  1. As much as I like the idea - people will continue to use TeamSpeak/Mumble/Ventrilo, and nothing's ever gonna change that. So every gameplay or design decision which relies on players voluntarily giving up their VoIP usage will end up very bad IMHO. The only possible way I see to stop real-life friends from getting the VoIP advantage is to disallow picking your own server. So they can still voice chat but it would be very unlikely that they'd ever meet on the same server, so it wouldn't give them any advantage. But even then people who meet randomly ingame can still invite each other on Skype to get an advantage again. And looking at how Day Z server hosting currently works (relying on people who want to pay for their own servers and build communities) I don't see this happening anyway.

Walked into a camp site at Pik Kozlova :)

Could anyone with more tent experience elaborate on that? As I understand it, "saving" will just save the contents to the hive (which would be lost otherwise). Or does "saving" really lock the tent for strangers?

    Animals in dayz

I guess if you have wood and matches to actually cook the meat, you usually also have a hatchet. So just use that to kill the animal instead of thinking about how many bullets you have to waste.

    I am a Bandit?

Can somebody give me some insight into the current survivor / bandit game mechanics? I read bandit skins and the Humanity indicator have been removed from the game. But do these mechanics still exist, although they're not shown directly any more? I once read if you aim at a bandit you'd start breathing heavily. Is that (still) true? How are murders counted exactly? Or is every kill a murder? I read up as much as I could on the topic, but I still don't get a clear picture, so I thought I'd ask here.
  5. So after about one hour I finally manage to meet up with my friend on a server, so he can give me a blood transfusion. It took him some deaths to reach me as he had to start from scratch and we're both not very experienced. But I've gathered some nice medical supplies, a shotgun and some ammo for the first time and been doing quite well so far with this character, so I really wanted that blood transfusion as I'm down to 6000 blood. I already had a bag ready. So I want to put the blood bag into his backpack. I scroll the mouse wheel, I select the backpack, and then - because for some reason I've gotten used to it and it always worked so far when picking up loot for example - I click the LEFT mouse button instead of the middle one. Boom, headshot -_- Not sure if it's a bug, or if I'm just stupid and didn't understand the interface completely yet...
