    72 days alive. Finally put down.

    First day back, I met up with a guy who turned out to be a bandit. Didn't matter, we worked for about 2 hours, got geared up, spent an hour in Cherno. Got into a close quarters engagement with a couple of snipers on a rooftop, 15 minuet standoff. We held out, The sniper hidden behind a doorway decided he wanted to talk to us, see who he was facing. While he was holding down the mic key, we moved in. After grabbing the loot and heading to another buddy to get out,I slipped over the railing and fell to my death. Such is life in the zone.

  5. Jesus, read the other 17 "care bear explanation" threads below yours.. You're defenses are hit over and over again, the argument simply does NOT hold up to Rocket's idea for HIS mod. I'm tired of repeating myself over and over again. I can give you one tip, before you post another thread like this: Read Rocket's interviews, find his posts and READ them, see what HE believes this game should be like. You can list 150 reasons why your "care bear" antics are the right way, but they're NOT. This is Rocket's mod, its HIS. We didn't pay for it. It is an experiment. The ONLY way you can change they're behavior, is to go in game, start a milita, and CHANGE it. There will be NO god hand aimed against any play style. Its not how Rocket wants it. People who can not adapt to the way DayZ IS, will fade away. He will NOT change DayZ to KEEP the players who can't adapt.

    Thank you. Simply tossing in my two cents on the issue. I too played as a fearful survivor for the longest time, before teaming up with the [NwO] at ground level. As it stands, they do a pretty decent job of controlling a large area of land and gathering up a fair amount of supplies to distribute amongst their members...new and old alike. This is the sort of teamplay I was looking for. A well-organized 'militant' team. Unfortunately, many do not seem to understand that this mod is what you make of it, not what it makes -for- you. This is not Left4Dead. This is DayZ. While I have my own issues with some of the features, this is 'The Road' in comparison to 'Mad Max'. It is brutal, visceral, and indicative of human nature. The strong survive (longer), and the weak end up dropping the game after a week or so of play, to go play TDM or CTF on their Modern Warfare servers. For some reason, I'm entirely okay with that. Now now, your stretching your luck. Mad Max doesn't have any care bears either ;)

    My golden ticket for building destructibility in the editor: Does landing a C-130 on the roof at 150 miles an hour cause cause integrity issues? I think more home-made, ad-hoc, IED style explosives would be better. Modified artillery shell, ect.

    Hide body irrelevant due to 15 minute body despawn

    Hiding bodies gives 14 mins 30 seconds more of a chance for a possible avoided encounter.

    Yeah, whats there to learn. He was either going to die due to broken legs and lack of blood, or from a bandit. Might as well take the chance, if he wasn't going to hit the respawn button himself.

    A Carebear isn't somebody who prefers teamwork over being a bandit. Its somebody who sits on the forum crying about a lack of forced leverage against bandits.

    This might be something you would want to shoot, by email, to the dev teams public email address, rather than post here. The reason being whether or not its going to help the devs, input from the community isn't going to help much. I know I can't advocate it at all, because i'm a technical idiot.

    One mega server for all persistant items ?

    I got totally lost in your post, but you're topic title brings up a good idea. We're currently going to one mega database for all our persistence character data. Whats to say we can't pull half that data, being tents/vehicles/future persistant objects, from another? I'm not a technical guy, but it sounds like this would either speed things up, or slow them down.
