The title says it all. i want to play the real arma 2 but every time I load it up through steam it loads dayz. How can i fix this?

Only if all nights are moonlit. sorry but non moonlit nights are bullshit at the moment, you cant see fences at all even when you are walking into them and there is no where for fresh spawns to go. you also cant attack at all if you are out of flares or have none because your only light source is equiped as a "weapon". maybe...MAYBE i would be ok with the pitch black nights if the flashlight gets fixed. if i can job with it without flailing like a retard and hold it with my pistol, i would be happy to keep pitch black nights. However your suggestion itself will not work. because there are people that work all day for a living that may happen to want to play dayz at day time when they get home at 7pm. otherwise it would JUST be night time. This is important to remember because a vast amount of the dayz community are 24+

yeah it would be cool, maybe for vet + servers only though. there is already a lot of stress to new players that don't understand what is happening and stop playing the game. this would really rub it in

cardboard boxes would not work because you could only store them inside. maybe when we have the ability to build our own roofs. but otherwise the rain would just ruin the box, and my meat would be all soggy..

I did a search for this topic and i didn't find one as all the topics on empty mags were about being able to shift ammo from one mag to another (which would have to be in the game for this topic to work.) The idea is pretty much in the name. add empty mags for primary guns to all loot tables as junk spawns and add stray bullets (rarity would be dependant on location) to loot tables aswell so that you could pick up single bullets and fill them into empty (or any non full) mag that supports the ammo type. this would mix up the junk items to be much more interesting and is much too tedious to be overpowered. Also as a side note, i have said this with tin cans before and i think it would also work well with empty mags. Make it so that when you use up a magazine and the ammo hits zero, you still have the empty clip in your inventory and have to drop it manually if you don't want it. this would be a nice way to track people by making assumptions of group size and the weapons they are using by the dropped mags. ofcourse you would also have to consider that it may just be generated by the loot table, so you would have to think on your feet a little.

yup, shotguns in this game suck. It would probably do more damage to an organic lifeform (a human) to be hit point blank by a slug from a shotgun than it would to be hit by a .50 cal anti material riffle. But apparently in chernarus they accidently swapped all the slug and pellet ammunition with BB's just before the zombies came in.
