I can see where he is coming from, being able to basically carve your underground fortress would be amazing, but a huge strain on the developers to make it happen, Red Faction was awesome but the whole blowing everything up was it's only selling point to me, if anything i think Rocket will put this down as a side "investment". Get the game out with say a basic idea on his underground world and if it works who knows what he will put in the final build for the standalone

aye and no, from experience running a server myself i found the amount of Script Kiddies fell dramatically when running a private server as Admins have more control over them, it does send a message of fear out in a way, trust me the chances of bumping into a script kiddie on a public server is like 10x more likely than on a private hive

its just a minor set back, but i can't see it causing too many problems, i run all my music from an External Drive when im mixing a set up!

Technically there should be no problem at all, just rarely i think its the amount of Data going through USB that causes some errors.. but it is an option that would work

Just watch when you do something like this, i seem to have problems of the HDD shutting down or freezing under constant strain, i dunno wether its my HDD (Western Digital 250GB 3 months old) or just the fact im trying to play a game and a mod off an external drive.

The annoying thing is no matter how dark it is in real life you always adjust to the low light and can navigate without a worry. Very rarely do i have to use my red light at night.

Im going to change your tag to this!! it's like your catchphrase! OP seems you have somehow out done the server to come back where you died with all your stuff, only ever done it once myself, bloody good luck i must admit, Just Don't get used to it.... it is a super rare glitch!

yup, you are being caught off guard and *booom* Brain all over your nice new shoes.... Only advice i can offer is move faster in amongst cover and only stop when it is completely safe to do so...

Check here for Private Hives http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/forum/64-private-hive-discussion/ Private Hives have a lesser amount of Script Kiddies on them, some of the best admined ones are in that thread. Hopefully most of the problems will be sorted come the Stand Alone but as it stands using the ARMA engine it is almost impossible to clean up the Script Kiddies completely....
