I bought it, but that was a while ago before the standalone was announced. I've advised others to wait, but then if you want to experience the original mod and its own particular style then you should buy it. TL;DR You must follow your own path

I think zombies should be able to grab hold of you, and you have to bash/bludgeon/shoot them to get them to let go, this way you could get into trouble quickly if a couple of them get a hold of you and more come charging in, a bit more like traditional zombies. Maybe this could be combined with a reduction in zombie speed if they become too difficult. Thoughts?

Not suggesting as a QTE mechanic, but where if a zombie grabs you, your movement speed is reduced and you need to kill it before more come.

Agreed, without PVP this game would be boring, it's not for zombies that I'm scouting out every route and staying in cover and weighing up the risk of everything, and I play as a survivor not a bandit. EVE is similar in that the best thing about the game is the PVP, as a pure MMO it is really dull and so many people don't get that and want to play the dark unforgiving MMO then just sit in hi-sec farming endless missions. -

The best bandits mentally torture their prey before killing them, or maybe if the are feeling particularly generous, breaking their legs and leaving them to crawl for miles to the nearest hospital. -
