Only at close range. At 100 yards it may not penetrate a heavy coat. It's down to ~900FPS which is airgun speed. At 50 yards it still has 1000FPS and 89 ft. lbs. so it'll probably get through a skull at 50 yards. Is a .22 lethal, of course it can be, but the size and speed of the bullet makes a very small hole. It will take a long time to bleed out from a hit to the abdomen or any large muscle group. A headshot or heart shot would be necessary for a quick takedown. Otherwise, like I said, they have plenty of time to bandage and then beat you to death with the empty rifle. An M4 fires a bullet almost the same diameter as the .22 but since the velocity is so much higher it creates a much larger wound cavity and thus more shock and a much faster drop in blood pressure. Water is a great bullet stopper. If the bottle is full of water it'll drop the velocity significantly. I often find pellets from my air rifle inside a leaky Gatorade bottle.

Love the 10/22. Not ideal for Zombies unless you hit them in the head. Would be ideal for Rabbit hunting in the wild north. As for Large animals and Survivors, it should cause bleeding but virtually no shock or health loss. So if you hit someone with it, you'll just make them mad. Unless it's a head shot at close range.

IMHO, Complaining about problems in the game is valid, alpha or not. Complaints about problems with the game is the POINT of having an alpha. If nobody complained about anything "because it's alpha", the devs wouldn't get much feedback. As long as they are constructive, Complaints here help other players avoid problems and lets others know they aren't the only ones having the problem. That being said, it's useless to complain about things that aren't broken. Game "features" won't be changed and player behavior can't be fixed.

100 people on one server and it hasn't been rebooted in hours. There's not much left. Granted there's always a better chance of finding anything up north but the few places I checked inland were looted clean.

I didn't get to electro, I was in Berezino and small towns just to the south with a brief trip inland. There were people everywhere. Everyone looked like a fresh spawn. Nobody had any weapons or food. Flashlights and pants litter the ground everywhere. Dead bodies all over. I found a couple of food cans in various buildings but didn't have anything to open them with. I was searching the tower apartments in north Berezino and found a bag of rice. Just when I finished eating it, a pair of players saw me from outside and one of them who was geared with a mosin and a fire axe came in looking for me. I gambled he didn't have any ammo and I waited for him with my pipe wrench. I got the jump on him but unfortunately, I didn't get the head shot I needed and his fire axe won. In a side note, what is it with people running around without pants? When I see someone without pants I punch them in the face.

To be fair, re-reading it myself, it might have seemed a little complainy. An easy misunderstanding especially with all the complaining that goes on around here.

The game crashed and kicked me out twice now. Client side doesn't seem too stable. I'm minutes away from starving to death. I've eaten a rotten bannana and a rotten orange and haven't gotten sick yet but I'm still starving. Looking for anyone I can beat to death with my pipe wrench and take their food. I'm ready for the devs to add cannibalism to the game. The server is filled up with 100 players which means people must be having fun.

You misunderstood. (or rather I miscommunicated) I'm saying it's alot of fun with that many people. Scarcity of resources makes it a whole new game.

They are advertized as private servers. You know you're going to get kicked before you join. So why do you try to join? I have no problem with it. Someone pays for a server they should be able to do what they want with it. I have no urge to join a server just because it says I can't. Now of course they can gear up on their safe private server and then switch to public servers with all that ill gotten booty. That's cheating, but that's another topic.

I haven't seen any either. Was wondering if it's gone or just more rare. My theory is that it's just in higher demand now that legs can be broken again.

Yes. Bullets CAN penetrate walls. IRL and In Game. Penetration in Arma2&3 depends on the caliber and velocity of the bullet but also depends on the material the wall is made of. I'm not sure how much of this was brought into DayZ SA but I do know you can get shot through walls and floors. Especially wooden ones. Of course if they can't see you they don't know where to aim, but I was shot through the wall once because my breath gave away my position. If you're near a wall, your breath fog will pass through the wall and someone outside can see where you are. If you're right up against a wall, part of you might be sticking out the other side. Axe handles, knees and elbows and other parts often clip through walls and can be seen outside. Of course if they have enough ammo they can just fill the whole house full of holes hoping to hit something.

Sounds like he's still in pain from a previous injury. Even after you bandage and stop the bleeding, a pain effect can remain. Is he making pain sounds every few minutes? To stop that you need to use morphine. Painkillers should work also but they don't work yet. I had it for a while. I looked everywhere for morphine and couldn't find any but when I logged back in the next day it had stopped.

No performance drop for me. The rain doesn't seem to make my clothes wet and doesn't seem to have any adverse effects at all yet. Being indoors doesn't stop the rain either. Must be leaky roofs everywhere,

Happened to me yesterday. Strange to have a stack of Zero. I wonder if it's really zero. Haven't tried to load it or split it yet.

It's dynamic. Seems to be happening alot lately though. I think rain was disabled for a while for performance reasons and was re-enabled last patch

In THIS game, Why would you advertize to everyone exactly where you are and what you're doing? Streamsnipers, have at him. In other games like BF4 it doesn't matter, but in this game, success depend a great deal on stealth. Streaming makes you a tempting and easy target.

You really shouldn't be that attached to your character. It's not healthy. Rule #1 of this game, Don't get attached to your gear. The most likely outcome here is that someone will come to "Help" you and then put a bullet in your head just for laughs. If it were me I'd crawl to the nearest zombie and bleed out so I can start over. If you do have an unhealthy attachment to your gear, you can contact the Trusted Medics of the Wasteland. It's been ~2.5 hours since the update started. They were scheduled to start at 12:00GMT but I think they started late. The Dev team posted on Twitter that they were starting now at ~6:23am Pacific Time. . Also, there was a database problem with the update they still have to fix. I think they pushed it to stable while the code was still pointing to the experimental database. Rocket posted that they were working on fixing that at ~7:18am Pacific Time

No reason to think that was a shotgun. It was clearly an automatic of some kind. As far as what it sounds like, sounds are unreliable in the game at this point, don't trust anything you hear. Could be he was shooting through the wall, which is not cheating. Bullets go through walls IRL and in game. Do most people not know that you can legitimately shoot through walls and floors?

Not enough of a difference to make a difference in gameplay = No difference. 0.000001 = 0, or close enough that it doesn't matter.
