RESPECT to Black Dow. Controls are currently HORRIBLE. I've googled, Youtube and followed all instructions but still the torch wont turn on. "L" doesn't work. ";" doesn't work. So I lose my character to the dark after investing 6+ hours of gameplay. Most ashamedly to get that far I had crept up behind a player "LIAM" who hadn't noticed me while he was noobing around with the piss poor inventory system and crowbarred him in the head. LIAM had guns and ammo I had torch and crowbar. Having stolen kit that would have taken me ages to find I felt really shit. I suspect he'd put several hours in to find his meagre gear. Really sorry LIAM. Yes there was a narrative a story I made myself but the controls certainly got in the way. My main concern, and I hope Rocket reads this, is that DayZ could be somewhat of a pyramid/ponzy scheme. Those that started out, were totally savvy to the reality of the game, were able to team up or bandit as their hearts desired, those individuals will have got the best from the game. As interest rises more people join there will be more spawn killers and less collaborators. Without easier access in terms of playbility the numbers will whither. A lot of flamers will tell me this is a good thing. Meh.
