With it i can't set priority to high (no permission), but framerate is still solid. As to -winxp, i think it forces to use older DirectX. That's what i heard. Here are the steps that i've done: -Add to the startup line: -noSplash -noFilePatching -cpucount=2 -winxp -In ArmA2OA.cfg change these lines: AToC=5; FXAA=0; PPAA=1; PPAA_Level=1; I changed it all to 0 before, but it looks much better this way and doesn't hit performance. Also: GPU_MaxFramesAhead=1; GPU_DetectedFramesAhead=1; -In nick.ARMA2OAProfile change these lines: shadingQuality=0; shadowQuality=0; mouseSmoothing=1; terrainGrid= 40 to 50, the more it is, the better performance (50 is max) -Ingame settings: Texture quality: Very High Video Memory: Default Anty Aliasing: Medium Anisotropic Filtering: Medium Object Detail: Low Shadows: High Post Processing: Off -Using RAMDisk, tutorial is here: -Also try to use GameBooster, and end all not necessary processes, like Steam or your browser. If you want to create a shortcut to set priority to High, open SixUpdater, not SixLauncher, RMB on DayZ and find "Create Shortcut on desktop" or something like this, it's also in RAMDisk tutorial. @Edit- Forgot to tell you, but i changed resolution back to 1280x1024. No FPS loss. @Edit2- Found a way to set priority to High. Just search taskmgr.exe and start it as administrator, if you have W7. It won't tell you that you do not have permissions. Idk how to do it on XP.

I agree. Playing the game like it should be - it gives much more fun. Even as a victim it is fun. But most people find killing someone faster, easier and safer. He won't run, he won't shoot. But where is the fun in senseless killing?

Such a luck on a first time. On my first play i found M16, just to starve on top of it. Plenty of weapons and ammo - no food. Not a one, single, tiny can of beans.

I LOVE YOU GUYS! Just tried to use -winxp with all the previous hints from all of you. It was finally like 60FPS! Then i tried to turn setting a little higher. Guess what? STILL 60FPS! Now I'm playing on High/Very High, with no Post Processing and medium AntyAliasing and Anisotropic Filtering. It wouldn't be possible without you, i literally love you. :D Just ended my first adventure in DayZ. It went really good. Hatchet, Remington, plenty of ammo, compass, watch, map. But no food. NO. FREAKING. FOOD. ANYWHERE! I started to starve when i found some military buildings. Went to one - M16. As much as happy I was, I died. Right on top of M16. Yea, tell me about bad luck. @Edit - Forgot to tell - I killed a cow, just to find out you can't eat it raw. Plenty of wood - no matches.

Try the methods listened above. Don't use Six Updater, make a shortcut for DayZ in it, and use it. Then in Task Manager change priority to High. Also use 1024x768 resolution in game.

Trust me, i know what i am doing. ^^ Of course not all CPU are made for all sockets. I'll stay with Socket AM2 and propably Phenom II CPU. The only thing with GPU is slot: AGP and PCI. Mine is PCI, so i don't see any problem here. Same goes for RAM. On my current motherboard it's DDR2, on my new one it'll be DDR3, so i'll need to upgrade it too. Who said something about 100FPS? I'd be hell as happy to have that much. I get like 15-20.

Nah, im not touching my GPU atm. Also buying full new PC is too expensive, it's much cheaper to just make one yourself out of bought parts.

Guys, chill down... I don't think that what he has done was right. It was a douche move, and he surely is a jackass here. But still, it's just a game, so stop insulting his real life. I am sure if I'd meet this guy ingame, I'd sure as hell put a whole magazine in his head. Yet insulting him and/or his family will only get you banned here. As to the Eastern European - I am Polish (that's pretty much Center Europe, but still ^^), and i don't think you should describe everyone from that region on one persons deeds. Many people from there are good and are helping new players. Yeah, it is true that also many people from there are trolls, but that's not the point. PS. Yes, my Engrish are bad.

Yeah, that's surely it. I'll be upgrading CPU, but to do that i need also to upgrade my motherboard, RAM and AC. It won't happen anytime soon. D: If anyone knows any other ways to maximize FPS, tell it here, please.

You don't get black bars on the side in this resolution. NOPE. It's even worse that way.

Same thing, man. Try the things people told above, it really helped me. Make sure you play on 1024x768.

Well, i am playing pretty much everywhere, scavenging towns and going to another. I didn't notice much diffirence, but after the resolution change I didn't happen to be in city. I assume you mean graphic drivers. They update automatically through CCC. As for other drivers - i use Windows Update.

Thanks for responses, I'll make sure to try those. Altough i think i have everything set to Performance in CCC. Also i changed server to a french one. It finally made it playable, but aiming is still hard and it has poor performance. @Edit: Tried it all and changed resolution to 1024x768. It's finally starting to be enjoyable, and mouse movements are much more smoother. Thank you all guys for helping. If you have anything else, tell me. :D Also for me the game is looking almost like a grayscale, and it's extremely bright when i look down. Anyone know a fix for this? I saw youtubers that have normal look in-game.

I already did all of that, didn't help. I'll try another server, thanks. :D I have Post Processing disabled, I'll try tuning the settings. Thanks also. ^^

Well, usually in Singleplayer you don't fight with 300 of enemies. xD

I know. I am playing on everything Low, Antyaliasing off, Anisotropic Filtering off, Shadows off. It doesn't really matter what i do, on every settings it's the same.
