So maybe its just the way the game works or maybe its an issue with my ATI 6850 video card. Since I started playing Arma2 DayZ it has been happening but not on any other software or game.The server time does not matter happens during the day and night cycle. As a matter of fact I saw it on a video on you tube doing the same thing. I bought the game from steam IDK if that makes a differece or not. I poked around on here on the forums and see no mention of it anywhere that I could see. Has anyone else experienced this while playing? PS All my settings are maxed out to by the way. I played with them but it's still happening even after a restart of the game.

Is there a way to make it less sensitive? It gets pretty dark and then pretty bright to where it is nothing but white light or pitch black at time. Not all the time but a good bit. I turned down my monitors but that doesn't help much.

I read that error will go away if you keep trying to log in.

This method worked for me. There was only one issue.. Steam did not download the files it was suppose to the first three times I tried this. Once steam re dowloaded some of the files that were missing from the cache it worked for me and I am in game.

Make sure you right click steam and run as admin. Watch steam to make sure is downloads the botched files. I had to do this four times today to get it to work. A pain in the neck but once those files downloaded it started working for me.

Yeah I made sure to run as admin this time. Closed it all out and made sure. lol. Okay this time it down loaded 1 file for Arma 2 and 3 files for Arma OA. So this process works if done properly and to make sure to watch steam downloads the files. Not sure why it didn't download the first two times. BadBadRobot you win the interwebs today. Congrats.

Its got me too. I am trying the steps mentioned above one more time. Cant remember if I ran as Admin. Seems to me I wouldnt need to do this if I am logged in as the Admin but I will let you know if it fixes it for me or not.

Keep up the good work everyone. I am hooked. I understand its still in alpha phase of development. I can deal with that. This is a one of a kind game. Granted there are other zombie games but not like this. ((that I know of anyway)) Just wanted to say thank you and keep up the good work.

Most server have that function turned off from what I have read and seen.

Does the OP know what alpha means? Its not your squad call sign just so ya know.

There is a post about this in the trouble shooting section. If you bought the game using steam is part of the issue. Something to do with steam updating arma 2. Go check it out I had the same issue.

Yeah no guns on spawn. Just your Dora back pack,1 flesh light, 1 bandage and 1 unit of pain killers.

Has anyone thought to think about that your eye adjust to seeing at night after awhile? I play paintball games at night and you might not see as well as people with NVGs but you can still see enough to not walk into anything. Your eyes adjust everything looks like gray to me at night or black and white.
