Repairing a Chopper
NocturnalS1n replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
This guy has the correct answer. You can ignore the windows but if you do you'll hurt for fuel. As it is currently bugged with a fuel leak, regardless of the engine being on or not, unless you repair all 8 windows. 2-4 of the windows are not visible other than by context menu with a windscreen glass. And as he also stated, despite what it took before, it takes far more than the normally suggested 20-50 cans to top it off. 20 cans will get you a 1/4 of a tank or so. Which isn't bad, as a 1/4 of a tank can fly from one end of the map and back. -
If Rocket Didn't Push Out The Patch, Surely There's Some Way He Can Un-nerf/Reason With The Devs.
NocturnalS1n replied to Chewbacca Jesus's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Why? Neither the FAL or the AKM changed. And "other pistols," only makes a little sense, seeing as how the 9mm were nerfed as well. (Also, most people will use a FAL over an AKM, if it weren't for the fact they only came from crash sites along with their ammo, while AKM's are pretty darn plentiful in ammo and the weapon itself, OH and the AKM can be zeroed.) At least LOOK at the changes before saying something in defense of them. They changes are quite obvious from an ARMA 2 stand point, not Day Z. It shouldn't take upwards to 14 9mm rounds to kill somone. Normal Arma 2 players don't have 12k hp like we do in Day Z. Not to mention you can't kill a full health player with either a M1911, nor a Revolver with their entire magazine, barring headshots and bleeding damage. http://dayzdb.com/ IMHO it doesn't affect me much, only sidearm I rely on is my M9 SD, in which I tend to go for headshots anyways. However it does somewhat ruin the effectiveness of the MP5 and Bizon just enough that the M4 SD is a much better alternative. Also, one more thing, this was an ARMA 2 PATCH, not a Day Z one. It wasn't centered around Day Z and the changes are obvious of that with what I previously stated. Adapt or die attitude toward is somethimg completely ridiculous when this mod is going for just as much realism as normal Arma, as the changes are much more in line with Arma 2 than Day Z. People keep throwing all kind of nonsensical comments around thinking this update was for Day Z. Most of these people are ones who bought Arma 2, soley for Day Z, and more than likely haven't touched the non-modded game much at all.- 71 replies

Tents no longer saving. (Not the usual server restart bug.)
NocturnalS1n posted a topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Okay. Camp gets raided, we decided to pick up and move. The usual. Well until the fact that any new tents we have, won't save items inside. Tons of tents, tons of tries, different conditions, manners, and usual work arounds that will get them to stick. From time to time, the first time you set a tent down, items may not save inside after the first restart, but afterwards they usually do. Usually. Its Alpha, and nothing is ever for certain. I hundred and ten percent get that, however this bug just started popping up, and I've looked and looked for this particular situation and can't find anyone but my friends and I who are having this issue. Like I said, any new tent, and even a few old ones, won't save. They'll always revert back to a previous inventory. For example, have a new tent or a tent with current items, replace current items for DMR Mags, save it, go about your business, server restart, and bam, back to the original empty tent, original items, or even the DMR mags. However if you land with the DMR mags, there will be a catch. You will no longer be able too add anything else, or take away anythign else permanently, as it will be reset again after a server restart. The first items to save successfully in the tent will be the last items to save in the tent after a server restart. Our group is going insane trying to find out what could be wrong. Is the location on the map problematic maybe? Its not out of bounds if thats the case. Too many tents on the server perhaps? Tents, barbed wire, tank traps, and sand bags, don't disappear even if taken down or destroyed currently. They pop right back up after a restart. So perhaps the server is overlaoded with them? And its the only method or storage affected right now. Vehicles and their sotrage is currently the only persistant place we cna store anything as of right now. Its the only thing that saves. Couple of other non-issues. Server is fully up-to-date. It IS connected to the HIVE, so no worries of playing on some form of private server, everythign else we do persists just fine across other servers. Its just tents doing this. I'm wanting to point fingers at a possible HFB problem, as it is a very recent problem that poped up over the weekend. Or perhaps I suggested. some form of "overload." Perhaps I missed something, another thread that ran into this *exact* problem. I'm used to tents messing up, losing items, not saving. But I'm not used to them permanently, and completely breaking. As I already said, I understand its Alpha, but trying to work this out and understand why such an unusual form of a usual problem has appeared. Any suggestions, ideas, or help would be appreciated. If mroe details are needed to nail down a possible cause I'm glad to help. I didn't submit a bug report yet as, well sicne I can't find this issue elsewhere, yet can't be the first ever to hit it, I wanted to ask around first, as looking around failed. Also sorry for making this so long winded, just tired and wanted to get as much info out as possible, as well as at wits end trying to solve this. EDIT: Just remembered, and wanted to clarify. We don't care about losing items, what is lost can nearly always be regained, we just care about the ability to store items, period. We technically could use vehicles to store everything, but we'd prefer not to hog vehicles, for sucha purpose. We're a rather large group so lack of places to stick stuff is a real killer. -
HFB Camo / Ghillie suit problem fixed

So any others try this out yet since the OP posted? -
HFB Camo / Ghillie suit problem fixed
NocturnalS1n replied to phisher34's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
I understand that, you stated it in your first post. I just wanted reassurance that the same could be said for every server after a reinstall. Chances point to a yes, but a few more testimonies or more in depth reassurance would never hurt. :P -
HFB Camo / Ghillie suit problem fixed
NocturnalS1n replied to phisher34's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
So is it guaranteed that tents, vehicles, etc. will stay after a reinstall? That is my only qualm about taking such a measure if there is a risk for losing stuff. I mean everything stayed for your server, and if that is the case with any reinstall, it'd be great to know. -
L85A2 AWS not existing in my game.
NocturnalS1n replied to JohnnyMadMan's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
From what I heard its a glitch that it got removed, not that its spawning. And for most people they can see the gun just fine. It is usually bugged however in that if you log out wiht the gun it will disappear. http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/31766-l85-tws-still-in-game/ Wish I could find the Rocket post. -
Can a DayZ Dev figure out what is wrong with the HFB servers?
NocturnalS1n replied to phisher34's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Thing is though, this doesn't occur on toher servers, at least the few I did try. I don't believe they were HFB but, if they weren't that would really coincide with the many reports coming in on these forums and elsewhere. -
Can a DayZ Dev figure out what is wrong with the HFB servers?
NocturnalS1n replied to phisher34's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Our server is just the same. Was trying out a pair and it duped my backpack 3 times. As in, I set my backpack down to avoid the common ghillie bug that destroys packs. I put the ghillie on and bam, an empty backpack of the same type was on my back, took it off, and bam another one under that. Logging out and then logging back in got rid of my camo,(appeared back in my inventory), and then i had all my gear again that I previously laid on tehg round before putting the ghillie back on. Haven't tried joining while wearing it though. But compared to what most people have said, we're not getting the same results on our server. In fact logging off with it on, will place an NPC everyone else can see in the log off spot, named "Sniper" with the same backpack an gear inside. When the person logs back in they can't see this "NPC" but others can. Usually goes away after awhile or after a restart. (This also doesn't happen on other non-HFB servers.) -
Tents no longer saving. (Not the usual server restart bug.)
NocturnalS1n replied to NocturnalS1n's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Going to bump this. This is too unique of a problem for no one else to have run into it. -
http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/43202-tents-no-longer-saving-not-the-usual-server-restart-bug/ Just linking my post I recently threw up. Having the exact same issue on our server. Are these on HFB servers by the way? Not going out of my way to fault them, just trying to pin things down.
