Short/long term solution for banditry/bandit skin system
grayclay replied to The OCD's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I like the idea, its novel and its a clear visual cue as to a players actions that you can glean without resorting to communication of violence. Of course, if some guy is running across a field, I probably won't look down the scope to check his boots first. It could correlate with your humanity level, so the "washing of clothes" would occur as your humanity slowly inches back to positive. -
DO NOT GO TO AIRFEILD UNPREPARED!

Lets see. First time I went, server hopped the shit out of it before I knew about spawn in loot spawn distances. Got me some cool stuff, never saw anyone. Left it for awhile. First time coming back was after camping the Ural spawn with a friend. After getting sniped then my friend counter sniping, I ran back (long run), and got all my shit back. During this we saw a blue sedan driving around; a server reset later we found same sedan at the NWAF. Ran to it, stole it, went back, found the guy dead in the ATC. Third time was regearing recently. Ran around it on a low pop, almost killed myself, after getting a buddy to refuel my blood we went to the barracks, saw a heli crash on the runway, ran into the trees only to turn around as a guy sprints behind the barracks, 10 feet away, alt f4's to lose zombie aggro, and dies to a my friends headshot the second he's back in. So far have not died nor been shot at yet. Only places I've been sniped are Elektro. Northern fire station and death hill above it. -

Better PC gets worse performance. (FPS)

I'm having very similiar problems to you, and the generic response seems to be its a computer issue. http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/43674-on-again-off-again-fps-lag-cant-figure-out-why/ I have a hard time believing my computer, which can run triple A games, including Arma 2 and CO, at all max graphics with 60+ fps, is chugging along too hard for DayZ. The only times I've noticed any increase in framerate, outside of the standard 5 I'm getting, has been: -Brand new server session on a freshly restarted server -First 5 minutes of a sparse few rounds -Pure night time server In these I was getting massively improved FPS. I have updated video card drivers, updated clients, done all the cfg tweaks, nothing helps, not even when I'm playing the game on the lowest settings available. I'm thinking there is either a memory leak or some sort of hard drive use overload. -
Arma 2, CO, and DayZ all have super lag. Why is this?
grayclay replied to Nicoly's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Been lagging nonstop with better specs on all ends, can't even play the game right now, nobody seems to have any solid way to fix it outside of "get a new computer". -
1.62 Massive HDD stutter? [FIXED]

Could be a memory leak? -
On again, off again FPS lag, can't figure out why.

Insofar what has worked best is relogging into a fresh server with low ping, ran perfectly at first, slowly degraded over 15 minutes until it was crap. Makes sense, but it shouldn't have inasmuch an affect on my gameplay, this rig can run just about all games out right now at max. Unless, that is, DayZ is doing something special with its processing pathways or... whatever. I would think this has to do with the object cleanup issues they've been having today. -

Hey all, I just started playing today, love the game so far. The main issue I'm having, beside the learning curve, is massive fps lag. It happens more heavily in cities, but is pretty much always affecting me in some capacity. I'm running: 6 core 3.6ghz AMD processor Geforce GTX 460 1gb GDDR5 card 8gb of ram 500gb 7200rpm HD Windows 7 64 bit. I can run Arma 2 and OA at full everything completely smoothly, and yet Day Z lags like no other, almost to an unplayable degree. I've searched high and low, changed my nvidia settings, started running dayz off a virtual HD on my ram, and messed with each and every setting. Nothing helps. Has anybody found a way to fix this, or is it simply a by-product of the stage of development the game is in? Thanks guys, -Grayclay
