I understand your frustration as a fanboy, but please try to keep it objective without flaming. 1, How is that bullshit? It's common sense the first place he is going to look for new members of his team are people he has previously worked with. Please don't allow your love of DayZ blind you from probability 2. Rocket did say SA isn't what he had hoped. You can find it on reddit if you so wish. Please refrain for flaming and keep to the topic as it does your argument absolutely nothing but show you are emotional about what I have posted.

Rocket standing down from Dayz by end of year
kragz replied to Hetstaine's topic in General Discussion
Your argument is invalid. Did Half-life plagiarize Doom? Whether something is new or groundbreaking is irrelevant. Surely it's the quality of the game - which you just admitted some do it better. Do you only play games on how groundbreaking they are regardless of how shitty they may be? -
Rocket standing down from Dayz by end of year

Oh well, guess Rust is the game to look out for in the future! -
I've played the mod for well over a year now and standalone since its release. One of my major gripes with the current state of SA is that it appears to me the direction in which sound is coming from (most specifically gunshots) does not seem to be accurate. I have MAJOR problems locating players who are shooting at me even if they are within 20-50m away. I have never experienced this in the mod, and often have relied open being shot at FIRST so I can locate the culprit. Does anybody else find this an issue or have a technical explanation for why this happens? Yes, my headphones are on the correct way.

Basically, Dean is taking the money and doing a runner. So much for DayZ being his 'baby'

When I get a triple kill on a group of people asking if I'm friendly I hit 4 for a care package.

Yes yes it's alphur, but i was wondering how people spend their time playing this game for anything more than 10 hours. 40 player servers mean you rarely meet anybody other than new spawns at the coast or server hoppers at the military bases and there seems nothing to do other than collect beans. While I like the improved FPS i get on SA, I decided to go back to the MOD and forgot how much fun it is. Combat is so much more satisfying - guns feel much more useful - and I actually feel like I'm at risk running around the woods far away from the coast.

Are people opting to play SA more than the mod?
kragz replied to kragz's topic in General Discussion
Thanks for the responses guys, but part of my question was what do you actually spend your time doing in SA since there is relatively so little to do. -
My bad, it was moved to an appropriate thread. Delete thread

Imagine players sitting outside of elektro hospital doped up on morphine playing that on direct chat :D

Of course that's my opinion, who else's would it be? It's true, but graphics tend to be rather arbitrary in gameplay experience for me -
You develop a dependency to opiates from frequent use of painkillers/morphine over a short space of time. Using morphine or taking excess painkillers should have the same effect as the 'vials' on Deus Ex. It also allows people to roleplay junkies and possibly create a demand and large value to these medical supplies.

You can do the stealth thing already. Just alt tab for a decent amount of time until you get the red chain, then run in and the zombies wont even budge :)

Death animations on this game are absolutely abysmal! The kind we saw at the turn of the millennium before any sort of dynamic reaction to death. This makes for really unsatisfying combat - particularly against zombies and I suspect that this leads partly to the KOS mentality all the 'role-players' sat at their computers in full camo gear are crying so extensively about. As much as I prefer this to any of its clones, Rust definitely has the jump on it here. Killing is way, way more satisfying.

Not sure how 'considering' translates to 'will'. Must be a problem with German to English translation I guess.

No need to be a cunt and link me to lmgtfy. I've already seen that video and some random scouser speculating about SA ragdoll last summer with no source isn't news. So both your posts are unhelpful and useless.

They should add bikes as they are now, but they should only spawn at Gvozdno

FPS great after server restart. ~10 fps 20 minutes later
kragz posted a topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
After the server restart my FPS usually starts around 25-35. While most of you may frown at such numbers but this drops dramatically to around 8-10 (in elektro) about 20-30 minutes after the restart has happened and will stay atrocious until the restart. My question is, why is this? And any way besides upgrading I can improve? I run everything on its absolute lowest already. -
I will be burning books. Print is dead.

Why are people complaining about KOS like it's a feature issue?
kragz posted a topic in General Discussion
It's part of DayZ and always will be. I like to sometimes KOS, or sometimes communicate before I kill depending on how I feel. If you want to run around in the woods making bases than there is a game called Minecraft available on Xbox Live Arcade. Just make sure you ask permission from your parents before you subscribe! Peace out. -

kragz replied to kragz's topic in General Discussion
"pointless" KOS is not pointless. There's nothing better than knowing people like Mercules are fresh spawning on the coast and alt-tabbing to spend their entire day posting about it on the forum. Those kind of tears taste so, so sweet :) -
I'm of the Opinion that KoS will be shorted sight and wasteful....
kragz replied to [email protected]'s topic in General Discussion
You're exaggerating the % of KOS in this game. You're still missing the point that this hypothetical post apocalyptic is likely to create people into 'monsters' who lie outside of that demographic. Perhaps most importantly you're missing the point that this is a game more than it is a simulation. if the vast majority are by your own admission kos then that puts you in a tiny minority and the fact you object to that play style suggests this game is not for you. Perhaps try minecraft or the sims. All you come across as is just one giant whine, -

No need to get so narky. How has this discussion upset you so much? The reason I brought up the pen was because you dismissed me to go play some other FPS because there's no kill log. I argued against that point, you concede and try to get offensive. No need for that! It's just a game after all! This game was built with SANDBOX in mind. That ALLOWS you to kill as many people as you want and log it with a pen if you will, or if you don't. Think about that. I've said it before, if you have such an issue with it then seriously this game might not be for you! You're missing the point on Maslow. Yes, you can kill on sight everybody you see and use PEOPLE as a resource. Another legitimate way of playing the game. MY point was, however, that without basic needs, shelter, water etc, morality and reason can often go out of the window, as well as one's sanity. This is a plausible role for what seems to be an insatiable need for role-playing on your part. The red herring accusation came from your LIE about me using a strawman in order to avoid answering the difficult questions I asked. Nothing to do with KOS. Please don't pretend otherwise. Here's the part where you were talking about respawns: nti-social behaviour would probably be compounded by an apocalypse, but guess what, those guys will probably die off fairly quick and don't respawn at the coast and run to the firehall for a new gun. Oh, and 99% of the population isn't anti-social/psychotic so we could use a few less people choosing to play that role. You take issue with the fact that people who KOS can respawn, but those, like yourself, that play 'House' in the woods, you have no issue with being able to respawn. You can't have the argument both ways, Pal. You talked about all these things and flat-out deny them to fall-back on logical fallacy as a scapegoat. The way you're going on about them I do wonder if you've just recently learned of them, which would explain why you sent such a remedial link. A middle-aged man should know better! -

kragz replied to [email protected]'s topic in General Discussion
No, you're clearly, once again, bringing up a red herring to ignore the points I made. You are being intellectually dishonest. Please address the following points, for the third time, with regards to your argument about KOS attitude: Kills can be logged with a pen. Educate yourself on Maslow. No respawns is a bad idea. Thanks.
