    BANDIT? SURVIVOR? BAH

commentator - kinda like the guardian angel, in that you stay hidden and stalk another player. you do not interfere with their business, only provide live commentary over direct chat of their behaviour. bonus points if done a randy newman/musical style.

    BANDIT? SURVIVOR? BAH

flash mob - a group (bigger the better) hides at the back of a building, ideally a church. once a survivor walks in, the mob runs in playing music by Journey over direct chat and has a party.

For those looking for a different way of playing

Consider me on board. Not sure how this will be anything other than a chaos, but chaos is what makes life interesting. Seeing how the medics got established could be a good way to start. a few guys, semi-working together, and then spreading the word on the forums to inspire others to join their cause. not sure about clan tags as these are easily abused. maybe to help establish a movement, we could try to setup a safe drop-in centre for new spawners near the coast, offering food and drink and medical supplies? get survivors more accustomed to a friendly presence?

Why does everyone want me dead?

when i play i adopt a "don't shoot first" attitude. yes i die a lot, but i also get a massive rush during each player interaction. if i shoot the other guy, the game becomes mundane again. only with the other survivor near me does the game become exciting. unpredictable. i stopped worrying about losing my gear so much. if i really want to keep something, i put it in a tent. the game is meant to be about survival, but i prefer it to be more about player interaction. i can survive just fine with a knife, matches, hatchet and water bottle. forever. for a more demanding, intense, and rewarding experience, i choose not to shoot other players. shooting on sight is a cowardly move.

    Dams and the water supply

What if the dams (Topeda/Topolka are there more?) were destructible, and rebuild-able? When destroyed, rivers form which provide a larger water source for drinking, making survival that little bit easier (I have no clue how feasible a dynamic river is with this engine :s). control of the dams (and water supply) could provide an interesting end-game objective to fight over. some players want rivers to aid survivial, some players don't (maybe zombies spawn in the forest near rivers?) or just want to grief. obviously soda cans would have to become a lot rarer if this were to matter. Thoughts?

    Player's Kill book

i like the idea that you get an insight as to the kind of player you just killed. i dont like the ideas of labelling bandits on sight, as it removes a lot of the chaos. but a system that lets you know a little about the player you just killed, so it can give you clues as to whether or not the kill was "justified". at the moment some players kill on sight because they feel it is neccesary to survive (the "can't beat em - join em" players), which is a self-fullfilling prophecy because the world becomes more dangerous with this view. this will at least show players with that mindset that some of the kills were not perhaps neccesary for survival. may change some player behaviours. this idea can add more shades of grey, and uncertainty to dayz. i like it.

    Day Z Urban Legends

was heading into polana from the north today, looking for a route through the zeds. i see a figure running towards me, and i fear the worst that i'm zombie lunch. but wait, it's a priest. with an axe. but not just one priest now. 4 of them, all with axes. the leader calls out "police!" as i run away, not looking back. i call them the PPP, the polana priest police.
