Killed a player...server said by friendly fire..
WisdomSnork replied to WisdomSnork's topic in New Player Discussion
Does he actually die? IE "wake up dead" when he logs in? Or does it save you when you're logging in? -
If you're killed as you're logging in, does the kill stick? And does the person who killed you get a murder? I just killed someone today and it said I got the kill due to friendly fire, my murder/bandit count did not go up. Although I was able to loot the corpse without issue.

Yeah, Box troll is troll.

OP couldn't be bothered to RTFM, so he didn't know to run into a building, or to bandage.

Ammo, this guy didn't ask for help forming a conclusion. He concluded it sucked based on his limited experience. We're not here to convince people otherwise. I think that everyone here is nothing but helpful when someone makes a post looking for information, even to the point of re typing the answers to questions that have been asked a million times.

Guys, I think your argument over what we do most naturally is a bit irrelevant when, rather than youtube videos, we can simply examine what a few tens of thousands of humans do when put into a survival simulation. I mean it's the perfect direct experience experiment in exactly what you two are arguing about. And apparently what we do is kill eachother mercilessly and protect our meager holdings with our lives. Apparently most people are bandits in a life or death situation where 99% of the people are armed as we are :]

My fellow players, a revelation which has occurred to me:

Dead Space is awesome, and Dead Space 2 had freakin BEAM WEAPONS! Try the latest in the X universe series of games for a seriously immersive space sim/4x -
Grab it, best voice comms for this game imo. You don't need to pay me either. I have plenty of my own stuff, I don't want yours. No worries about being stabbed in the back, my forum word is my bond :]

Most of us "have enough friends". Honestly, if you asked me on here to be friendly and play a game with you, I would! But if I see you out in game first, I can only assume that you'd find it safer with me dead than alive... So I'll shoot first if I get the chance. It's not personal, just survival.

Fire, I'll help you. What's your skype name? You can find me at fergrim@gmail.com

Why does this game take a year to load now?
WisdomSnork replied to scaramoosh's topic in New Player Discussion
Well, looks like the OP had a guilty conscience then lol -
You have to own Arma 2 combined operations in order to play this game. You must buyed Arma 2 and Operation Arrowhead, provided as a package called "combined operations"

Those worst community ever posts are just rage quits from people hoping for this type of game but in an easier fashion. Old school game nerds are the most friendly ;]

Hmmmm... Now I'm not positive, but sometimes if you make big changes in your bag and then log out, the server doesn't have time to actually save the present state of your character and you end up essentially being "rolled back" a minute or two. That's my last guess, though, if it doesn't apply :]

Yeah, every time a game is in pre-pre development and someone is indignant and shocked at its lack of polish, someone else comes along and points out the game is in pre-pre development. What a crazy world we live in :]

I'm fairly sure the only way to prevent this glitch from recurring is to be mindful of how much space you have in your bag. The game will let you put more items in your bag even when it's full and will in turn delete other items. You have to keep an eye on the fullness of your main inventory and your pack in order to avoid this.

Why does this game take a year to load now?
WisdomSnork replied to scaramoosh's topic in New Player Discussion
Can you provide a link/evidence that long load times are associated with an exploitative pattern of logging out? I hadn't heard of this. Did your kids and things you had to do come up just after you fired and missed a few shots at another player? :P -

Challenges aren't fair. If I have to sit there and think to figure it out, if I'm not given a way point to my next quest giver, I am simply lost. -
Yes, I do that all the time. Like at the hangar north of Balota. I kill any unarmed person I see anywhere near there. Why? Because someone with nothing has nothing to lose and everything to gain, and there are freakin guns nearby for an "unarmed" person to pick up. Your Lee Enfield is just as good or better as my slightly cooler assault rifle and can kill as certainly as any gun can. Only way I can be sure you're not circling around for a kill once you pick up a weapon is to kill you before you get a weapon.

lol yeah, Day Z is known for its historic "fan boy" audience. Going back.. oh... years.. no.. well, a while! You don't need to be an "elitist hardcore" to enjoy this game. It's a hard game, it's supposed to be a hard game. By the way, did you ever figure out that morphine instantly fixes a broken bone? Trick is not to break one before you HAVE morphine and to stop running full speed while standing so every zombie doesn't see you.

You honestly shouldn't even come back for the beta if that is how you feel. This whole fucking game is predicated on hours of working being destroyed by something outside of your control. What do you want, a prompt that says "mash x to dodge bullet now!" whenever a sniper takes a shot? Or perhaps the ability to run into any city freely and without watching for other players? Again, this seems like the opposite of your kind of game. But hell, that means they should change it to suit you, right? I totally disagree that it won't or even isn't happening at this stage. Do you usually play alone? As soon as I got into this game it was immediately apparent I needed a small group to run with in order to keep alive. Without any prompting from "group quests" or "boss monsters" I figured it out pretty quickly.

Given that this game is all about survival and the players haven't (yet) formed a black list of KOS bandits, it just makes no sense to trust anyone not in your skype call. This is simply "working as intended". I won't even play with a friend of a friend, not knowing if they might see my bling gear and want to take it and I that is the way it SHOULD be. As long as any player can pilfer your pack by being within 5 feet of you or end days of gameplay with one shot to the back of your head, there is no reason to ever trust anyone. And if this whining ever successfully gets that dynamic changed, I will cry tears of blood on the altar of easy mode.

People want their games on rails nowadays, each experience meticulously planned and executed like a scene in a movie. I gave my beans to the OP and I'd give him my frank too if I could. -
No, sir, you give ME back the time it took to read it. Hopefully your next zombie game has kill streaks and you won't be so disappointed. ;]
