    Survivor Base (In Development)

    Age - 21 How long have you been playing? - 105 hours ~ 15-20 days What is your reaction when you see other survivors, not knowing if they are friendly or bandits? - Hide and observe. See what kind of weapons they have and where they are going. What is your first instinct when you see another survivor? (This is pretty much the same as the question above btw) Safety first - I need to know if they are a danger to me, so I observe their movements and the direction he is going. If he's going in other direction than mine, I'll leave him and go my way, if he's going in my direction I'll follow him from a distance. Situation 1: You and a fellow survivor you have just met are searching a barn, you find the only can of food in the building and your fellow survivor is down the red on on his meter. You are at orange and the next local town is a few km's away. What do you do? - I'll give him food. I can stay on orange for some time. If we have all hunting tools it is even easier. Situation 2: You are down to two clips of your 1911, your fellow survivor has a revolver and is currently out of ammo. Knowing you can convert the ammo of your 1911 to a revolver .45 clip, do you give that survivor your last mag or do you keep it for yourself? I'd like to keep both mags for myself. I know my skills when I have to kill zombies without wasting ammo (125/126 headshots right now, and the one I missed was when I used a hatchet :P). But if I know that the other survivor knows how to shoot, I'll give him a mag for sure. Oh, another reason to keep both mags to myself is because we'll get an extra bullet for 1911 (revolver mag size is 6, m1911 is 7) and given the fact that it's our only ammo, every bullet counts. Anyway, I'm doing this so I can help setting the camp, I have all gear I need but no goal to keep playing :( Also I'd like to know if the server for the camp is gonna be on EU or US. Since I'm from EU my ping in US servers can go a little crazy sometimes.

    Free Items :D

    I actually can understand if he wants to die and be able to start from scratch to play with some friends. If someone want anything I'd sugest saving their current gear in a tent and going almost naked to the trade point OR ask for a bodyguard for safer trading :P

    Fort Friendly 2.0 - Social Experiment

    You should be able to get building supplies with the help of the community. I don't think people need fencing/sandbags/tank traps so they can donate it to you, specially the ones that are most interested in the Fort Friendly.
  4. We'll give it back. BUT in first place: we are not asking for guns. Our payment is ammo, guns are considered donations, like if you have a spare AK or something we can store it and use for new recruits.

  6. Is there any way I can hop into vent with you? I always wanted to see/hear how organized group can play in dayz (and other games), but never could find one. I'm 21 yo and I consider myself mature, but as I said all I want to do is see how you manage "difficult" situations. Another "no-no" to play with you is the fact that I'm from Europe and US servers have around ~150ping at best for me. Hopefully I can meet you in vent and learn how to play as a group and apply it myself later ^^

    Fort Friendly 2.0 - Social Experiment

    I think it was obvious that defending a safe area is way harder than assaulting it. The main reason is that you can attack a camp site pretty much alone even if it's guarded by 3-5 players. As attacker you'r pretty much guaranteed to kill your first target since they won't know that they'r being attacked and the direction of attack until the first shots (unless the defendors are constantly scanning the area with L85). If you want a safe zone, it has to be a building with few entrances and good view of the outside and I'm not sure that there's something like that in DayZ at the moment. Anyway, I don't know what happened exactly, but you should not give up after a single incident. Find another place (doing it in a major city was a bad idea from the begining if you ask me...) and be more carefull with who you accept there, because as shown not all players can be trusted.

    Crafting

    The best crafting idea I had so far is camo for parked vehicles. Something like 4 ghillie suits for a single camo for bike/moto/quad, then you can craft 2 smaller vehicle camo for 1 mid camo for cars/pickups and then 2 mid camos for a big one for trucks/bus. Should be able to use it on parked vehicles and must been removed before using the vehicle again. This way people could have ""easier"" (a LOT of ghillies needed) way of hiding their vehicles in woods.

    Arma 2 Trade-In

    Pretty much everyone who's playing the Alpha right now is supporting the development of DayZ. I see no reason why not to give them (us) a discount for the standalone purchase. The way Minecraft done this is quite good, the price was rising until the game was released, this made people buy alpha/beta client and therefore help tracking bugs and posting potential game features.
  10. You shouldn't compare DayZ to real MMORPG giants like WoW. World of Warcraft is the most played MMO because when it came out there was no more than 1 or 2 other "good" MMOs. Since it became popular people kept playing it and paying monthly fees. Things have changed from release of WoW to today. People doesn't want to pay monthly fees because there are other free games, maybe not as good, but free. Just look at latest MMOs that came out: Aion went f2p, SWTOR is going f2p, Tera may go f2p from what I heard, Guild Wars 2 is coming out in 3 weeks and won't have monthly fees either. If you translate this to DayZ it happens to be a survival zombie ""MMO"" FPS and probably its competitor is War Z (I've no idea about war Z at all, but I heard it's very similar...). Even tho DayZ it's original and kinda unique it's still a FPS, in a FPS generation and I don't think it's unique enough to charge monthly for it. PS: Yes, I know it's still an Alpha and a lot of things can change until release, but I don't think that going for monthly fees is a good decision, for any game today. We, as gamers, are abused enough with the f*ck ton of DLCs that should've came out with the original, 60$/€, game. I'm not willing to pay monthly fees and you shouldn't either. There are other ways for making money of this game outside monthly payments or abusive release price.
  11. Monthly fees? No thanks. Go for 15-25$ price and microtransaction for cosmetic items (i'm sure devs can create cool skins for clothing or weapons) Also I think people really underestimate the amount of people who will buy the game for 15-25$ but won't for 50+$ and more people equals more possible future sales (if the tell their friends or post review/opinions in forums). If you add microtransactions to this, it's even better to have more people rather than higher price. For instance, the new Counter Strike is coming this month and it will be only 15$ I don't think so. Monthly payment will "scare" people away, resulting in less sales overall and probably less income.

    Traders and Traitors

    Something that may be possible is to make a button "Propose trade" or just "Trade". When someone wants to trade, he just need to click that button and an automatic message will be sent to the other player in forum. Then he may accept/deny trade petition and comment/rate the trade when both players click "Trade done" after the ingame trade. I've no idea how hard it is to code this into the forums, but may work.
  13. I had same doubt and I'm sure we'll have to pay again for it. I'm sure it will be worth it tho, unless it's another 60€ game (retarded price for a game if you ask me), in which case I'll consider waiting for a sale or something.
  14. ^This Every arma2 client has an ingame ID attached to the CD-Key. Whenever someone's is banned by BattleEye he's banned by the ID, not the ingame user name. That's what's you'r asking for, a permanent "name" for easier bans. Pretty sure server admins can know the ID of players too.
  15. I found a truck with some Soldier Clothing in it. Don't know if it was hacked or military trucks can spawn with soldier camo. The truck had other items in it, some weapons, mags, vehicle parts and food.

    Trading AS50 against a UAZ

    In my opinion UAZ is worth a lot more than AS50 + some mags. It's pretty much the best vehicle in the game (small, good speed off road, has 7 seats and it's green aka easier to hide). Maybe you can ask for a pickup/atv...
  18. We found the V3S Civilian (Green Truck) full of goodies and another vehicle. Driving to our base we found a chopper that was taking off. We tried to shoot the pilot but instead we got backstabbed by 2 other players. Spawned 50-100m away from the truck, got in and almost rolled over one of the guys... almost. Got another spawn near the same area, tried to find/follow the truck, didn't manage to do that. I'm still considering if it was worth stopping for chopper kill while we had 2 cars with a lot, A LOT, of gear in them :(

    Didn't think I'd be posting here, but I need morphine. I'm in best spot ever: NW Airfield "radio" tower (or whatever it's called). Hopefully we can get into low pop server or something :c Not that I've great gear or something, it just was a long journey (and want to try out the medic "system" :D) Gonna be online for ~30 more min today and tomorrow, I'm from EU btw.
  22. Personally I don't hate bandits, but I do hate "survivors" who kill you without asking if you'r friendly (does that make them bandits?) I haven't played back when Bandits had their own skins, but I think that if people could know if someone's a bandit just by looking at them would make the game "better". And I'm not talking about full skin, maybe a little change to the current survivor skin like a scarf, mask or shirt with blood on it. Then you'd have to analyze others before shooting. Also make the normal survivor skin an item so bandits can use it as a 1time use camuflage (would dissapear after killing someone).
  23. The m1911 is glitched/nerfed since the last Arma2 update. No it takes 3-4 body shots to kill a zombie. Anyway, how did you manage to break bones in forest if there's no zombies and usually no big falls either. If you'r really bothered with the bones breaking too easy, get 3+ morphines each on hospitals and go to major towns sometimes for new medical supplies.
