Well what we tend to do is have the players report in with visual evidence of the combat logging. If they post up a FRAPS video then boom jobs easy, But when looking through the logs it's pretty hard to get it right, really you need both sides of the party being honest and that's not going to happen. So best we can do is look at the logout location, the logout time and what his character stats were at the time of DC. normally we warn players, 3 day ban for the second offence and if they are stupid enough to pull it off a 3rd time it's perma ban time! Combat loggers ruin the nature and experience of a firefight and it's an exploit witch in my books is as close to cheating you can get.

I have assumed that his delays in PM means i solved the issue, both patch and running through Steam options were both causing errors (plus installing DayZ helped!) I hope he enjoys his time on the game!

What was this solution to the original problem? I do hope it was a simple patch update you did being that would have been the problem, if however you have clicked a random link then you may have fallen victim to a Key Stealing scam and unfortunately there is nothing that can be done about that. You're best hope it to contact Battleye and explain you're situation as there is not one person on these forums that can help you with a Global Ban.

Yup sounds like major desync to me, any scripter would have turned on you and killed you as soon as you opened fire... or got you before you even knew they were about.

Nah, DayZ is basically ARMA with Zombies... anything like Rifles, Vehicles, Equipment can all be found in the Armory for you to test out.

Everything found in the Mod of use can be found in ARMA..... But as Legacy said you can customize your layout in your own Private server, just takes a little no how.

but you mention you only want to "test" these items out, hence the Armory... You don't need DayZ to "test" them.
