    are you guys fucking retarded?

So a guy from another country is forced to use Google translate to get his point across, it comes off badly, and everyone now wants him burned alive/run out of town/etc.? That's discrimination.
  2. When rocket fixed DCing, those DCers (and then more) began to exploit the ghost left behind to dupe items.

Suggestion for cutting down on bandits

Because I know something can be salvaged from DayZ and that it can be more than a mindless kill on sight fest for lazy-ass players ruining the gaming industry. And until rocket comes out and says it, DayZ is more than ArmA2 with zombies. Yet you continuously point out that "it's a game, live with it" You're no better than the casuals and the mainstream that you jump on for whining about PvP. You don't see DayZ as anything more than a shooting gallery, and if you did you would be a WHOLE lot more inclined to look at this situation and realize DayZ is going to continue to be a joke until we find some mechanic to stop the deathmatching. I'm just as sick of casual games and easy mode shovelware as any self-proclaimed "elitist" on this forum. The only difference is that I also want intelligence and immersion in my games, and if that means getting rid of the people to finally have some kind of intelligence, so be it. At least, at the end of the day, I can say I was against what turned DayZ into "that zombie deathmatch mod on ArmA2" I'm the kind of person that gets pissed off when people spike the gamma on Amnesia and call people that get scared "pansies" I'm the kind of person that looks at E3 and goes "what the hell?" because the biggest titles are just sequels I'm the kind of person that watches boiled down, arcadey games take over the industry while my gems from the past remain completely ignored because there's not a mainstream market. I am a damn gamer, and I care about the quality of what I play, and you bet I'm going to defend what I find interesting to the end. I see a problem, I see DayZ falling apart because the community is too basic and immature to treat the game with some respect, and if it continues the game will be pointless. If it's stupid to defend something and demand a little respect for it, then what the hell is the point of living?

    Bandit catering?

If you're going to pull ridiculous facts out of your ass' date=' at least pretend to back them up with something.[/quote'] Fact: Killing on sight makes you a Bandit Fact: Those shooting at me DC the second they get shot Fact: Bandits have more to lose in any given firefight, because they value their murder count. Fact: Survivors are too busy being immersed in the game to be ready to Alt-F4 the moment shit hits the fan Fact: You're just looking for a reason to complain that someone doesn't like getting Combat Arms into DayZ.

Suggestion for cutting down on bandits

It's sort of like playing an anti-hero in Champions Online... Suddenly everyone starts doing it because it's "cool" and the game doesn't feel very heroic anymore, too many "dark" freaks ruining the whole concept of heroes.

    are you guys fucking retarded?

"This is Alpha, game is perfect" The mentality of every PvPer/fanboy/fanatic out there.

    Bandit catering?

The majority of DCers ARE bandits though. Not the other way around, for sure, but the gist of DCers do it because they don't want to lose gear. Given the massive amount of pandering that PvPers get, it's no surprise that using an artificial advantage is the next step. It won't happen though, that would give griefers a hard time.

Suggestion for cutting down on bandits

That's a pathetic argument from a griefer. Hands down. Survivors are not free to play a surviving game because there's no survival to be had. Survivors are forced to be victims because the only other alternative is banditry. They can't shoot back because the zombies will get them, while bandits sit high up in zombie free areas, picking people off with not-so-rare sniper rifles as if they had a ceiling hack from Counter Strike. You say "learn to adapt" but what you really mean is "learn to kill people" How is that not forcing PvP down someone's throat? Because even if they want to survive, they still have griefers shoving it down with no say or ability to fight back without becoming griefers themselves. The game revolves around who shoots first, making the entire concept of survival all about just that, who shoots first. Call it survival, but it's forced banditry whichever way you want it. In DayZ, you are FORCED to be a bandit, or else you cannot play, just respawn all the time.

    F*CK all the players!

At the end of the day, DayZ is all about how many people you kill. Survival is a mundane thing, and zombie killing is a waste of ammo. Killing players and watching them legitimately express their outrage at an amazing title being killed by one-track minds is all there is to do anymore.

Suggestion for cutting down on bandits

Zombies in the woods, end of sniping bandits as we know it. Then they'll just start DCing, but the zombies will stay. I'm sure they hate to have their next AS50 dropped in from off the map. That 10 minute wait for end game loot is something they're not used to anymore.

Suggestion for cutting down on bandits

You and EVERYONE like you are the ones shoving YOUR style of gameplay down OUR throats, don't give me that "it's a free game" bullshit. Survivors don't have the freedom to survive because assholes are too busy shooting for shits and giggles like this is some arcade FPS.
  12. Virfortis

This is how YOU playing this mod.

To translate: The vocal minority ruining this game prefer DCing and exploiting empty servers to get better gear, which is the core issue of PvP being so stupid. They also DC the second any time they can't get super-easy kills, and prefer unarmed people because bullets are so easy to find, and kills are considered manly.
  13. I have yet to actually be in a situation where my leg was broken, I always just die to the second shot because desync says I was standing still the whole time.
  14. So far we have these facts: No interaction No tension/tense moments Too much reward to risk Glass ceiling on gameplay for survivors Glass floor for bandits So now the question is, how do we stop it? I'm rather partial to having LESS zombies in town, but move the extras out into the field. Having zeds spawn in the woods and otherwise considered "safe" places would curb the hilltop DMer greatly. Secondly, the aggro range for rifles needs to increase greatly. If I can hear it, the zombies should be able to hear it. This should put a consequence to hillside camping (which is the major PvP problem, in my opinion). Also, and this is my longest running suggestion, military grade weapons need a serious ammo nerf. It's too easy to get fully loaded after no more than a days work. Make each shot precious, and watch people start thinking about saving ammo.

    Ammo for rare guns.

All guns need to be super rare, with super rare ammo. The only reason for guns to be this common is if it's to encourage spraying at random. When you're loaded up as Commando, it's hard to think before shooting.

    Disabled Side Chat: Revisit?

Side chat just tells Bandits where everyone is. It kills what little cooperation this game tries to achieve, and reminds us all that it's just another video game (as if people hunting for killstreaks didn't remind us enough) So short answer, no. Side chat is gone for good, as it should be.
  17. When people communicate, we call it cooperation. When the internet communicates, we call it Xbox LIVE. DayZ would make the ultimate Arcade experience. Not Arcade as in gameplay, but arcade as in bringing people together in the REAL world to play this virtual one. Fountain drinks...pizza...yeah I missed out on the arcade era... Thanks, online multiplayer :dodgy: More to the point: It's hard to find friends when they shoot you on sight.
  18. And yet, they don't allow you to do it either. I think that's the key problem. If someone kills you, your chance of finding the complicated scenario you wanted is now over. People want DayZ to be a complicated and fun collection of scenarios, but then there's a slight, however slight, group of people that do NOT want that, AND have the power to stop you. You, also, have no power to stop them because you haphazardly killing them for fun is all part of their story, but them giving you the finger just so they can laugh isn't in yours.
  19. I try it and it never works. In my personal experience, it's a no-win situation. I know OTHERS have had a working experience with Direct, but I most certainly haven't, and somehow doubt I ever will.
  20. Survivors don't have massive amounts of supplies, guns, and all the vehicles they need to get from place to place. They also can't predict when someone logs into the woods they just cleared. The only way to play as a Survivor is to simply not play at all. The variables and scenarios ALWAYS favors bandits. Bandits don't need to go into town for supplies because they can have them driven in by their buddies camping the NWAF. And forget about getting anywhere near, they have NVGs and DMRs on some server you've never heard of, so shooting them does nothing more than give them a 10 minute time out. As I've said before, there's a big difference between difficult and stupid. Sudoku is difficult, skydiving without a parachute because it's "hardcore" is stupid.
