yeah thats a good point. this mod only works if you are allowed to leave the server and rejoin as a different player type. i for one wouldnt mind occasionaly playing as a bandit when i want to go solo and switching to friendly when i feel like group playing. -
Trading is already in the game, and can only be done by being in a group, which is how it should be. Not only that. but to make churches a safe area would be really destructive. i for one find a lot of my early decent loot at churches and if that isnt a case it is often a good place for decent PVP fire fights and fortification. i like the way churches are currently used and dont want to see them change. Rather than safe zones, there should be player constructed strong holds that are resilliant rather than safe. not only that, but have you ever considered just going into an appartment building with your friend and closed the door? thats pretty damn safe from zombies

Yeah, this would be great if it worked. but as said, it really would just be obliterated by bandits and griefers.

Unless there is something seriously wrong with my mod installation, it takes me a good 4 minuits to load up after i log into a server. when you consider how easy it is to hide in this game for 40 seconds or so, its really not worth the time i would have to spend sitting there with a black screen -

All realism asside, this cannot be done. The mechanics currently in play for dying mean that you cannot be respawned unless you leave and re join the server (i sure hope they fix that soon, i want a much, much faster respawn) and it would be far too much effort for them to allow you to be revived. it would be nice, but it wont happen -

That is the intention. If a bandit sees you they almost always have an idea of killing you. it would be nice if you could effectively shoot bandits on site the same way that bandits shoot you on site. it is simply to balance the equation. of course the other reason is it REALLY would be nice to know if people are friendly, because i myself am getting bored of shooting most of the people i meet due to distrust There is no problem here, you simply read wrong. bandits can kill AND be killed by anyone. Friendlies can kill and be killed by bandits, but not kill or be killed by friendlies. in other words, the only difference is that friendlies deal 0 damage to other friendlies. -
because it would be no fun if you could not tell the difference between player dropped junk or randomly spawned junk. the only way we could effectively have both spawn in litter and player litter is to change the item descriptions given in the inventory, so that you could tell the difference.

indeed, you will need multiple trucks to store the equipment in to build such things, which means its a huge operation requiring at the very least 5 people to make work. and even then with the amount of greenery on the map, even if they spent all week building they wouldnt take up much space. you could also limit it so that these constructions can only be built on the grass land (which are overly plentiful) which means its a good way to take up space. you also have to consider that in a server with 40 people, only 14 on average will ever be working on constructing vehicles oh any kind, if that. which means that even less are likely to make an entire fortress which, lets be honest, will only serve as a tiny spec on the map each.

This is exactly the kind of thing that we need as an end game. at the moment, great, i got a working helicopter, cant do anything with it! Got electrisity? now we are getting somewhere. reminds me of zombies on CoD but with much more effort put in. I'd give you my beans, but you've already eaten your weatabix today. -
i was thinking of something along these lines, but most bandits simply arent brave enough to carry it out. they will leave the tranqulizer for some other idiot to pick up and shoot you in the face with an m4 instead

Yeah this idea just supports players with more playtime and is yet another blow to new players. people with a decent sniper set up are already beefy enough, but could you imagine them with all these buffs? sorry, but this will never work effectively in DayZ also the blood regen would be crazy. 1 blood regen per second? do you have any idea how fast that is? 4 blood regen a minuit would be more effective.

what you are saying is basically a more advanced version of the way the engie in tf2 makes buildings? I'm totally down for that. god knows this mod needs a better end game, and to be able to create a genuine user created strong hold is one of the best ideas for it. and this would make it very possible. It would also make PVP so much more entertaining and is a good way to fill those empty grass areas that i hate so much

Same problem as the stun gun thread has, people could use this as a one shot kill weapon, making it so they can just walk up to you and kill you while you are out. ofcource they can do the same with a sniper, this just makes it so that more people have 1 shot kill weapons and the fact you will have to sit there with the eggtimer for ages waiting to die is a pain in the ass

I think it is fair to say that being defenceless upon spawning is a major attraction to the game because it makes it so that you feel you are really progressing when you come across items. I do however think that its bollocks that i cant do ANYTHING to avoid dying other than running should i be aggro'd. My suggestion is, a simple "push" that can be used only once every 4 seconds to trip one single zombie over, dealing 0 damage and they will get back up again, simply to buy you time. its really unrealistic not even being able to use your fists or anything when unarmed and i cant really see a shove that pushes over one single zombie with no damage dealt as overpowered. Rocket has a realism fetish, so theres no reason we cant atleast try to defend ourselves while unarmed.

yeah as has been said, the fact that you yourself have to move away from the screen to go do your business already compensates for that, just imagine that your character is laying bricks while you are on the pan if you just want it for realism sake -
As i said, the junk is not a spawn item, it is something left by players and if this idea were to take place it should in no way effect loot spawns, meaning that theres no reason to remove it, especially since it will serve as a footprint

it would help if there was a better chat system. to be honest, even if i come across someone who isnt a bandit and we have both decided not to shoot eachother, i would like to group with them, unfortunately, its hard to do that or come up with stratagies when all the players are mute. i dont happen to believe that everyone playing this game lacks the ability to form words, so why are the players? The idea makes sense though, a real nice solution of "im a good guy" and "im a bad guy". the fact that you cant be a "bad guy" without wearing the bad guy badge makes the whole thing possible. i dont see any issue with this, the fun factor is more important than the realism. (something this game really needs to take into account before ending the beta) -
The allergies is kind of pointless because some people just dont have them, i myself have never had an allergy to anything and ive come in contact with a lot of things, so id be pretty pissed off if my character who is meant to represent me had them. im not sure about the idea of a cast because from what ive seen people dont often carry around items to help other people unless they are already in a group. this is possible only if the game introduces much better systems to show that you are a friendly (which is something im really wanting.) i agree that morphene is BS, so maybe make it so that it stays temporarily and you can use casts to fix yourself, but it takes a while for the cast to get to take effect if you do it by yourself. I like the crazy meter, but i think it should be harsher. killing a bandit = a slight reduction in the meter and any murder (whether looted or not) should add to it. this avoids people looting just to abuse the system (for example, you could fill your backpack with their items, and then switch back so you have what you started with to not go insane, meaning there is no point in the looting system for it) I 100% dissagree with the non infinate running, i believe it should just dehyrate you faster. the map is big enough as it is, maybe even too big. the gaps from spawn to any decent places are often way too far. the only way they can fix this is to add more cities so that you can go from place to place (not to mention sort yourself up from the spawn) faster without the need to sprint for 20 minuits first. i like all the other ideas pretty much and the ones i mentioned are fine as long as they are introduced properly. the only one i would totally kick out is the allergies

Oh my god can you bandits stop crying about how it would take away from the experience? because it wont. YOU who like being bandits and / or killing bandits DONT HAVE TO PLAY THE NON PVP SERVERS. The idea is there for people that want to make friendlies and are simply an additional set of servers, which in no way takes away the normal pvp ones. You dont like it? then the idea has nothing to do with you, come up with a valid arguement about why it isnt possible, rather than just saying you dont want to play it. and as has been said, if they make it so that any progress made on the non PVP servers was saved seperately from the normal servers, there wouldnt be a problem.

sometimes it comes down to chance, i find the viewing distance on average is just about right, like you can crouch pretty damn near but just far enough that it seems legit. proning really does make you pretty much invisable unless you are on concrete. being at full sprint means you can pretty much be noticed anywhere on the street you are on which seems about right. the only problem is the occasional BS zombie that sees you when you are sprinting in the woods about 1/4 a mile away from his village and still aggros you, but those are rare

there is a thread showing alternate zombies in a youtube video that i like, called "zombie ideas" not a very origional name for the thread so its not easy to find, but the zombies are basically set as a hoard, similar to the dead rising setting. and naturally they should have more health but still be 1 shot head shotsable, move much slower other than the occasional sprinter. and these sprinters lose interest a bit sooner than the current Zeds, which chase you across the entire god damn map

more zombies, slower movement, thats what i wanted when i baught arma for DayZ, have to say the zombies at the moment are dissapointing. I WANT HOARDS. the zombies in that video look perfect for what i was hoping for. shut up and take my beans.

ive never been spawn killed, i think what you mean is you ran from the spawn, for half an hour trying to find a dencent place to loot and got shot before finding anything. similar feeling, different definition
