guid if they have permissions. 4.) Basic RCON Functionality - Kick, Ban, Message from the GUI for each server. 5.) API - Will allow other apps to utilize this tool via iPhone, websites, Android, ect... 6.) Server management - Log rotation - Auto server restarts - On demand restarts 7.) Player tracing - Will trace a players activities through all logs to aid in hacker detection. 8.) Hack detection - Automatically kick/ban people for using known hacks or having weapons that are not in the game. 9.) Timed messages to allow messages to be sent every X seconds,minutes, ect.... I know that most of these options are available by some of the other great tools that are being developed and I have other projects that I c an be working on if people don't think there is a need for this one.   2. Hey all server admins. I wrote a real small tool to help in researching bullshit players and possible hackers. I thought I would post it here just in case anyone else might find it useful. It's very small and extremely simple to use. On your first launch, it will aks you to select where your RPT file is stored. It will save it for future runs. You will then see a screen that looks like this on top: Simply put in the players name you are trying to research and click Analyze and it will put their actions in order and remove everything else for you to make reviewing them a little simpler. It also find their playerNumber and searches for lines by name and ID to make it more thorough. Lastly, you can click the save button to save the results to a text file for sharing or further review later. Again, nothing spectacular, but it has made our lives a bit simpler.     New RCON Tool

    Hey all. It is something that is still in the works, but has been slightly delayed due to issues IRL, as well as with my RCON tool. Furthermore, with the stand-alone coming soon, i'm not 100% sure developing something now is the most intelligent thing to do. Might be better to wait until that is released.

    Banned on US 1211 (Admin ban)

    Since you came in to ask for the removal, I will give you the benfit of the doubt and say that this was a server glitch. If you are legit, and not cheating, apologies for the ban. We just don't take any chances, and when someone spawns something, they get banned, since no matter what it is, they usually start small and then go big. Thanks for the post. Ban has been lifted.
  6. If a request gets to big, the server will send more than one data-gram back with the reply. It probably isn't taking that into account....

    I don't believe this is possible without running scripts, which could then be detected as hacks. I think the best thing to do is to look for un welcomed weapons and alert a play that it is not valid and they should drop it to avoid being removed from the server. There are still a lot of fine details that I am not sure of yet. I don't know exactly how I am going to handle some of the functionality just yet, but I know everything I listed in the OP is possible. I am always willing to listen be open to pepopel that have more experience with the ArmA II server engine. I have loads of experience with CoD and Battlefield, but this is new to me.

    Yea - they seem to target the higher population servers more. We just have to wait. Things will eventually get squared away (hopefully).

    I shuold have something running in a week or two. Wont be pretty or awesome yet, but will be functional. I am doing it in parallel with Paronicon 2, so it doesn't get all of my spare time. I will keep this post updated and check items off as I get them complete. Will get a BEAT out as soon as I can.

    Load times in 1.7.2.4

    I'm not sure this is entirely accurate either though. We are on 95417 and our load times are good once the server is started (in and playing within 30 seconds). Over time they get worse and after about 5 hours of being live, it takes about 2 minutes. Still not terrible, but not too bad. I think it's just the servers. It's hit or miss on how they are configured and when they have been rebooted.

    That is odd. Not sure why it would be doing that. Several things though. 1.) Paronicon is NOT the tool that will be used to manage the DayZ servers. It is for CoD games only. 2.) The file is hosted through S3, so I have absolutely no idea why chrome would throw a flag for that. 3.) I do not get this error on any computer I try, as well as a couple of my close friends. 4.) This really isn't the best place for that topic. If you want more help to prove it's legit, you should move that conversation to the GSN Forums. Thanks

    Searching for help on crashing

    Also, 0xC00000005 is a common error. It means that a piece of software/driver tried to access memory that is not in it's addressable space. It is usually cause by 1.) Run out of RAM 2.) Bad RAM 3.) Bug in software/driver. You can go further to debug something like this, but you are talking about using WinDBG - which would entail the installation of the Windows SDK. It would be a long drawn out process and you are still not guaranteed to get anywhere since you don't have the debug symbols and the stack traces would be useless to someone that doesn't have the code. I would recommend wiping everything related to the sound card/direct x and try them again. Also, just for fun, try disabling all sound related hardware in the device manager and play the game without sound at all. See if that yields any different results.

    The faulting module listed is a DirectX Audio file. Perhaps something with directx or your sounds card is to blame? Do you have a different sound card to attempt to run the game with (onboard/off-board).

    Have you tested the RAM. If a fresh OS with fresh drivers does the same thing, I would be inclined to blame RAM next.

  23. I can't believe this thread has gone this long about a "qq in a qq" and a picture of Xzibit hasn't made it into it yet....
  24. img.paronity.com is merely a DNS redirect to cl.ly cl.ly is a domain for CloudApp (FluffyApp) to share files. If I moved it to my personal domain/server, I am sure the error would go away. Chrome is probably hating on cl.ly.
