Derpy_Hooves (DayZ)

Well again i feel like a saint, was just wandering about Solinichy this time after some engine parts after finding nothing at the factory when i see a newish player running up the coast (Enfield and starter pack) when shots ring out from the South West of me, i see the poor guy duck for cover... yet another sniper looking for easy prey so i scan the hillside with my LA85 and see a Ghillie suit laying on the hill over looking the town, i look back to the player and see he is bleeding and the zombies were closing in so without hesitation i turned back to the sniper and dropped him with the AS50... i cautiously approach the player through the village, hailing him on direct coms that i had just seen what had happened and if he wanted me to help ie with blood bag and some supplies to come meet me in the open field with his weapon lowered. "But im about to be mauled" he replies... "Don't worry ill deal with that, just come to the edge of the woodland" i replied... "But how can i trust you??" fair enough question in my opinion so i said "I just took care of that sniper... you're not a match and i want to help", reluctantly it would seem he began running towards my position and i dropped the zombies around him.. as soon as that was done i told him to stop.. "Keep your weapon lowered and turn away from me" (probably not the best thing i could have said but hey my adrenaline was pumping). "Oh i knew it you're gonna kill me"... "No" i replied, "this is for my own safety, you just have to trust me" Sure enough he did as i said so i cautiously approached while 2 clan mates watched over... "im gonna give you a blood transfusion, how are you for food and drinks?" i asked. "Not good, i have a can of coke and thats it" I gave him the transfusion and said "im putting 2 cans of pasta and a water bottle in your bag, stay looking away till i say otherwise" he agreed... just as i hit the woodline he asked "Who are you?", "Derpy Hooves" i replied. "Thank you Derpy, you saved my ass". with a slight grin on my face i said "no worries bud, happy hunting" and ran up into the wilderness.. I am starting to feel good about this guys, though i know others wont be so co-operative and try steal my stuff but i don't mind... if i can help i will :)

It has taken us well over a week to get all this stuff!! who says patience never pays off!

Yeah sure, well we are just setting up the server now, so hopefully we will have some goodies stashed safe for the meet...

Well just a little tale i thought i would share with you guys i found kinda amusing... So me and a few buddies had a GAZ and were on a hunt for medical stuff nr Berezhino when we go through Black Lake and find a Pick-Up!! instantly im running for it... i just love them!! Down side is both vehicles now have Red engines so we go along the north looking for spares... We end up at the NW airfield and after a good search we find nothing, nothing in Vybor or down the west coast so we think bugger it, server is quiet, lets head to Cherno/Elektro...... So we power down the west coast to Kamenka, GAZ with 4 guys ahead and men a buddy in the Pick-Up just behind. Then the twisty section arrives just North of Kamenka and all i wanna do is power slide.. it's why i love the pick-up so much, so the first couple of corners go well, getting the tail right out.. then disaster, The GAZ runs wide and slows at the next tight left hander about 15ft ahead of me, im already into the slide in 1st person not realising what was about to happen... As i exit the corner (still sideways) i hear a mighty thump from the right rear side of the truck... The GAZ hadn't got back on the road to gain distance on us, i had swiped them clean off the road... next my teamspeak lights up with cries of "WTF!!!" and "DERPY!! what have you done?" so i look back to see a burning wreckage and one man pulling another away from the blaze, seems i had shunted them clean into a woodland.. in my defence they should have driven better and stayed on the road. We lost quite a few weapons in the car and some lovely things for our camp, and i learned a valuable lesson! When power sliding in a convoy make sure you are in the lead vehicle and that the other drivers are capable of staying on the road. safe to say the pick-up took no damage and we found engine parts in Cherno..... Shame really that 4 guys are now walking :) ^^ me and the pick-up before the events!

it's always Derpies fault!! even RD blamed Derpy... nevermind i survived haha!

Well i will support the Bronies needing to get gear... they shall have my AS50 and LA85 as cover, plus any medical and food ill happily donate :) I should have my server set up tomorrow, if so i can allow a meet up there... we shall be safe with my clan overwatching the meet!

i wouldn't, just because they will be exposed to zombies.... if you don't trust em stay away from them.

Its people like your mate that cause the agro.... unarmed survivors should be left alone.. as soon as they are armed though thats when the shoot to kill policy kicks in, the amount of unarmed guys i've seen that i could have blown clean in half but never is unreal, but i prefer the challenge of someone being able to fire back. I suppose the military tought me alot, but again this is only a video game and card Alpha doesn't always apply

He was unarmed and asked for help.... therefore i did, i dont mind getting people off the beach, makes the game more fun later when they are more equipped.. Not normal im in Cherno or Elektro but i was after vehicle spawns, just luck of the draw he walked into me!

All depends on the situations.. last night it was a genuinely a guy in need of help. plus i always have my squad for backup so im in safe hands... just thought i would turn the tides and help the noobs out :)

I do try, think i scared him a bit to start with though when i fired the LA85 at the zombies behind him...but yeah if i can i will help!!

KILLING SPREE!!!

Going to be nothing worse than getitng along with your little 4 legged companion... growing attached to them as you hunt out loot and other players, then BAM!! Fido is wiped out by a sniper.... i can just see the tears streaming now lol

Well it would depend, if i had spare ammo, was bored i would take pops at people for fun... and then not risk everything i had by looting while some OTHER sniper/bandit was watching over you're fallen corpse, Banditry as everyone mentions is a style of play, either counter them or roll with them... either way you will have to improve!

When you die, you die... get over it and start again... but yeah when you have high tier weapons, a few vehicles then there really aint much else to do apart from hunt and set ambushes.. keeps things exciting and no 2 firefights are ever the same :)

Dogs? ie pet dogs or Zombie dogs, either or they are gonna be a true pain in the ass!

ill sell mine if anyone is after it.... ill happily take an LA85 anyday, not keen on snipers....

Q. any chance of more working vehicles, for such a large area transport is awfully scarce!
