Think if people want to rent servers they should be able to set them up how they like, with that in mind however if they deviate to far from how the game is meant to be played they need to be removed from the public hive and be placed in a modded or private hive listing.

Before you go off and tell everyone how bad it is why dont you wait until the game is wait for it....complete? Seriously did it not dawn on you that many many things are missing and the game is far from balanced ..so before you go off and tell all your friends how this "alpha" sucks try coming back when its actually done? As for you getting everything in 1 day well ...if you did it legitimatly good for you, but again not impressed as its alpha and still needs much tweaking!

Why should I pay for a game with less features, when I can get a mod with more features for free?

Main reason is because you want to support the game and the company making it. As for Dayz mod being free well thats not quite true as you need to own arma 2 and many other addons for the arma game if you want all the Dayz "features"! Personally I felt it was money well spent and when I buy the SA I will have no regrets. -
You guys saying the game is about banditry for you perhaps, for me its about survival and that does not include murdering people (unless I am defending myself)! These types of games sadly bring out the worst players and the worst in players. Given a choice I would much rather earn trust of some folks and trade with them when needed...killing everyone seems rather counter productive to that goal! ;)

Until they implement private servers where you can whitelist nice people and keep the jerks off your server your going to be kos most of the time. As for someone claiming the mods setting the forums tone, all my encounters with mods on these forums have been very pleasent...perhaps those that have had issue could it be because you had a attitude to start? -
And its this reason here I for one will not even rent a server until I can add password or whitelist friends ...to keep the asses off the server I pay for. I personally would love to see them implement something where characters that are created on a private server can't play on any other server, just to keep people from getting all worked up about admin abuse. Many people who pay for private servers, do so that they can keep hackers and idiots out of the game they want to enjoy! ******************************** Test by Bb.

As a HFB user for little under a week I find them quite good in all areas and for the price 20$ for a private dayz ultimate hive 20 person server I am quite pleased. Also they are having that half off for life sale at the moment for new accounts, so for anyone else that opted for a similar account like mine it would be only 10$! :) -

Just wanted to mention this for anyone that is looking for a dayz server, I recently rented one sadly I do not qualify but for anyone new you would get this great deal. As I mentioned only been with them a few days but they had my server setup within a day or less, have full control over my "private hive" and its easy to change to other maps as needed far as I can tell since all are pre loaded on your server! I only pay 20$ month think that's pretty good deal for the 20 slot server with all the goodies that come with it, was honestly unsure I would ever return to dayz but for this price and the fact its (private) aka I hate hackers...this has renewed my love for dayz! "yay" Rather jealous for anyone that gets that same deal for half of what I paid due to this new deal! ;) -

Play arma 2 first to get a feel for the UI and controls....then when you feel you have a good understanding of how everything works you are almost ready for dayz! You see playing dayz is the only way to prepare you for well dayz! -

This is unacceptable I would demand a refund, oh wait we did not have to pay for this! ;) Ok sorry sarcasm off.. look its still in alpha testing if you do not have the patience to deal with a very buggy mod, you should wait for a later more stable build? -
When and if they allow us to password protect our servers, would be nice if there was a way to get everyone to start from scratch...no stockpiles nothing you login as did on your very first day playing DayZ! To set this up I imagine having a signup sheet for people interested in this then we select 40 players (survivors and bandits alike..hackers are kos then banned as always) that hopefully honor the rules, I know its hard to give up the goodies we all have accumulated but i think this could be so much fun if done correctly! Would any of you be interested in this type of server?

I had already updated to the latest version 95777 when I spotted this thread....and thought I would test my theory on what was causing the odd battleeye behavior. -

Yes I tested and it worked fine so believe its tied to the server version, our server is the latest version and everything appears to be working great! (yay) Glad I updated server asap when I spotted the new version. -
