  1. ***This big wall of text is going to be edited until it looks fine and doesn't scare people from reading*** ~~~ Introduction ~~~ After getting to the "End game gear" I began to think about how to make the game interesting/fun and not a simple deathmatch. Since there's already groups for medic assistance, transport and arms dealer I though that maybe a group of mercenaries could work too. Some friends and myself will be offering "military" help of almost any type to players as a method of giving some goals to the game. For now we are offering help on repairing vehicles (finding parts), escort/body guard and assassination - see description in "Tasks". This is made to give some goals to the actual "end game" and avoid unnecesary killing. We don't want this to be an excuse for being a bandit, so we offer "peacefull" missions too.   5. I'd like to see damage increase for other snipers, like from 8000 to 10000 and make AS50/m107 carryable only on backpack slot.
  6. I'm not even sure if coast spawn is an anti server hop feature or just some bug from 1.7.2.5 :l If it's a feature, NO, don't remove it.
  7. I absolutly agree that they HAVE to keep the forums updated about what they are doing (or at least Rocket does) because right now I've no idea if there's any progress at all or not. About people leaving I still think that they won't associate a MOD with a Standalone release. Many people may quit the game, but some people probably never even heard of DayZ as a mod and will learn about it when it is released / goes beta (on the new engine, standalone). Also, if the dev team does things in a good way, a good portion of people who left by now will return as the game would've changed and be better than it is now. They REALLY have to screw things up to lose people AND not get new players. I think in 2-3 weeks the amount of total players went 150-200k up (from about ~900k to 1.1M), I've no idea about "active" players, but I'd expect them to go down since summer is coming to an end and school is starting. PS: I'm studying business too and I'm aware that the vast majority of players don't even visit the forums.
  8. Yes, a lot of games are released unfinished because of the pressure from the publishers. Rocket's already working for BIS and probably won't have too much pressure for a release, also being able to make his own game is his dream (that's what I understood from some interviews) I've some faith on Rocket, unless he wants to screw up his own dream and release a bad, unfinished game.
  9. The guys who don't visit forums may see the standalone game as another game and don't give a F* about the mod we have right now. Maybe they aren't even aware that there will be a DayZ game. Rocket should not be worried because people is leaving the alpha. He knows that there are bugs that can make you quit the mod and the problem with hackers/cheaters. But he also knows, better than any of us, how this mod will develop in future.
  10. Personally I'd do it for free since there's no other "help request" I accepted you on steam, not sure if we'll need any guns since noone wants our service :(

    No, there's no bullet penetration on bodies in this game.

    They definetly have to reset the database after fixing duping glitch. Cleaning up before that is kinda pointless.

    Bandit towell head is way better than the back full skin. Now it's not as easy to spot a bandit as if he had full skin but still you can tell the difference between bandit/survivor/HERO

    POLL: Graphic Glitches & 1.7.2.5

    Almost all artifacts fixed for me, I only had them once in balota and flushing worked on 1st try.
  15. No, Six Launcher/Updater is still on .2.4 If you want to try the .2.5 you have to do it manually using torrent files from the 1st post of this thread or using DayZ Commander (search google)
  16. -The backpack glitch after using clothing has been there before .2.5 You have to drop it or relog before using the clothes. -I have way less graphical glithces in .2.5 and I can flush them, in .2.4 I had more artifacts and not all of them could've been flushed. -Tents/Vehicles saves maybe server-side problem, new tents placed after .2.5 work fine. Personally I like .2.5 more than .2.4

  18. The server I usually play on updated to .2.5 so I diceded to give a try. After installing everything manually from the torrent file and logging into the server I have no more artifacts. Didn't experience the random skin switch either - started at -1humanity survivor skin and now I'm at ~1200humanity survivor skin (about to change for ghillie) I went from Green Mountain to Stary Sobor and then to NWAF, no artifacts. I used to have probelms with artifacts at same locations, same server and same settings on 1.7.2.4 # Arma 2 beta 95883 # DayZ v1.7.2.5 # Video memory - default # AA - Normal # VSync - Disabled v No more artifacts... for now.

    I'm looking for a group

    Hey, our group is mainly from Europe and we usually play everyday. Trying to be friendly, but it's hard when everyone shoots you for no reason :c PM if you interested in playing together.
  20. Its been said before that G36C is not legit in DayZ as there's no spawn point for it aka the only method of getting it is by hacking. Devs also said that people won't get banned for using hacked items as long as they didn't hack it in, but you can always get banned by an admin from this specific server.

    Hatchet's being weird

    I had a glitch with a crowbar that didn't allow me to drop it. So I had to use the crowbar until I died... Never pick up crowbars Q_Q
  22. I don't know if this has been said before but BattleEye scans your system for suspicious files/programs. You may have something like CheatEngine that you use to screw around in a single player game or somethig and you'll get banned from BattleEye even if you didn't use it on Arma2 ever. I guess the "innocent" player who have been banned had some kind of program that BattleEye detects as dangerous and throws the ban Hammer. More info about how BE works on its web: http://www.battleye.com/info.html EDIT: IP ban is probably useless. A lot of people have dynamic IP, all they have to do is restart router to get new IP. Even if you have static IP you can use VPN to get new one.

    Fair or just wrong

    Personally I don't think I will give a blood transfusion to a complete stranger anymore. I'd probably break his legs and leave a morphine nearby so I have time to go away while he's crawling.
  24. One "easy" fix to tent duping is to make tents auto save whenever you place/retrieve an item or autosave every X minutes. I hate duping, no matter what kind of gear you have it has no value since you can have it again if you die. This leads into deathmatch gameplay most people hate. If you see a tent and it has a good amount of weapons, take everything (take it to yourself or drop it on the ground) and save the empty tent.
