Thanks to the Dayz team for some good times. Going to take a break from this excellent mod for some real PvP in BF3. Armored Kill is just around the corner. I'm jumping back into BF3 now to shake off the rust and get back up to par. It's been about 3 months of playing for me. Enjoyed every second. Can't wait for the Standalone. My only peeves were the screen glitching, but that's what testing is all about right. May pop in to check out the new updates. Especially if 1.7.3 comes out. I'll be back the minutes the Stand Alone is available in whatever format. Alpha, Beta, bugged all to shit, I don't care... See ya all later! Happy hunting. (a salute to all non-QQ'ers)

So I'm in Cherno, north end of town where the apartments and hospital are, and I hear a engine running. At first I think it's someone on a motorcycle then I see it! The abandoned car, engine running, surrounded by zombies. I'm thinking "What happened here?". Who cares, I run around to distract the Zs and quickly jump in. NICE! 3/4 tank of gas. Lets go! This was super sweet, my first car. Let head up north, go check out some northern towns. As I'm driving up the road going north from Cherno, I erupt into a huge explosion of flames!! I fly out of the car unconscious and die. Oh well. I figure I was shot from somewhere... But it was fun for those 5 mins. So that it, just a story of my first vehicle that ended in an epic fail.

It was a UAZ.... Didn't see any red warnings.....

Don't think it was a trap. I drove for a good 5 mins north before ka-boom. I think maybe the engine was damaged and I hit a bump. I heard stuff like that can happen. I was a new spawn, so I didn't care that I died. I only play for the shenanigans now....

So, I've upgraded to 1.7.2.6. Very nice... Anyhow, I was logging out for the night. I prone behind a tree, hit 'ECS' and just as I'm clicking 'abort' I get shot and went into shock. I was on US 2891 just north-west of Chreno in the forest, around 10:50pm EDT. Sorry to dude that took the shot, I was not combat logging, just checking out for the night. I would never pussy out like that. Hope my body stayed behind, had some nice stuff. So I immediately log back in on the same server only to find I re-started as fresh spawn. I didn't see the 'kill' splash screen. I'm not bitching or pissed, as I can get re-fitting in 20 mins. Found 3 tents loaded with stuff. Not hacked or duped stuff either. The moral of the story is (or tl;dr); technically I combat logged and logged back in as a fresh spawn. Does that mean they solved the ALT-F4 issue in 1.7.2.6?!?! That would be sweet, or was that bad luck for me?

Oh well... Back to those tents!!

You go to a "hiking/outdoor" store, look at the backpacks, and wonder how many cans of beans, pepsi cans, engine blocks and car tires you can fit in there?

Doom, Quake 1 and 2. Then dropped gaming until BC2, then onto BF3, then DayZ. Playing DayZ till Armored Kill comes out. Then back to the DayZ standalone.

Wait a second, back it up a little.... Raining buses! Admit it, that would be cool.

I enter as a fresh spawn and I'm running toward Elecktro from the est, followed by 30 or so Zed's, then all of a sudden they are gone. The whole lot of them. M'kay, never had that happen. As I'm approaching the town, close to sniper hill, there is a succession of loud explosions. Next thing I see is the north side of town on fire?!? As I'm crossing through town I find dead survivor after dead survivor, mostly on the north side. In the hospital, in fire station, in the streets. However, I cannot loot them. Some had guns, some did not. I did come across one guy in that particular area, he was suited up to the titties. He took a few shots at me, it was a silenced weapon, missed and disappeared. I'm assuming an ALT-F4. Work of a hacker? That was at 11:00pm edt.

I'm not trolling here, this is a legit question. So I spent the last few nights convincing people not to shoot me. Even when I told them I had NV goggles, M249SAW with ammo, blood, toolbox, map, compass... TO GIVE THEM! Nope, still shoot as soon as they finally see me. I did convince 2 guys once. Only once. I gave them everything I had as they were new to the game. Both had hand guns and rifles, so did I. So what will it take? Seriously. I play on the US servers and I go by "paul". I'm usually on the 40 player servers with a server time of 5:00pm. If you see me, be friendly and I'll have stuff for you. I don't ask for anything back (and no they are not hacked in items).

Is there anything special one needs to get fuel. Finally I find a quad and motorcycle, but they are out of fuel. So I then go and find a jerry can, and head over to the nearest fuel tank. Nothing. Tried to scroll for the 'fill' option, it's not there. Ok, find another fuel tank, again not working. Checked a loot map, run to the fuel tank shown on the map, again nothing. I tired standing next to it, on top of it... I also didn't have the toolbox at that time. So what gives... Thanks for the help.

I don't care if I loose my loot. There is more to find. I'm just hoping to get to people to trust one another and not be to trigger happy.

Well hopefully people will think differently when the stand alone version comes out. However my efforts to give/trade/communicate/hangout will continue. Will I die a plenty, oh yes. The all out PvP is fine, but the shoot now ask questions later needs to change. One can easily communicate from a fair distance, even from outside buildings, what your intentions are... But if you're prosperously out to kill other players, then so be it. It's your game. Yes, this is a funny problem.... To show that not everyone is a douchbag. All I need to survive is a few cans of food and water. I don't even need a gun to handle the Zeds.

I feel your pain. I've been trying to play the 'robin hood' type to no avail. I even warn a person I'm getting close (when I see them 1st) that I will not shoot and I'm ready to give and take nothing in return. They still shoot. Although one day I came across 2 guys. I had 4 blood packs and we gave each other blood transfusions, they were nice. But then someone came into the room an laid waste to us. lol.

You've actually tired to put a heli rotor assembly or an engine block in your backpack.

Is there a proper procedure to change the pack pack to say an Alice Pack. Seems I loose my stuff every time. I'll have a back pack full of items and I can't simply swap bags. The bag I drop disappears. Nor can I drop my items on the ground. They disappear too. So how is this done? Properly... Thanks for the help.

Love the odd Zombie train that flows through the town every once and a while. You can see the Zombie AI at work a little. Like someone said, a Cherno time laps would be cool. May capture some vehicles and maybe a gun fight!
