Why does everyone want me dead?
Alchemist349 replied to ScottishOwl's topic in New Player Discussion
Except the "people" that play this game like a deathmatch know that and more people have been killed for trusting someone who initially appears friendly than anything else at this point I think. -
Would you call what goes on in most of the servers and this forum "community"?

Suggestion: Ability to throw meat to distract zombies?
Alchemist349 replied to richard_b's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Surely this depends on the type of zombie?, I don't think I've ever seen a zig-zagging Usain Bolt Zombie in any film or game before so we're obviously dealing with something new (28 days zombies were fast, but would you bet on them over 100m against our zombies, I don't think so). If this worked I would totally use it but it shouldn't be a guaranteed thing, maybe only pulling some zombies away for a short period of time. -
Good idea, its not as though you'rd throw good mags away on the range just because you'd run out of rounds. Although perhaps if you were combat reloading, one might get lost now and then in the panic, just to keep things real. Hell, If we're going that way, let people banana-clip mags together for faster reload, lower accuracy.

Simple suggestion, make Night Vision (NVG) and Thermal Goggles (TI) require batteries to operate so that people can't keep them on constantly, IRL you'd need to change NVG every 3-4 nights and TI every night.

The ONLY Realistic Way to Prevent Deathmatching: Make DayZ a Living Hell
Alchemist349 replied to Time Glitch's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
You want realistic?, make it so you can't properly bandage yourself, if you do yourself you only slow the bleeding, not stop it. Having applied a combat applique tourniquet (C.A.T), Morphine and a good slapping to a guy who'd been hit with a 7.62 round I can confirm you're not in your right mind, the guy tried to bandage his good leg FFS. -
Dogs / Children / Other Followers
Alchemist349 replied to DemonGroover's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I was considering something similar the other day, a random chance to spawn with an AI wife/husband, Child or dog or something similar, perhaps some kind of bonus for keeping them round (would need to be worthwhile for all the sociopaths this mod seems to attract). The downside obviously being you have NPC's to look after and feed, you can leave them behind somewhere "safe" but we all know what 90% of the playerbase would do if they came across your "family". -
To stop a zombie/survivor team-up just have zombie players randomly spawn AI zombies nearby occasionally, A single AI zombie could do some damage to a group if they're caught unawares. Also, rather than spawn immediately as a zombie, you should have to die from a non-headshot, and then respawn on a certain button press (so you can do it when its most convenient/pant-shittingly terrifying for the person looting you) as a zombie in the same location. You'd want the person who killed you to come closer so you can gnaw his leg off but at the same time if he puts one through your skull its back to the beach and no zombie-play for you.

Look out for prostitutes disappearing in the OP's home town sometime soon judging by that post. -
I finally gave in and started using an online map this morning after doing three or four MASSIVE loops completely by accident. Every time I thought I was headed north but every time I'd top a ridge to find myself facing the coast near Elektro again. Maybe once I'm a bit further North I can stop using it but if I'd seen that same view of the coast a fifth time, I'd have put one through my own skull just to start somewhere else.
