Wow so many whiny children, I feel bad for Rocket and the Dayz Team. If these children only knew the complexity in designing a game. I for one am happy that they even allowed us to play in Alpha, they didn't have to do that at all. They could have been like most game companies and had a closed beta that a select few could join but instead let everyone play even before beta. I knew what I signed up for buying a game in alpha, breaks in the game don't bother me one bit because its in ALPHA. If these kids cant realize that alpha is used to spot and find errors that need to be fixed before release then I wish they would stop playing and harassing the Dayz team. Then they wouldn't have to filter through all your petty nonsense and could actually read posts that had new bugs they weren't aware of or posts containing supportive criticism. You know how honored I would be to be allowed to get into and test other games in alpha just to help them find bugs and fix them? So I say thanks to Rocket and the Dayz Team for allowing me to participate in the Alpha testing of Dayz and look forward to the beta and eventual release. -
Exactly what I want to see, a little more dependency on other players, while not punishing playing solo.

Finally a zombie game that draws you into the world and lets me wander wherever I please. A game that immerses me so much into the character that the decisions I make are probably the same that I would in a real life scenario. All the variables with every action that I make keep me on the edge of me toes and my heart racing throughout the entire experience. When I die I look forward to starting a new character and the items I may come across that I never had before. Here are just a few suggestions that I wouldn’t mind being added, if they don’t then I don’t care because I still love how real the game is to me. Perhaps add more realism like this to a higher difficulty and keep regular servers the same? I don’t want other players thinking I’m suggesting these things because I hate PvP, that’s not the case. I just want more of a challenge, I’ve played the bandit role and I’ve played the survivor role they both are fun. Without the bandits this game would get dull fast, I would never have any fear of running into stary or NW airfield because it’s rather simple to outrun zombies. In fact I don’t fear zombies at all, most of the time I just run into where I’m going without bothering to sneak in because I run faster than the zombies. Walk into the supermarket grab some food and soda, walk out the back door and sprint into the woods where they will stop aggroing me after a while. Some of the changes I’m recommending will curb this to an extent, I want it to, I want to fear zombies as much as I fear the bandits. I want every action and every item I use to potentially have a consequence, just like in real life. I would like to see more dependency with other players as well. Running solo is fun, what even better is when I need to find someone for a blood transfusion. When I find someone, that few seconds gauging whether he’s trustworthy or not, the real life tension, I find myself holding my breath. Then the 5 second firefight that ensues and the adrenaline rush I get from it, whether I live or die, made the game that much better. The real emotions from this game far surpass any other like it. New - Sprint Meter Cause - No more unlimited sprint, make it limited and variable depending on other circumstances. Effect - Would require you to make a more stealthy and tactical approach when entering towns. Would make the map seem larger by increasing travel times on foot. Potentially increase dependency on other players to survive. New - Fatigue Meter Cause - More items in your inventory, sprinting, climbing hills. Effect - Sprint meter drains more rapidly, makes it more difficult to just run from zombies which would make zombies more dangerous. Makes dehydration meter drain at an increased rate. Would make players choose more carefully on what’s in their inventory. A player may have to choose to carry only one firearm and extra water or medication instead of a sniper rifle, handgun and assault rifle because one food and water bottle will last him an entire run across the map. Potentially increase dependency on other players. Change - Temperature Meter Cause - Make the temperature meter go up instead of just down. Spending long periods of time in the sun. Effect - The symptom listed below - exposure New Symptom - Exposure Cause - Long period of time spent exposed under the sun. Effect - Makes dehydration meter drain at an increased rate. Increases the amount of water one must consume to replenish dehydration meter. Remedy - Spend time in a building or under shade to make it go away. Change - Dehydration Meter Cause - Double the current duration of the dehydration meter but different actions will dehydrate you faster. Sprinting increases dehydration rate by 20%, Exposure by 10%, backpack half full by 20% and a full backpack would increase it by 40%. Make these rates stack so a player sprinting with a full backpack and under the effects of exposure would dehydrate 90% faster. When under extreme dehydration you can no longer sprint. Effect - Makes you more dependent on water forcing players to go into towns more often to look for water. Also makes it more difficult to just sprint across the map to get somewhere, again making the map seem larger. New Symptom - Allergies Cause - Being in the woods runs the risk of getting allergies. Don’t make the sickness severe but rather blur the screen slightly, dull the colors or reduce the range of you can see. This would make it more challenging for snipers. After all how many people don’t have summer allergies minor or severe Effect - Every minute you’re in the woods you have a 5% chance of catching this symptom. Remedy - Epipen can cure this instantly or spending a period of time out of the woods will rid this. Change - Morphine Will only let you run around on a broken limb for a set period of time before it wears off and your forced back onto the ground. New Item - Splint Use - Will let you stand up on broken limbs and walk but will prevent you from sprinting. New Item - Cast Use - The only way to truly rid a player of a broken limb. Cannot cast yourself takes another player to apply a cast increasing dependency on other players. New Symptom - Addiction Cause - Taking too much morphine, painkillers or epipens. Effect - Shaking of player causing making reticules sway more. Randomly pass out and Increase dehydration rate by 20%. If you’re under the effects of exposure then you pass out at an increased rate. Remedy - Will go away after a period of time, if you’re within a certain distance of another player it goes away 50% faster. Potentially increases dependency on other players. New Symptom - Crazy Don’t punish or deter people for killing others to get gear to survive. You would do anything to Survive. Cause - If a player kills other players and doesn’t loot their body (senseless murder). When it reaches a certain point a cynical laugh can be heard when near that player. Another player then would be inclined to shoot this person on sight. This could potentially reduce the amount of players spawn killing. Remedy - Very long time without committing senseless murder. New Symptom - Loneliness Cause - Very long time away from other players. Effect - Nothing that would deter solo play or punish solo play but rather a sound of sobbing can be heard when near this player. Remedy - Be within certain distance of another player for a period of time. New Camping Item - Purification Tablets Use - When filling up a canteen in a lake / spigot you must first purify the water before you can drink it or risk getting sick. Make it like a 25% or 50% chance at getting sick from unpurified lake water. Make the sickness have the same effect as a cold and cure it with antibiotics. After all the world is overrun by zombies and death is everywhere some of that more than likely will contaminate the water supply. Increase zombie aggro range with gun shots. Gun shots are very loud so they should be heard from a very long distance. If a player shoots a gun in town make all the zombies within 250 meters start running to that location. Don’t make them automatically aggo the person that shot but rather just aggro the point where the shot came from, if they see the player then aggro them. This would bring a whole new strategy to raiding towns and would make sniping from one spot for days on end more difficult. New Item - Battery Flashlights, Night Vision Goggles, Rangefinder and the GPS can’t run indefinitely in real life so why should they in game. Make batteries a consumable item one use can recharge an item for a few hours or days. This would make snipers at night have to abandon their post every now and then to find batteries to recharge their NVG. Use - Recharges the above listed items.
