You hit it on the head there - if you place them in such a way that the packed tents are under the leaves and un lootable its because of the trees themselves.

The (X) markers can be placed by double clicking on the map, removed them by hovering over it with the mouse and hitting delete on the keyboard. Waypoints are just like HMS said - shift click the map and you will get a marker on your hud showing distance to the waypoint.

Not quite to do with DayZ but I hear a player by the name of Walter White was banned from the MogzKat TTT server on Gmod. Take that as you will.

Might be fun to drive around in a Tunguska and shoot down bi planes aha. --edit-- After playing for a bit (was super lucky, spawned and found a crashed chopper - boom L85 and more mags than you could as for) I found a chopper, a plane and a UAZ. After server reset I thought I would call it a night - will be on again tomorrow :3

The S1203 is fairly decent, and the UAZ is a slight sidegrade. Im happy enough with these, but then again, more vehicles are always welcome.

Find yourself a G17 or a PDW, and only fight them indoors. Take a Makarov until then.

The only time I go to Cherno or Elektro is gearing at spawn (finding say a map, bag, water bottle and a couple food). Other than that, I use Berezino for medicine, Stary for low end military gear, and then the factory near orvolets and the berezino lumber mill for industry parts. Cherno and Elektro are trash - too far from anything to be reasonable loot points imo.

I think its more down to luck than anything - I havent had a hacker occurrence for about two weeks now, but I havent been on regularly recently so take that how you will.

I have been using this myself - its great for getting a bearing of where you are and if you are pro (like me) can navigate fully over the map using just this. Not found a loot map yet myself but from the look of things, there arent many loot areas outside of the main towns etc, so just reference the lingor and chenarus buildings and see what CAN spawn in each building and go from there. To note, apart from the airstrips, there are far fewer military spawns than lingor, but maybe slightly more than chenarus. Found a single military building near the oilfield, one of those that you cant enter but theres like 3 spawn points in a little alcove in one end. Other than that, I havent found much at all.

I think tents in buildings tends to happen when buildings 'dont load' for some reason, like, a friend logged in in stary once (I was already logged in there waiting for him) and in skype he just yelled 'THERE ARE NO FUCKING BUILDINGS AND SHIT, DAFUQ.' and then proceeded to run through said buildings.

This is why servers should be restarted every 12 hours minimum imo.

Depends what you are using it for - I tend to keep a PDW at all times, but I grab a G17 from camp if we are doing night stuff.

I would always take the AKM, but thats because I cant use sniper rifles to save my life. Even at 300m I struggle to hit stuff with the DMR, but with the AKM, no problem. Idk. Im weird.

I agree there should be more vehicles, and perhaps nerf storage? I mean come on, everyone uses them as mobile tents right? Or is that just me? Now, im not saying completely remove storage, but making them pretty much mobile tents is slightly over the top. Maybe store two weapons and maybe 20 items. Lets you store supplies and backup weapons while not straight up making them ridiculous.

Im in the same boat - I cant use a sniper for the life of me, I stick to a trusty AKM or M14. Best choices for packing a punch if you cant snipe :P However, I have one friend that will not use ANYTHING other than his AS50, literally after he dies he sits around like a melon until we find one. Another friend swears by his DMR and shoots that thing in towns. I think its more down to preference if anything, I mean I went through a phase when I wouldnt use anything other than an MP5 or a FAL just because of how they sounded.

If you have updated through DayZCommander (Yellow arrow in the top right) and want to play through steam, go into the steamapps folder > common > OpA > Expansion > Beta - from there you copy the arma2oa.exe into the main OpA folder and you should be ok to run through steam.

Noticed this myself and can vouch for it - wondered why my temp was green (never happened before!) and then after 20 minutes of solid running my food and drink were still green. Was confused until I took the monitor off and noticed stuff was normal.

Scope makes me think its a AS50 TWS, but it looks like it has a silencer on the end (probably just the quality of the image) and if so it would make it a KSVK.

I use cheapo £5 jobies from PC World, no need to get all fancy for no reason. I mean having a £5 mouse wont really gimp you against a £60 one in my opinion.

HFB host their own Privates now, using something called Bliss. I would look into that as a starting point.
