Aussies are classically not very quick on their feet. I'd suggest using a mid-power assault rifle with a scope. The scope will allow you to check out areas ahead of you before you approach, the semi/full flexibility will keep you viable at a variety of ranges as opposed to the "plant your ass on this hill here" sniper rifle style.

Ooh... let's play "giving my unsupported opinion in the form of a single adjective". Ugly used boring already... so I'll use... fucky. The guns in this game are fucky, they do too much damage! That's yet another episode of... my unsupported opinion!

Nothing is unfair in this very early stage game. We're not playing for fun, we're playing to test the thing (even if we're having damn fun while we do it, we're not customers, we're testers). We're SUPPOSED to be breaking every rule we can so that Rocket knows what rules he has to fix or tighten up. Have at it. Server hop, mid-fight abort, use your infinite ammo. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Nothing wrong with server hopping, if they want to stop us from doing that, they can create a single server or an enforced wait period upon quitting and rejoining. Also, server hopping is a phrase invented for this alpha... What does it matter to you if what you do to compensate for your shitty ping is considered "server hopping" ?

Jjk, I'm blown away and astounded by the breadth and depth of your vocabulary and general mode of self expression. Your argument is air tight, with the premise, day z blowing, also serving as a conclusion you save time on wasteful thought and useless careful consideration. This is the statement of a grade A wanker. There are dozens of videos and guides on how to make a decent start, none of them include insulting the people who are trying to help you. Anyway, I started playing a week ago, and after just searching the forums.. without having to insult anyone, I was able to find all of the answers I needed and a few people to help me out with learning how to use my gear. I'd be thrilled to add you to my skype and help you, as long as you promise not to waste your kill streak power ups.

okay after re reading teldrius' post, he's just frustrated he got killed by zombies right away and generally had no idea what to do. He'd love the game if someone would help him. I volunteer Teld! We could have you all the food, meds and a gun ya need in no time.

So as the topic states, I was laying beneath some bushes with the ol' thermal up practicing shots on zombies, when I see a player. They may have just logged in as I didn't see them arrive. So I proceed to humanely put this person down with a single shot to the head, and the server reports "Snork has killed blahblah (friendly fire)" I looked at my numbers and neither my murders nor bandit kills went up. I looted everything of value off this guy (unfortunately no primary weapon on him) but I nabbed a toolbox. So I know it was a player.. What's up with this?

I don't really distinguish between armed and unarmed players unless they happen to charm me very quickly lol An unarmed player could very well be an armed one 50 yards after he runs by you... and at that point he's excited to try his new gun. I prefer to kill them, at least that way I know exactly what they're up to :]

I'll give the opposite advice. Stay near the coast and try to get your basics together asap. A decent supply of food and drink, a primary weapon and some medical supplies. Once you have that, feel free to head north. But it's best to have a quick, near coastal run you can do to gear up quickly after death. And if some asshole like me kills you while you're unarmed running into cherno, you lost nothing but a few minutes lol

Hahaha I'm sure we were both wondering if one of us would be a fool for not shooting. Once he was up and about with morphine and a transfusion he immediately found a lee enfield for himself. SCARY TO BE ME. But he let my NVGs and L85a2 walk out the door and for that I would transfuse him again lol

The high value barn just south of town? You should shoot your friend in both legs with your AKM when you get standing again.

Try the following. While in game hold shift and hit the - sign on your numpad. you won't get a text prompt, but regardless: Type flush, hit enter. This should fix it.

Bael, one, I didn't know he was loading.. I was in an area where loot spawns practicing my headshots on zombies at 300 yards when I turn my vision to a nearby building and see his glowing form standing there. It didn't occur to me to wait and see if he moved before I killed him. Two, even if I did know he was loading, I probably would have done it anyway. He logged off right outside the control tower at the airfield near Balota. not the best spot ;]

That's funny you'd say War Z sounds like Day Z but fixed and better. PC Gamer described it as an easier version for less hardcore players lol But supposedly it does give all of what these rage whiners have been asking for. WoW Z lol
