DayZ- Sitting Next To A Bandit

Hilarious. If you wanted to kill them you could've done it without any problem. And then they just shoot you in the face. Some people wow ... That "scout" must have lost his glasses somewhere on the way though, coming this near to his objective. And I guess killing him right away won't make his friends sitting at the forest edge angry eh? I hate the fact that a lot of people seem to think that killing is the only solution.

    Spawning Into Day Z

Yeah, I love the idea of spawning at the coast. I remember when I first started DayZ. The sea was THE landmark where I could orient myself. "Just follow the shore and you're bound to stumble upon a larger city / port". If I spawned in the countryside I'd be totally lost which would also be a bit unrealistic.
  3. Good post, thanks OP. In my opinion, what dayZ currently lacks, is some kind of "global quest". A quest where everybody can lend a helping hand, and a quest, that if completed, helps everyone survive longer. Currently you can repair helicopters, cars, boats etc. But for what reason? You're making a huge bandit magnet out of yourself and everyone you meet will shoot you, and you better shoot everyone you meet as well. The main problem with vehicles is that they are only for "egoistic" purposes (sure in the end everything is egoistic, but you know what I mean). There's no way you can help the people with vehicles. Once you got good enough weapons and vehicles, the game degenerates itself to: Shoot everybody on sight. I had an idea for a global quest that goes as follows: The power plant at elektro has severely been damaged due to no maintenance and bandits raiding the place, leaving all chernarus in the dark. It however can be repaired again. The items you need to repair it are scattered all across chernarus. Once half repaired, it will power the street lights of elektro, more advanced repairs will power cherno, then the surrounding villages until every village has electricity again. Electricity will drive zombies away from the city into the woods, making villages to safezones where people can meet and trade. Vehicles as helicopters would come in very handy as you could make stashes filled with repair and maintenance items throughout the land where the vehicles could pick them up and transport them to elektro. Bandits that live from the darkness, will try to prevent the whole process. They become organised bandits. The random shoot a guy on sight or steal that vehicle will occure less likely, as the guy in the vehicle might work for the greater good and in the end might help you. Why should you kill a guy that has a whole lof of repair items on him, they serve no purpose to you.

When do you decide Friendly or Bandit?

I haven't played for some weeks now bot wow, dayZ has gone down fast. From the respones in this thread it seems as if dayz degraded to easymode with one rule: Shoot everybody on sight. This hasn't always been this way and no, I won't and will never do that, no matter how many times you douches kill me :P
  5. lol, he complains about the way he was killed. Being killed WHILE loading certainly shouldn't be a part of the game.
  6. I'm in. Interesting mission, even if it fails. Kinda hardcore because you'll probably have to deal with the worst people there are in dayz but that gives me the chance to shoot some of those parasitic bandits. Heroes on a mission! ;-)

    "People Don't Want Day Z"

Who said that? The community? Another game designer? Friends of Rocket? It's definitely impressive for an alpha which is more of a concept test... Just look here, for ~7 days it was the second best seller on amazon: http://www.amazon.com/best-sellers-video-games/zgbs/videogames/ref=zg_bs_nav_0
  8. I guess that heavily depends on whether you are alone or not. Once I teamed up with a friend of mine and we made our way to Stary Sobor we encountered many other survivors. But because we were rather cautios, i.e. one of us always covering the other our encounters have been rather good-natured, Trading food for blood packs / matches etc. Or maybe we were just lucky :-P but as a general advice: get the funk off the coast as fast as you can, because either you'll get sniped by bandits or get killed by other survivors that just spawned and got NOTHING to lose.

So what happened to those Field hospitals?

Yeah sure, but once you leave the coast there is practically not one single hospital. Don't know whether you can actually find any blood bags inland, away from the coast.
