Mountain Dew ideas have been floating around the suggestions thread. You should read a little before posting. Why build a gun? There's so much to do on DayZ already, this isn't an answer to hackers, an answer to hackers would be to fix the hacker problem, not empower them with more weaponry.

That computer could run DayZ three times with no problems. :) I have the same CPU but the 6990, which is a little better than yours.

I'll confirm that Video Memory on Default uses more from your GPU thus increases performance, I run MSI afterburner and keep an eye on my GPU usage and FPS constantly in any game. I'm using an ATI 6990 4gb. So it's a huge difference to use default instead of Very high. I usually get 90-120fps. If I start lagging or server seems to be slowing down it goes down to 40-70. (Very rare). Thanks for info on Visibility I always have it on max, but whenever I do put it on max it does turn my quality preference to very high. Post process to always off. A lil confused by the GPU/CPU usage anything lower than HIGH will use my CPU? I'm confuzzled. As to what to do now. I'm using a 6990 with 4gb of ram with around 90-120 fps. But I also use an i7 2600k overclocked to 4.6ghz. So what should I be utilizing more of?

NL1337 Some very dodgy things happen in this server. Very dodgy. Example server restarted, on TS with 4 friends, I spawned in Novy Sobor... with half my body in a house. I was like dafuq? We get kicked a lot, well random people get kicked a lot. My ping is never above 35. More like mid 20s. Our vehicles dissapeared. So we put them in a completly northern random area, spawn back couple of hours later they are gone. Yes we saved them etc, we tried this a few times. Too many weird things happen on this server which I don't have time to get into. Basically decided will never play there again, last couple of days there was like a restart every two hours and there were weird things happening, things dissapearing from my backpack. I might switch from NL1337 Vet to Reg to see if they are both Day/Night, I ended up from NW airbase to Stary... It restarted this afternoon around 1pm GMT and it was morning server time, once the restart was done, it was 3 or 4am, and I only saw mainly HSO clan members left in the server.

I read that, I understand some of the things (perhaps even most) have been mentioned somewhere before, I have been lurking around the forums for a couple of weeks. I thought I would put in some of my suggestions into one place after a week of playing.

Alright been around the block a bit, survived, killed bandits. A few things irk me. 1. ALT F4, I have been lurking around the forums and understand this is being fixed, so I thank the Devs for working on this. 2. Server hopping say in Barracks to gear up. Something needs to be done about this. 3. Can my alice backpack have some sort of zip or lock on it? I don't want my "supposed team mate" stealing my CZ550 then refusing to give it back, what do I do kill my friend? I really don't want to when he's trolling. 4. Hunger/Thirst, why am I bleeding out and in need of food or drink after 1-2 hours game time? This isn't realistic, I sometimes in off season eat perhaps once a day. I'm fine with this. I do drink a lot of water, but I can go 8-12 hours without drinking anything fine. On the thirst hunger thing, how about a function where I sip or drink half of my drink, or eat half of my baked beans? We have painkillers etc, how about Vitamins? Why can't I drink from a pond? 5. Why on earth can't I punch? or kick? If I am totally unarmed, I should have the option punching or kicking a zombie/bandit. Kinda on the same subject, why no melee? Hunting knife for example, why can't I stab someone with this? 6. Why do I have a broken bone after falling 5 feet off a ladder? 7. Kevlar please? Or something to increase/blood health? How about a rest or sleep function to reduce blood, say I have 2900 blood, and a revolver, I keep fainting because I used my last painkillers, I'm crawling around and I fainted 3 times in 20 seconds. This is ridiculous, why won't drinks help increase a little health? How about a sleep rest function which increases 1-2k blood or so? 8. Surrender function? So bandits don't HAVE to kill me for my loot. If it means my life I'll let them have my backpack, and give them my weapons if it means not starting in cherno again. 9. I understand it's the zombie apocalypse, and the world has come to an end, but wouldn't some group form together and make some form of goverment or authority? How about some AI police type players, who kill bandits or patrol cherno/electro or some other strong hold and try to help survivors? 10. Bases, villages? Farming, ability to build gates a little village? With farming and so on. That's a few of my thoughts for now.

You need to try the barns and farms, they usually have Winchesters/Enfields/CZ550 snipers. Also you need to check out Balota Airstrip, the Military Tents/Deers Stands near Balota, the NW Airbase and the two barracks there. Good stuff happens there. :) Also the fire stations in Cherno and Elektro. We have found maybe 10 snipers this week, mostly CZ550s, one M14 AIM (I believe) Most of the rest is defending/killing bandits and stealing their stuff. Example walking in the tree lines north of Stary Sobor... Wait... zombies at the tents... How far away are we? 400 metres PEW PEW, SHOTS FIRED "AGHHH IM DOWN LEGS BROKEN" everyone prone, get eyes. AHA there are 2, flank, counter snipe close in KILL WAIT THERE WERE 3. We take losses, but we pick up our friends stuff, and get the hell out of there. :)

Well I started playing on Friday the 13th I believe, the first day was spent trying to find a couple of friends and dying over and over again. I did a lot of reading watched a lot of videos and since then I have a little squad. Sometimes it's me on my own until a friend gets online. Most of the time it's two of us getting owned by groups of bandits. I won't kill anyone unarmed, I won't kill someone with a secondary or melee weapon unless it's "Jason with the bloody axe". Me and a friend were in the control tower in Balota Air Strip waiting there for a friend to join us from Elektro, so while we are keeping an eye out on things making sure bandits don't come our way. I go down and see Jason with an axe, I was on TS with the friend, I said "Rice is that you with an Axe?" he started squemaing, no wait SHOOT HIM. I said no, Jason continued eerily looking at me, then he came at me with his axe. Funny thing is, I had an AKM and M1911. I was like dafuq? Funny thing he returns 10 mins later this time trying to get rice who had a M16. Well since then, I've been all over the place, spent a fair bit of time first 3-4 days in Cherno/Electro, recently we have been roaming about having BBQ's and going to the NW airbase, NE airbase, Stary Sobor. We are learning to survive against the bandit snipers, alt f4ers. I've seen 3 range finders, a few Coytoe backpacks, 1 Night vision goggle we took from a couple of snipers in Stary Sobor, and an AS50. We did lose them 2 hours later in the NE airstrip to 3 guys, who were surprisingly fast at getting back there after spawning so well equipped... I don't usually snipe, but I'm the scout sniper/counter sniper at the moment with a DMR, trying to learn the whole mil dot/zeroing thing. Well if anyone wants to join me in playing and my lil squad, (good things happen with us). We move around a lot, mostly north of the southern cities, berezino, stary, nw airbase etc, we might occasionally go down to meet our respawned buddies, if they had good stuff we protect it for them or pick it up. We don't REALLY share food or drink, but say someone had an extra primary weapon in the pack for the team (in our tents) which we do. Someone had 4 water bottles etc, we share. If someone is low on health we hunt boars and cows and make like 16 steaks and split them. Nothing formal just friendly fun. We are based in Europe, me and a couple of others in the UK, friends in Norway, Finland, France, Holland. So if you are european, have teamspeak wish to join us, send me a message. :) Usually we are in groups of 2-5, might be alone sometimes playing very safe, the biggest squad when everyone's on at the same time (weekends perhaps) we had a squad of 9. We have a couple of vehicles, hopefully well hidden... a few tents spread around. We learn quickly, and think about the game. Luckily we have a couple of players with over 200 hours on DayZ, I think i've clocked up at least 6 hours a day the last week, I think one day I was on 8 hours and went in to work with no sleep!
