Quick suggestion a server discussed the other night. I'd like to see jerry cans with the ability to be filled with water as well. Secondly, to be able to fill water canteens off said jerry cans multiple times. Rough example, 5 times. Also, be able to put ocean water in a jerry can, and boil it over a fireplace. That will give you 5 bottles of fresh water in the jerry can to disperse among st water canteens. -

Moving my own suggestion up as humans tend to do, I agree with the message above, its clearly what I meant, no doubt at all. Works for me though ;) -
Somebody suggested noise traps, and this could expand that even more. I like the idea. Bear traps, sound traps, shotgun traps, that can be placed with a kit and a toolbox. Would allow for more alterations in camp design, and reward astute players with non-broken feet, ect.

I didn't consider limiting matches over limiting firewood. I'm changing my vote and aiming it at this suggestion. This would solve the need for firewood, and those complaining fire doesn't last long enough. They could keep they're fire going as long as they had matches to keep it going.

I think nearly everybody re spawned back on the coast from last night to now. I did, and nearly everybody on a couple servers I played on earlier had mentioned similar. Sideeffects of alpha, I suppose.

I've never been killed before I had time to move 50 yards off the beach and into the nearest cover. Camping on the beach is way over exaggerated if people beleive they're being killed the second they spawn. There simply are not enough spawn-killing bandits in a 50 person server to possibly cover all 100km of coastline spawn. Its not that great a risk, and it defeats some of rockets purpose in this experiment.

If you have enough trust to form a group, have enough trust to flip a coin and call it out over teamspeak/what have you. Not that this suggestion doesn't have any weight, it just is the last thing an Alpha game needs to consider as a boxed feature.

A solution to KOS and death match mentality?

I like to start in response to all these threads with; there is no "death match" mentality, its a way overused term, and its way over exaggerated. There truely are a great deal more "friendlies" and "survivalists" and "legitimate" bandits than these "death match CoD kids." I think rockets emphasis in this mod, as an experiment, is to add NO positives or negatives to any sort of play style. Hes just allowing this to happen. -

Diesel locomotives rely on tiny amounts of diesel gas to generate massive amounts of electricity needed to move it along the track. Tiny amounts of diesel, in comparison, really. This is a very possible suggestion. That is why trains are still used in 2010, despite trucks being quicker. They can move thousands of tons of material with a very small amount of diesel. Once a train gets going, it doesn't cost much to keep it moving. Edit: I have no idea why I said 2010, when it is 2012.

Realism concerned, this wouldn't be an issue. IV Techs regularly train on themselves, its no different than setting up an IV on anyone else, its possible in real life, at this moment. However, I think the feature is in to fuel social behavior even among loners, as part of the experiment that is DayZ. My perfect scenario is blood slowly regenerating if food and water stay maxed.

Searched for this suggestion,pushing it back up. Specifically, loot spawns in the woods that only generate wood.
