Quick question from a newb. What method do you guys use to out-run zombies? I spend my entire time crawling through towns (and electrko) because im terrified of aggroing zombies. The seem to follow you forever and just aggro more while you are running. sometimes i can lose them for a quick second (LOS) and prone. But sometimes this doesn't work at all.

Bandits don't do it for the loot. You already need good quality gear to be an effective bandit. They likely have all they need already. They just enjoy seeing you fall. So essentially, they are the ones smiling.

It won't be long before everybody is running around doing this and it will be really fucking lame and annoying. People just spamming helicopter sounds everywhere doesn't really make it a simulation

Or is it part of the buggy play? Sometimes I can crawl right past one, other times i can be prone and still, and a zombie from down the street will be running at me... Also, what is the best difficulty to play? Some people I have seen say that recruit servers have name tags (lame if you ask me) while others say that is false

I've been playing this game for the best part of the week and have only found basic pistols (markov, revolver) and one Winchester. I've slowly learned what building are worth risking to search but they are either empty or just full of ammo. FML. I like to be self-sustaining and live in the wild (haven't yet succeeded) so priorities for me so far have been: Any sort of firearm Hatchet Hunting Knife Matches Water Bottle couple of bandages painkillers

So! I finally got myself a M1911, Revolver, a sniper rifle (empty) loads of food and drink, a water bottle, a hunting knife and matches! Great! I decide i can go head in land and maybe become self-sustaining with my items if i find a good spot (near a barn/deer stand and fresh water). On my run through the woods inland I spot a barn, and think that i can hopefully replace this empty sniper rifle with something more useful. I surveyed the area with the scope, no players and only a few zombies and decide the risk is worth it! I crouch-walk my way there, and prone when i can see the Zs. As I get close, I see a crawler from maybe 40 meters away start running straight at me in my prone position. I think this is no problem, and aim ready with my revolver right at his chest. I hit him once, he keeps coming and manages to get a hit off on me. I am now unconcious while he eats me from one fucking hit. My blood was around 9k. What bullshit! While it was fun I don't like the idea of being one-shot by things that can bug-aggro and run through walls. Back to running on the coast i guess...

This would explain why I've lost the best equipment i have had so far. Revolver hit a Z 2 times, he hits me once to knock me out cold! Fuck!

It hasn't always looked like this, just during this one 'day'. Basically the colour has sort-of been sapped out of the game and everything had a very 'greyish' look to it. Could this be some sort of lack of blood (im around 5000) or another issue rather than a technical one?
