Why is this thread still a thing, computers overheat - especially laptops. When you don't know what you are talking about please go sit in the corner and remain quiet. Though I may not agree with Neo's statement of Valhalla being a "bunch of butt-hurt pussies" I cannot be a judge of their character other then what I've learned on this thread (since I've never played on their servers). Neo is correct in saying that people cannot be banned for disrespecting a clan and them being angry about it - it's against DayZMod Policy. Absolutely no evidence has been provided by Valhalla in the couple of days that this thread has been up - that tells me they don't have any evidence it was them period. They were banned because someone put markers on the map and mentioned the names of one of their members, any player on the server could have done it but they immediately banned this group of people without any forethought. My opinion of Valhalla has been set on a group of servers I will never play on because they do not know how to run a community in this game, do not know how to abide by the rules of the game (or are just ignorant to them) and do not know how to run a community period since they ban people on heresay.

Speaking as someone who does photography and film making as a living - Fraps files are so large because they are -so- high quality and because they are raw. Adobe Premier CS4 is what I use for the majority of my editing as well as some AfterEffects. Play with the settings when you are exporting, make sure everything is configured. If you want a higher quality with less compression ".mov" is a good format if you don't mind a little bit of quality loss but still remaining very credible then ".wmv" is also a very good format. Remember when you export video, it compresses it and formats the video to your desired format. If I were to take a Fraps recording and rendered it out once it would look "normal" if I rendered the footage that was already rendered, it would look worse. The more processing that footage has to go through makes it look progressively worse. Furthermore, if you cannot handle the size of Fraps and you want to be able to make the best videos then you are sadly SOL (Shit outta luck). Fraps is by far the leader in recording quality for games and the large file size is something you'll have to deal with. -
You are a fool. They -were- banned as the statements of the server owner state. You need to pay attention.

Sounds to me like a case of the admins were mad, had absolutely no evidence of hacking and just banned them all for hacking. I'd say make the admins provide the evidence of hacking as I'm 100% sure that banning without evidence is not permitted and could result in the bans being reversed or worse - the server possibly being shut down.

I just REALLY want to clarify something on this thread. When a hacked weapon is picked up and the player holding it logs out it corrupts your player file and you cannot rejoin -any- DayZ Server. This is on the DayZ Hive not Battle Eye. Are we even 100% sure that the Scar was not added to the game? -
So after spending a lot of time on this forum I have to ask the question - what gives. Why is such a rudimentary bulletin board system being used by a mod that is so popular. Wouldn't it be easier to use Invision Powerboards, vBulletin or even Simple Machine Forums would be -extremely- more reliable and secure the phpBB. Kind of curious why an upgrade has not been put in place? I haven't used phpBB in literally seven years.

With the new Beta Patch servers must opt-in to the global and side channels - the catch 22 of this is that in order to enable these channels the server owner must edit the ".pbo" but to do so they either need a developer to do it or the developers permission which is not easy to come by as they are typically busy. I hope they can get someone on that to just go through and enable the two channels by default and then adjust anyone's server who do not want Side Channel or Global Channel enabled. Will post again when I have some more information. Summary - there is nothing you can do as a client to enable side-channel aside from downgrading to a previous version of the beta patch. I know for fact that 93160 has side channel enabled by default but I am not sure if there are any newer version of the beta-patch that enable it by default. -
I really do like this idea and I know for fact that it can be accomplished by incorporating the group system. Even a very rudimentary system exists in ARMA II already in which you can create a group through the UI, lock the group and unlock the group for your friends to join so you can talk to them as well as type with them. Get er done?

On the Contrary Kirk, when they are on side channel insulting the server and the server owner falsely stating that the owner of the server had turned off the hive connection so he wouldn't lose his gear is a very good reason to ban someone. The DayZ Development team can confirm that the Hive was not turned off at the time of the incident from 17:00 to 18:30 Eastern Standard Time with the exception being when the server was restarted and players were alerted at 30 minutes, 20 minutes and 5 minutes before the server restart. He's sitting there insulting the community, the integrity of it's members and owner as well as being disrespectful to the other players of the server. Neither of them were banned from the hive and I've also e-mailed my statement to the DayZ Development team. The accused in this situation sat in the TeamSpeak channel we were in with their microphones muted - no one knew they were in the channel, they never addressed themselves and before the incident happened they were confronted and the blatantly lied to the server owner when asked who they were. They claimed they were playing Eve Online and had seen the TeamSpeak information on DayZ while they were in actuality on another TeamSpeak server - listening to what we were saying while carrying on their own conversation. So lets see, valid reasons for them being banned: - Insulting the community to which they were guests of - Insulting the owner of the server to which they were guests of - Lying to the sever owner to which they were guests of - Suspicion of Ghosting as well as abusing TeamSpeak to gain an unfair advantage over other players on the server. -

So I was thinking I would suggest this and see what the rest of the people think about it. My honest opinion of the DayZ mod is that it has a lot of potential but they are doing it wrong. I feel that the Zombies should be more unintelligent, slow and cumbersome with more zombies. A prime example of this if you have seen the series is The Walking Dead - the zombies are not overpowered but there are enough zombies to cause issues for the survivors. My suggestion is this, make the zombies more like the zombies The Walking Dead and less like the ones in Left 4 Dead. I still enjoy a challenge but the way the zombies currently are is ridiculously over powered. This is a Zombie RPG in which I LOVE the concept and I can see myself spending HOURS each day playing but at the same time if I wanted to play Left 4 Dead with zombies that are fast, swarm you and are hard to kill I would be playing Left 4 Dead not DayZ. In addition to the current zombies being overpowered there are bandits everywhere, that is a problem all in itself that I see nothing wrong with. But bandits in combination of hordes of fast and overpowered zombies is making it kind of not fun for people who play by themselves. So in summary I would personally like the following changes: - Keep the number of zombies that are currently present the way they are (if not - add more) - Reduce the speed of the average zombie to a walk or a jog when they are aggravated. (keep maybe 1 - 3 sprinters in a cluster but the most should be slow and cumbersome) Reasons behind the changes: - Less of a need for bandits (though there still will be plenty - but they will feel slightly less required to kill people) - Slightly easier to get equipment if you sneak into a location and sneak out. - Makes the game easier for individuals and new players to play. - More fun...

My personal opinion there are simply way too many zombies and the zombies are way to overpowered. This is my honest opinion and the opinion of many. I would honestly like to see the zombies be more like zombies in The Walking Dead Series. Not that intelligent, slow and cumbersome but with lots of numbers. So when you fire one shot in a town you attract the attention of the hordes but you are able to escape if you leave the town quickly enough. The way they are now they are hard to shoot when they are running at you and too much like the zombies in 28 Days Later. You randomly pull one, it lunges at you and then hordes and hordes come. It's comparable to Left 4 Dead and to be honest if I wanted Left 4 Dead I would go and play Left 4 Dead. This is a Zombie RPG that I personally would love to see developed properly.
