  1. I've been playing DayZ for nearly a month now... And every time i play, it is the same thing. Spawn, loot, find shitty loot, move, loot, find good loot, walk around, loot, get shot in the face with a makarov as I'm typing "Friendly" in my chat. Or sometimes Spawn, loot, find shitty loot, move, loot, find good loot, walk around, loot, exit the building, and get instakilled by a camper on a rooftop with a CZ550. I would consider myself a nice player. I've never ever shot a person on sight. I've always typed Friendly and gave them the chance to ally with me. But 4 out of 5 times, it results in my death. Why? I've had an incident where I was loaded with an AKM in my hands and a M9 SD in my holster, and I stumbled across a survivor with a makarov and the spawn backpack... I typed Friendly and offered to help him, and he shot me. I had to put him down with a spray from my AKM... Why? I've had an incident where I walked up to a survivor about 80-90 m away with a hatchet in my hand. I typed Friendly, proceeded to walk to him, and got shot down with an M1911... Why? I'm trying to help, I'm tying to be nice, to be humane, and help out a fellow survivor, I was planning to share some Epi-pens and morphines with you, why would you shoot me down... If I saw you and I didn't shoot for the 15 seconds that passed before you shot me down, doesn't that mean I was never thinking of killing you? Come on people, cooperate, instead of being greedy and killing a potential companion. Sure if I was running to you guns blazing you have all the rights to shoot me, but why shoot someone walking to you with guns lowered who said they're friendly... These kind of events really ruin the game for me, and I'm pretty sure for a lot of people it ruins the game too. Even in a post - apocalyptic scenario, people would still band together to increase their chance of survival.. Don't shoot first, ask questions later.
  2. Zombie Apocalypses don't disable cars... Lots of people could've died at home with their cars in perfect shape.. sedans in front of houses, offroads next to barns, Urals in military bases..

  6. I go into a high population server, fire off a full mag from my M4a3, then disconnect.. Then i lol at how afraid the people who heard those shots would be :D

Why are cars so rare in Chernarus?

uhh no. Cars up to about the mid-90s are hotwireable, and thats irrelevant because Chernarus is like an ex-soviet nation which uses only outdated vehicles which means they should all be hotwireable.

Why are cars so rare in Chernarus?

Well I've been proven wrong by me I found a car :D gotta repair the fueltank and the hull tho best of luck to all of you car looters I actually found this at a marked car spawn zone

Why are cars so rare in Chernarus?

You've obviously never played non-DayZ arma....

Why are cars so rare in Chernarus?

OK nononono I'm asking scenario- wise why are car's so rare not server-wise like people hoarding them... Realistically cars shouldn't be a rarity in a zombie apocalypse... Most people would die locally
  13. Well I'm pretty well loaded out and I want to find a vehicle... Over the last week I've been to about 50 noted vehicle spawns taken from dayzdb, but I've found no vehicles... I've server hopped, but still no luck... Most vehicles in the server have been taken already. So i want to know when do vehicles reset/spawn so I can go try to find them before anyone's got their hands on it.

You're playing too much Dayz if...

    You eat your meals crouched.
  15. looting NW airfield with a huge group, moving to safe location on a bus, ejecting accidentally Insta-death.

Beans should be gold dust; hunger a possibility

Hunger and thirst is already ridiculous anyways... No one has to eat food every 30 minutes or starve or drink every 20 or dehydrate...

    Best 3rd party communication program?

Vent is the best.. User specific volume changes make it so that you can hear people with quiet mics and people with loud mics at same volume.. also it's easy to set up
  18. Right now, DayZ is in Alpha, buggy and incomplete, but once we get into beta we should add some new items... Some items I've been wanting in the game are: -Radios! Of course people already use Teamspeak, Ventrilo, Mumble, Skype, and other outside voice communication programs to talk, but in game implementation of a remote communication device would be really interesting.. You could have it be found in military camps or supermarkets. Maybe as a bonus, you can choose radio frequencies to talk on specific channels instead of to everyone that owns a radio. -Notes! People could write in a custom message and leave it on a supermarket floor, or next to a lee enfield, to maybe let people know where to go for help, or possibly lure survivors into a trap! It could also be used to leave secret signs for people in your squad that you got separated with. Found in supermarkets or residential areas! -Mosin-Nagant (Lee-Enfield replacement) It is really strange why a WWI era British-made rifle is so common in a Russian country.. It should be replaced with the Mosin-Nagant which is an almost identical bolt-action mag-fed rifle from the same era! More realism! -Acetylene Torch (for car or heli hull repair) It is kind of unrealistic that you can just repair a vehicle's hull by.. well we don't know, but the survivor somehow applies scrap metal to the vehicle with his bare hands and makes it stick? even if the survivor had a toolbox, you can't hammer metal into other metal and make it stick.. you need to weld it on to ensure that it stays on. These torches can be found in industrial buildings! -Pourable gasoline (New action for Jerry Can) You should allow gasoline to be poured on the floor and be able to light it! It could be used to trap survivors or burn zombies! I don't think this is possible because of Arma engine restrictions , but if it's possible it'd be awesome! We should be able to light the gas with a box of matches from about 3 or 4 steps away from the gas... -.22 rifle! Honestly speaking, this should be the most common weapon in agricultural areas. 22 caliber weapons are the most common for small game hunting yet there's no 22 caliber weapon in the game!? 22s are very quiet but they lack firepower, making it useless for zombies, but useful for hunting or maybe plinking survivors from far without them being able to pinpoint your location! These could be found in all agricultural areas.. -Ammo trucks/cache There should be military ammo trucks that ran off the road or crashed into a building that carries military caliber ammunition.. These would be like helicopter crashes except they carry nothing but ammo! They could be found in random locations like heli crashes.. -MREs (two to a slot) There should be MREs in the game, works as an ordinary food item like a can of beans EXCEPT you can put two of them into one inventory slot. I don't know how it'd work (maybe make it like the water bottle[full, empty] one for 2 MREs, one for 1 MRE), but it'd be cool too see them, and they'd be realistic since freeze-dried MREs would be the main sustenance in a post-apocalyptic scenario and they're very compact allowing more to be carried.. They could be found RARELY in residential areas and commonly in military camps. These are things that I think would improve the game! If you have ideas too add them below! :) -

Can't have a pistol and use flashlight?

But in real life, you can do this..
  20. Oh damn, sorry, I didn't see any posts like this that's why I posted one :P
  21. I've only seen vehicles twice, and they were buses both times. The first time, it was out of gas, second time I jacked it but someone else jacked it from me once I disconnected. That's the way it goes I guess.
  22. met up with a friend of mine in NW airfield, looted both barracks, ran down to stary sobor, looted all camps, surprisingly, no bandit snipers! I expected a firefight in which I'd end up dead or unconcious while the bandits loot us, but I actually ended up with an AKM and a M9SD! Everything went better than expected! :)

    walking wobble first person

Maybe its because your character is in pain. Try taking painkillers that usually fixes it..
  24. Yesterday, my friend and I were trying to meet near solnichniy to play together, I was on a different server than him. He reached solnichniy and then just started raging.. I asked him what happened and he said everyone on the server got teleported to one point and got massacred... THank god i was about to switch to his server...... Why is it so easy for hackers to exploit this game? Is battleye almost as useless as VAC?
