  1. You are indeed. The creators of DayZ have ownership on the intellectual parts of DayZ. That means they own the mod copyright and rights but they have probably not trademarked it yet. Think about it: If you made something, a mod or other thing. Would you not own it and call it yours? That's in a simple way of how copyright works. It's a mod so from what I have read about copyright and infringement you can monetize videos on youtube from it without problems, as long as you acknowledge in the videos that you are playing DayZ, a game mod you did not make or own. Once you start going "Yeah I made DayZ and this is gameplay from it" you are in the wrong.
