    This is my video of my first 2 hours in game. We get to Elektro and get into a very large group. This is the first time ever in dayz I have played friendly in Elektro. Hope you all enjoy.     I was not trying to go off in a rant. or anything like that. Just posting that both the Arma 3 mod and SA will have things that will promote it and hurt it. I just think the Community here at Dayz Mod is what is making this game. Not the game devs. I know most of the modders in arma and dayz are looking at arma 3 to move forward, for Dayz Sa will not be allowing modders.

    The images and videos you see of SA buildings is just a skin. Textures are very easy to do. It is the models that take time. We all know the Models and AI in the mod suck. This is forsure the week point of the mod. The Community has already added new models and AI path finding the the mod. Look at Orgins and MMMyum's new zombie AI http://opendayz.net/...eds-more.10345/ . The Arma/Dayz Community has 10 time the talented programers, Models and Artists then Dayz SA team does. All the Dayz ( Dean Hall) fanboys need to open your eyes. Dayz SA will be very limited to what the mod is now. SA will never get to where the mod will be. Now we all know they talk about pushing all the work to the server. But this can be done now in Arma 2 and Arma 3. And it has been done. I have seen arma 2 servers that fully run all the loot and Spawning work on the server side. In the end there will be nothing wrong with Standalone. It will just lack a lot of content and options that the mod has. I really feel the Arma 3 Dayz mod or whatever it will be called in the end will out live Standalone if they do not allow the community in. Also I hate the Underground base building idea. We see in Orgins and Epoch that above ground base building works and Fps is fine.

    The swimming is just one of the big deals in arma 3 and it will be in the Dayz Arma 3 mod. buildings in arma 3 are much better then arma 2. Taking the arma 2 content into arma 3 is not idea. but using the arma 3 content to make a new dayz mod will be amazing.

    IMO Dayz should have been a part of Arma 3. You buy Arma 3 you get Dayz SA for free. That would have been cool and worth the money .

    the gamechanger from Arma 3 to Dayz SA is this .. Arma 3 will have Dx11 Dayz SA will not. Arma 3 will have Ragdoll, Dayz SA will not .. Arma 3 night time effects are based of real world data. Dayz Sa will not .. Arma 3 will be open community modding tools .. Dayz SA will not .. Arma 3 will offer so much more to a zombie game than what Dayz SA can. All Arma 2 content also is fully ported over to arma 3. So content is not limited. In Dayz SA you will not likey see cars in the first 12 months of development . Dayz SA has some great ideas but locking it down and not allowing the community to add to it is what is going to hurt them. Mods like orgins and Epoch are the reason Dayz is still going today.

    Lots. And we are not even in Beta yet. Wait until Jun 25th when the beta comes out. They are adding so much to arma 3. But by far the best thing is the ragdoll effect in arma3. Zombies deaths are now epic.

  14. Dude the Mod and Standalone will Run Side by Side. Community will control the Mod. The BI Devs will control the Standalone. Rocket wants the Community to control the Mod can come up with Cool new ideas for the Standalone. The standalone will be fully locked down. NO MODDING ALLOWED. If you want to mod dayz or help add content, you will have to do it in the Mod and the BI devs will look at it and if the idea is good they will look at adding it to the Standalone. So why would the Mod stay in ARMA 2 ???
  15. Rocket has posted a number of times that The Standalone and Mod will run side by side. They will not stop working on the mod just cause standalone is out. The Community is Now in control of the Mod. Why would they stay within Arma 2 when Arma 3 is out. Arma 3 is closer to what the Standalone is at then Arma 2. So when the Community moves forward adding crazy and cool ideas to the mod for Rocket and his dev team to look it. It only makes sence at this point to move fully into Arma 3. Why would you stay modding in old software.

Dayz is coming to Arma 3.. Not only that. But look at this http://www.reddit.com/r/arma/comments/19sjsc/ of arma 2 maps have been ported over. It is in arma 2 textures, but it is working. Last thing needed to get Dayz working is the Arma 2 dayz Zombie models ported over to arma 3 it will be fully working. I can not see this taking more then a few weeks for the Very talented modders to get this working ..
  17. This is too all that say porting dayz to arma 3 is a bad idea. Have you all forgot that Rocket said that the Standalone will be locked down and the mod will be open for modding and community ideas. I think 100% that dayz will move into arma 3. It is the only right thing to do if they are going to keep the Mod running side by side with the standalone. Keeping the Mod in Arma 2 is wrong once Arma 3 is release.

  22. As it looks like they will be starting to work on the crafting system for dayzgame. I thought now would be a good time to post my ideas in detail, as I feel crafting is the heart of the game. If done right the crafting system will keep this game alive for years to come. Now when it comes to crafting is sandbox games all I can think of is no limits. We need to have a few different levels of crafting . We need to have harvesting, crafting and disassembly. We will start with harvesting. Harvesting: There is more to this then you think. It really will be the hard of the crafting system if done like i explain. The system needs to have mining and wood harvesting and crops . As for the mining. Setup areas that can be mined. On a random chance you would get a grade of metal, sliver, gold from that ground. Start the grade at 1 and go up to 100. Higher the grade better the metal. Crafting: Now when you take that metal and melt it down in your smelting to craft say a sheet of metal. It would have a grade setup based off its grade of raw metal . But it does not stop there. When you are crafting your tools will effect the craftsmanship of the outcome of the product. So if you are using and old rusty tool you found to craft that sheet of metal . That too would change the grade of the sheet of metal. Aloow players to take items from within the world to rebuild other items within it. So if i found a Shotgun and tin cans and bottles . Let me put those together to build some crazy gun with a bottle as a scope or something like that Disassembly: Now here is where it gets a bit crazy, and most game companys will not put in the time to do this idea. Allow every item in game, Crafted or not to be broken down into a set amount of peaces . For exmaple . IF i had a DMR and ran out of bullets. Allow me to keep the mags from the gun. Now I have empty DMR mags .. Ok now what. Allow me to go to my workbench, break down other rounds of ammo . pull the gunpower from those guns. Now allow me to go smelt ammo caseings from what every melt i have. Reload the ammo into the dmr mag. Now in chance if you build your own ammo, give there a chance the gun could blow up. These are just some very small ideas on what can be done. In t he end i would like to see the crafting system not held back. For exmaple .. I would like to build a reload ammo station.. I would first have to gather the mats need to build the workbench, then build the tools to redo the ammo . Take new say DMR ammo that i have to remake the casings. Build a blueprint for each thing . Once the blueprint is built you would then have a set amount of mats needed to remake that ammo mag. You could use whatever metals you wished but the higher grade metals use within the craft would up the damge and live of the live of the item. I just talked about weapon crafting, but this can be one within clothing, armor , and addons to the world. Things like base building cars and so on. Again there is no limit in crafting. As this is a sandbox game, I hope the crafting is a true sandbox setup as well..

    Old school blacksmithing is not dead and would likey be something that would be likey in this kind of world. I reload my ammo now .. Can not belive poeple would not be doing it in a setting like dayz. They would pick up all shells
