i agree, weather in game at the moment leaves a lot to be desired and snow always adds to the atmosphere, not to mention we would FINALY have a decent reason to carry a heat pack

Looking for an organised team.

I'm not an expert and my navigation without a map is fairly poor, the only place i can frequently get to with no map is elecktro. i do know the ropes of the gameplay fairly well though. im on london time. i only really take what is either spare or nessisary for my survival and am happy to make inventory space for carrying other peoples supplies while working with them. I also have a mic, If you would like for me to join please add me on skype or steam. GexAlmighty is the name for both. -

I'm Gex and i'm 19, i dont really ever go by my irl name. Looking to join a group of atleast 3 (including myself) to play DayZ with because i am bored of playing alone. I would also like to play whilst in a skype call to make things smoother. if you have mics and use skype and are looking to find group members add me on skype or steam, which is GexAlmighty. I for one would love for the game to move over to a different engine, in fact Arma2 and DayZ probably run the worst engine for any FPS on the market at the moment imho. I think the source engine would suit this game to the core if i had the choice. but the cry engine is also fantastic. unfortunately Dayz being a mod means they would have to totally re make arma, OR re make DayZ as a standalone and this will probably never happen, despite my best wishes

I like this idea too but its unusable because it would make most peoples computors explode.

my only beef is that the bolts need to take up less space, these creators have a fetish for realism, so they were probably thinking that bolts can only be stored diagonally in your backpack or something which takes up lots of space. i know for a fact that you could just clump them all together and improvise ways to hold them, so at least make it so they can be grouped into sets of 4 - 6 arrows per slot

ghillie and camo suits affect zombies
GexAlmighty replied to crazyshadowdami's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
since the makers for DayZ have a fetish for over the top realism there is no reason for them to not include something that is clearly realistic. HOWEVER Snipers have it easy enough as it is, so a sniper in ghillie would be immortal if they were harder to spot by zombies as well. -
+1, simple suggestion and something i know i would get a little excited about finding as a drop and in no way overpowered.

5 minuits will cause problems for people who have just started, i like the concept though, and considering how long you have to sit there and camp, i think that 15 minuits in the same woods area should cause zombies to spawn around your location, or if you are camping on top of a building zombies should spawn on lower levels and make their way up to you. this is very unlikely to happen though since its very clear in this game that the Zed spawn mechanics are absolute crap at the moment, but perhaps further along develpment this is a great idea to keep the zombie survival aspect while not taking away peoples beloved sniper riffles (so no 12 year olds have to cry on this forum about threads like this.) great and simple suggestion. +1

oh my god is everyone on this forum 12? the the amount of people that just say "this thread sucks" or "aww go cry" just because of the titles without thinking it through is doing my head in. this is a section that is designed around thinking about how the game play can be made more enjoyable, not to brag and / or cry about dying / killing. know the difference. Personally I'm all for this idea (i must be a hipster, not slagging off the owner of a thread in suggestions) because there is nothing more annoying than spending over an hour making your way from the coast to a major city where you can finally get some decent loot, successfully making your way through the zombies and beginning to equip yourself, start thinking "hm, maybe there are some players here i can form a group with to make the game more sociable and fun" and then getting snipped by some loner 4 miles away who will then go over to your body and since they are already much better equipped than you are, probably take a can of baked beans and waste the rest of your items that you worked hard for. obviously this still happens for normal pvp, but the snipers are impossible to deal with and cannot be avoided. as far as i am concerned, if players are going to be able to kill other players and take their loot after all their hard work in finding it, they should have to put some real working in to getting the kills, rather than having the kills fed to them through a scope.

It depends how the aggro of Zeds is affected by the flashlight, night time is absolutely no hastle to see in as long as you have a flash light active, but can zombies zero on to the source of the light or do they not notice where the light is coming from? i havent found a definative answer yet from experience but as far as i can tell they dont aggro just by seeing the flashlight, in which case there is no problem at all. In fact, thanks to the flashlight night time can be profitable, since if you come across a place that has recently dropped flares, meaning possible friendlies, you can blink your light on and off to announce your presence (hoping not to get shot by bandits of course.
