Make campfires last much longer when placed near tents.

If you have a tent, load it up with firewood you find while scavenging. Unless your burning the tent itself for fuel, there is no wisdom behind long lasting fires around camp tents, as you stated. Perhaps as another suggestion, Rocket could add random loot spawns in forest areas that only produced firewood. -
Park that in front of your camp and you've got Mad Max: Roadwarrior.. DayZ

I take all my runs outside at night, past cornfields, due to my schedule. I have no sort of loss in sanity when I run through the dark, aside from the 2 weeks after I watched the movie Signs.. It worked in Amnesia due to the plot and setting, and was directly related to the monsters and Castle Brennenburg. It won't work here in DayZ because for 9 hours a day, 50% or more of players will be playing entirely in the dark.

Yeah, there truely is no party system in any sort of real life. Teamspeak, steam message, skype, mumble, what have you.. you can easily check in with your party, and consider yourself such. Parties are, in most video games, just a way to show you're in a group. That knowledge comes already when your in a group of friends.

Eggzactly why I don't collect high level gear. I have far more fun roaming the wastes with mid-level weaponry and food, so I don't ever stress about death. If I die, I just get another chance to take over an apartment building, ect. -
Ok, to answer your QUESTION, as others seem unable. You're humanity bases your skin. You need it up to 2000 to return to a survivor skin. Though the debug menu doesn't show it anymore, its still there. Keep fighting zeds, and not killing survivors, and you'll turn back. Having just killed one person, you will change back shortly. Giving blood, bandages, ect, also helps. Bandit skins will be gone completely in an upcoming update.

I never make it through a DayZ video. If I have the spare time to watch a DayZ video, I usually get the urge to log on and actually play. I suggest keeping yours to 6-7 mins, as well as speeding up the slow parts. It'll keep others interest up and make watching multiple videos easier. -

Oh yes, in DayZ being a survivor is actually a beneficial, enjoyable living. I happen to simply be talking about the forum. All these hardcore, hard headed, "bad ass" bandits seem to brag on the forum about how great they area and how carebear WE are.. but, in game, i've met FAR more nice, normal headed, sociably friends than these "awesome" bandits. They call me a carebear here, because they're unable to muster the social skills necessarily to log in and play DayZ. I've even formed my own reputation. People see me in servers and say "hey, I remember you, you're friendly!" Must be the unique name. FRIENDLY! -

I see these threads popping up all day, but i'm simply not having the same problems. It must be good luck, or decent servers, or the fact that I play off of peak hours.. but I don't run into the CoD people nearly as often as people claim. Sure, I see terrible bandits "bragging" about how deadly they are in side chat, but i've met FAR more friendly survivors on the coast than violent backstabbing bandits.

You sound like a great guy. No sarcasm. Its a shame the anti-social dog kicking bandits will flood this topic saying "carebare" (for some reason, it still escapes me how human emotions are considered a bad trait in they're broken minds.) Remember, in DayZ, people with the ability to make friends and survive without resorting to unnecessary killing are the ones considered "strange." As for your story, I think it may be one of a kind. I've not seen anything even close to it. -

I had some bad luck in gunfights against bandits a while ago. I don't play games anymore, and certinally don't trust my bullets. If I have a shot, I unload a magazine as quickly as possible without regard to aim, before rolling out of my position, reloading, and firing some just-in-case rounds.. just in case. -

In one server I was in, a group of survivor/bandits took over Bolota airfield. They had generous supplies of ammunition, weaponry, and medical supplies. Anyone with car parts, helicopter parts, or other particulars we're permitted to come in and trade for what they needed. I thought that was cool. -

They actually sell "chem-lights" for 60 cents a pop at most sporting good stores. They're not a rare military technology. Also, many households come with lights installed in the ceiling. Some box stores even sell lamps. -
