You gotta be very lucky to find a working vehicle, normally you will need fueltank parts, wheels, scrap metal and other stuff. I normally see a UAZ by Stary Sobor but that's a high risk area. Best vehicle to find in my opinion is a bus because they are normally fully repaired.

If you don't know if you click on the Alice Pack in your inventory and click "Open Bag" you can store stuff in there by dropping it in the bag, you might know this. Also from personal experience getting a server to store stuff in would be a waste of money, and finding a server and putting stuff in a tent can be extremely glitchy.
